Aaron Schatz Football Outsiders-- Still Doubts Josh
Bill from NYC replied to JESSEFEFFER's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is an interesting point of view. Imo, other than health, it boils down to Allen's head because he has unbelievable tools. Josh has a Ryan Mallet arm (quite the compliment), and he is an excellent runner. That is some combination! If he can figure the game out he is going to be tough to stop. Perhaps Oliver is in a situation that is a bit similar. He looks to have absolutely tremendous talent but who did he play against? We need to develop both players, keep them healthy, and win football games. -
Entertainers That Died Young
Bill from NYC replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Not enough love for Jerry Garcia. Jerry smoked pot and cigarettes and was an alcoholic. He was diabetic and ate everything in sight. He was a heroin addict and who knows how much cocaine he snorted. He probably tripped on acid thousands of times and I think that he still lived until he was 53 or so. There will always be people playing Jerry's music. RIP. -
Aaron Schatz Football Outsiders-- Still Doubts Josh

I was also never known for my optimism lol! Wrt Daboll, I feel like we have seen what this man is capable of.....on other teams. I think that given some time we are going to really appreciate him. -

I can't say that I understand why you are so rough on Daboll. Some of the best coaches in history saw fit to hire him. The Bills provided him with: 1) A rookie qb. 2) A terrible offensive line. 3) A sub-par running attack. 4) Lousy wide receivers. 5) Poor tight ends. 6) Peterman. I could go on. Despite the above, the Bills managed to win some games. I might join you after this year if Daboll doesn't improve the offense. He does seem to have much more to work with. I think that he deserves another year. -
Teams Wanting To Pick 1st in 2020.....
Bill from NYC replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sorry, I really did think that you were trolling. Tua is VERY accurate and has a very good arm. Do you like "process" guys? Nick Saban invented the term and he LOVES this kid. Tua said that chose Alabama because he would get the most exposure and he wants to build his father (a minister) a church. I have actually seen him put his arm around Saban. NOBODY does that, and Saban talks about what a great kid he is. He sees the field like nobody else in the NCAA in terms of reading defenses and is really smart. He has a strong lower body and can run. Is he clutch? You tell me. He came into a championship game in the 2nd half as a true freshman, with his team down, and getting beat. He brought them back to a tie and the Bama kicker missed a chip shot FG for the win, forcing the game into OT. Georgia scored a FG. It was looking so, SO bad. And then this: -

Teams Wanting To Pick 1st in 2020.....

He didn't have a good game and the team he faced was the better team that day. Are you actually dumb enough to suggest that Tua cannot produce in the clutch, or just being a troll? -
Teams Wanting To Pick 1st in 2020.....
Bill from NYC replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He really is and 3 of them will be draft eligible and they are stars. One of the (Ruggs) is actually faster than Foster, perhaps even by quite a bit. I want nothing more than for the Bills to draft one of these 3. -

Bill from NYC replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He didn't play his best vs. Georgia and Clemson but you know that he was hampered by a pretty serious ankle injury, as well as some other injuries. The Tide (imo) is going to focus a bit more on running the football this season this season, whereas Saban will get back closer to his "roots" for lack of a better term. That offense will be a sight to behold. -

Yes, he really sucked against LSU, Auburn and Oklahoma. -

Yeah, 245/355 (69.9%) - 43 TDs/6 Ints. - 199.5 Passer Rating - 2nd in Heisman Voting..... That really sucks and will help the Bills! Great -

Very good point. Let's see how much fun he has playing for that team. -
Does anyone believe that there are NFL Teams that want to tank this season for the top draft selection? I for one do. The Raiders would seem to fit this description. The will be moving to Vegas so there is little gain for them to win this year. They got rid of Amari Cooper, and now they have Peterman lol! I can see them (and btw the Dolphins too) actually throwing in the towel to draft Tua in 2020. Why not add a huge name to draw bigger fan interest and ticket sales? This thread isn't completely about Tua mind you. He could (God forbid) have a bad year or get hurt. I mean it is possible but even at that, the 2020 draft looks to be amazing. I am mainly just curious as to how many of you think that a team really would intentionally tank to get a better draft position.

I saw Raquel Welch close up in person. She actually winked and smiled at me. When she turned away I could see her laughing and I can understand why. My forehead was starting to sweat and it was hard to move my feet. She froze me. In my very strong opinion, Raquel is the most beautiful woman in the history of the planet Earth and I never saw anyone in her class.

DE Jerry Hughes: Signs two-year extension
Bill from NYC replied to CaptnCoke11's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't think of a reason not to like this particular deal. The price tag was relatively small and the position is just so important. Keeping Hughes might enable the Bills to not have to use a 1st round pick on a DE in 2020, thus enabling them to take one of the many lightening fast, sure handed receivers who are made to order for a QB with an arm like Allen. I have been very critical about many of the Bill's strikingly stupid decisions over the years and I am here to proclaim that extending Hughes was (imo of course) a wonderful move. -
Which trade do you prefer?
Bill from NYC replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rudolph because I don't want to give up a 2nd in 2020 under almost any conditions. The 2020 draft is going to make the 2019 draft look like garbage imo. -
You have surpassed your goal bro. I remember when my daughter was going to law school in Philly. You told me that if she ever had any problems to contact you. I will never forget that offer. I don't know how many times in my life anyone was ever that generous and kind to me. Be well, and if I can ever be of help to you I am here. Like I said in an earlier post, close friendships were built on this board.

DE Jerry Hughes: Signs two-year extension
Bill from NYC replied to CaptnCoke11's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that its a slippery slope. The day that we all have to agree on every issue will be the day that this great board will cease to be so great. And while you are probably correct about some of your hunches, my money says that he is often correct with his takes, and; I don't think that he is a troll at all. We all cope in different ways. Some try to not expect so much in order to avoid being crushed when things fall apart. I for one like the directions the Bills have taken wrt Allen, the offensive line, and some other moves. I hope it works but I too try to temper my expectations after all of the heartaches. -
I do not but it is great to hear from you.

I'm not sure how cool it is for posters to be taunting someone like that. This would especially apply (imo of course) to people who cry to the mods about other "meanies." I am NOT saying that you complain to mods e-man. That said, I have a hunch that a lot of posters are, but then feel free to insult Scott and others. -
Richie is doing well. He goes up for games and will be at the opener.
