Jerry Jeudy actually said this about Davonta. He is just that good. The kid makes fully extended catches. He has long arms and gets up very high. He has good speed and can even block. I have been talking him up all season. In a normal draft he would be a top 10-15 pick. It might even happen in 2020 but the are more quality wide receivers than I have ever seen in a draft.

When the last rose of summer pricks my finger,And the hot sun chills me to the bone,When I can't hear the song for the singer,And I can't tell my pillow from a stone,I will walk alone by the black muddy river,And sing me a song of my own,I will walk alone by the black muddy river,And sing me a song of my own.

Obviously not even almost as bitter as you after the Ohio State loss. Have your tears dried yet? Have you run out of tissues. C'mon bruh, make a few more excuses LOL!!!!!!! Please, the best quarterbacks in the playoffs won their respective games. That it it. Period. Still, don't let that stop you.....we all want to hear a dozen or so more excuses. We're not bored at all. Those refs sucked, right?

Davonta gets open on almost every play and makes lots of catches while fully extended. Ruggs is probably the fastest kid in college. I would love for the Bills to have a choice between those two.
-
What makes you like Ruggs more than Davonta Smith? I'm not trying to argue, just curious.

Despite some of the comments and jokes when Alabama lost their playoff hopes, I offer my condolences to all OSU Fans. I hope our teams meet in the championship game next season but our schedule is really tough.

Once beneath the stars, the universe was ours. Love was all we knew, and all I knew was you, I wonder if you know, I wonder if you think about me once upon a time, in your wildest dreams.

Taylor made Carson and Johnson better players. He made everybody a better player. The man was like a machine. At times he was allowed by Parcells and Bellichick to roam the field and do anything he wanted. Remember, the OP is about teams. Btw, I am not making any all knowing proclamations. This is all jmo and a fun topic for conversation. PS: There were a couple of Dallas defenses that I thought were better than the Giants.
-
Well, I don't think that the Giant defensive unit was as talented or as balanced as certain others, for instance; the Championship Bears, The Steel Curtain, or even the Championship Bucs. I am NOT dissing the Giants defense either. They were certainly the best coached unit perhaps ever. All I am saying is that I am not so sure how they would have measured up without LT. The man was THAT good.
-
Obviously the Giant defenses were talented. I do however think that without Taylor, they were just another "very good" defense. Taylor was off the charts great. Tony Dorsett said he used to wake up in the middle of the night seeing visions of Taylor coming at him. I met LT once in unusual circumstances and am 100% sure he was both crazy and dangerous. That said, I never saw a better defensive player, not even Bruce.

I liken Henry to Campbell in terms of strength and his stiff arm, not in terms of speed. When Earl entered the league, he ran a 100 yard dash in 10 seconds or less. His career was cut short by injuries and overuse. He ran as well as anyone I ever saw but again, Henry has similar power and actually weighs 15 or so pounds more. Its a dream whereas Henry is a southerner. It would probably take a huge contract to get him up here but in a season like this, Bills Fans are allowed to dream. :)

The wind in the willows played "Tea For Two," The sky was yellow and the sun was blue. Strangers stopping strangers, just to shake their hand. Everybody's playing, in the Heart of Gold Band, Heart of Gold Band.

Derrick is a tremendous player and would become a fan favorite in about 15 seconds. He is also a great kid. When he was at the draft combines he took time out to visit terminally ill children in a hospital. Derrick is probably the most punishing player in football today. I watched every down of his college career and I know all about this kid. He doesn't have THE quickest start but the Bills have a strong OL. After he gets a few steps I have seen players not try all that hard to tackle him. His stiff arm is reminiscent to that of Earl Campbell or even Jim Brown. He is a perfect fit for this team. With Derrick and one of these great wide receivers coming out in the 2020 draft, the Bills would be a Super Bowl contender, if not favorite. Just my long overdue opinion.

Brian Daboll has no future here
Bill from NYC replied to Tesla03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the 20 plus years I have been on this board, we have blamed the offensive woes (which were a virtual constant) on the "scheme." This included times when there was no blocking, and/or a terrible quarterback. At this point we have dramatically improved. Allen has all the potential in the world and the OL is good. That said, the team needs at least 1 receiver and a big power back. The Bills have every opportunity to be great and they are already very good. Brady has thrived with only decent receivers, (but probably will not for much, if any longer). Allen, at least at this stage of his career, needs better wideouts and there will be an abundance of them in the 2020 draft. Bottom line? Daboll is not the problem imo. He is a good football man.
