Well, I don't think that the Giant defensive unit was as talented or as balanced as certain others, for instance; the Championship Bears, The Steel Curtain, or even the Championship Bucs. I am NOT dissing the Giants defense either. They were certainly the best coached unit perhaps ever. All I am saying is that I am not so sure how they would have measured up without LT. The man was THAT good.

Obviously the Giant defenses were talented. I do however think that without Taylor, they were just another "very good" defense. Taylor was off the charts great. Tony Dorsett said he used to wake up in the middle of the night seeing visions of Taylor coming at him. I met LT once in unusual circumstances and am 100% sure he was both crazy and dangerous. That said, I never saw a better defensive player, not even Bruce.

I liken Henry to Campbell in terms of strength and his stiff arm, not in terms of speed. When Earl entered the league, he ran a 100 yard dash in 10 seconds or less. His career was cut short by injuries and overuse. He ran as well as anyone I ever saw but again, Henry has similar power and actually weighs 15 or so pounds more. Its a dream whereas Henry is a southerner. It would probably take a huge contract to get him up here but in a season like this, Bills Fans are allowed to dream. :)

Derrick is a tremendous player and would become a fan favorite in about 15 seconds. He is also a great kid. When he was at the draft combines he took time out to visit terminally ill children in a hospital. Derrick is probably the most punishing player in football today. I watched every down of his college career and I know all about this kid. He doesn't have THE quickest start but the Bills have a strong OL. After he gets a few steps I have seen players not try all that hard to tackle him. His stiff arm is reminiscent to that of Earl Campbell or even Jim Brown. He is a perfect fit for this team. With Derrick and one of these great wide receivers coming out in the 2020 draft, the Bills would be a Super Bowl contender, if not favorite. Just my long overdue opinion.

Brian Daboll has no future here
Bill from NYC replied to Tesla03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the 20 plus years I have been on this board, we have blamed the offensive woes (which were a virtual constant) on the "scheme." This included times when there was no blocking, and/or a terrible quarterback. At this point we have dramatically improved. Allen has all the potential in the world and the OL is good. That said, the team needs at least 1 receiver and a big power back. The Bills have every opportunity to be great and they are already very good. Brady has thrived with only decent receivers, (but probably will not for much, if any longer). Allen, at least at this stage of his career, needs better wideouts and there will be an abundance of them in the 2020 draft. Bottom line? Daboll is not the problem imo. He is a good football man. -
And it just a box of rain, I don't know who put it there. Believe it if you need it, or leave it if you dare. And its, just a box of rain, or a ribbon for your hair. Such a long long time to be gone, and a short time, to be there.

[Name Only Title] Tua Tagovailoa
Bill from NYC replied to r henderson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am probably the biggest fan of Tua on this board. Trent Dilfer called him the smartest QB who ever came to his camp. The kid is extremely accurate and can make every throw. I sincerely doubt that he will ever get in trouble. Just an absolute great person and player. That said, the Bills should not select him in the first round. I am still of the opinion that our receiving corps is not so threatening. I cannot say enough how many top receivers are coming out in 2020. Tall receivers, absolute speedsters, guys with great hands.....everybody. Josh Allen needs weapons and he has the arm to reach any of these kids. For the first time in more years than I can remember, I am hoping for a 1st Round wide receiver. It feels strange to even type this. -
I grew up in a large neighborhood in Queens, NY. In the entire community, I only knew of 3 or 4 kids whose parents were divorced. Today, divorced parents are more common than married couples. This article seemed to reference "Donna Reed Show" or "Father Known Best (imaginary) families. In SOME cases, if parents showed more concern for their children and less self indulgence, perhaps the kids (if not the entire family) would be better off. In any case, I for one believe the old adage "you can only be as happy as your saddest child." At least it applies to me.

Cold wind ripping down the alley at dawn and the morning paper flies. Dead man lying by the side of the road with the daylight in his eyes. Don't let it bring you down, It's only castles burning. Find someone who's turning, And you will come around. What a GREAT album!

Saban saved his career. He has no reason to hate him other than being an messed up individual. I don't know THAT much about Kiffin. I do know that his ex-wife was a super 10 and they had little daughters. When he got caught cheating she tossed him and took his cash. Saban likes reclamation projects like Kiffin, Sark, and others. He does well with them. Wrt Cochrane, he is a great asset to the Crimson Tide but I really do suspect that Saban has a replacement lined up because he is probably one of the most organized people on Earth. Thanks for the link.

I have mixed emotions on this. I mean you are probably right, but I think that we are currently in a class with any team in the league. Imo, no team completely outclasses the Buffalo Bills. Couple this with a young and improving Josh Allen, and we have a chance. That said, the 2020 draft was tailor made for the Buffalo Bills. I often wonder if Beane saw and planned for the glut of top quality receivers that will be out there in April (which I think is CLEARLY our #1 need). Sorry, but I am unaccustomed to highly skilled Bills leadership. So yes, it's a longshot, but imo the Bills still have a chance to go all the way, even this year. Next year, if they play the offseason right and stay fairly healthy, I think that they can win it all and will be one of the favorites to do so.
-
You are still so wrong about this 33. The Tide fell short this year and just didn't deserve a playoff spot. Next year will also be rough imo. Their schedule is insane but with Coach Saban a chance always seems to remain.
