Democratic 2020 Presidential Primary Thread
Bill from NYC replied to snafu's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Sure, but don't you think that "establishment dems" already pander in a huge way to so called "progressives?" i can think of 2 quick examples: 1) Perverted Uncle Joe announced that he will definitely choose a woman VP. Imo this is openly admitting that he will use sex as the determining factor rather than competence. I am all for a female president. A competent one. 2) Cuomo is emptying prisons, and was doing so before covid19. He also lit up the Empire State Building with pink lights (at taxpayer's expense) to celebrate late term abortions. He long ago declared NY a sanctuary state, to include not cooperating with ICE, free medical care, free education and even free college (while our children pay). Is this not pandering enough? Hey, I agree with you that every dem candidate in the primary was either a thief, hypocrite, psychotic, or more than one of these. My question is, how much more radical would you like them to really be? Even Sanders has 3 houses and his wife has some serious allegations. Do you view him as legit? BTW thanks for an interesting post. -

The spinoff show "Rhoda" was not number 1, was it? I used to watch re-runs before going to work on 4x12 shifts. Great show imo. And Hillary Brooks! -

Now our lives are not the same, Our whole world has been rearranged.

This, and he was not instinctive. People forget that he was 6'4"', very fast, had great arm, and perhaps his greatest skill was his accuracy. It took me at least 2 years to see what was right before my eyes. I was at Lot 1/Pole 5 tailgating with Lori, Badol and his crew and a host of others. We were talking about RJ and I was still trying to figure out the problem. A great guy named Bob Lamb said to me "Bill, he sucks." That is when it started sinking in lol!!!

Your post is a bit vague, as if you want the Bills to trade for him. That's OK too, we are all entitled to opinions. I would agree with you on the premise that Lawrence is clearly superior to Burrow. It doesn't make me right of course. I'm the guy who thought Rob Johnson would be a great quarterback.

I'm going to run with Aunt Esther on Sanford and Son. She (imo) was one of the funniest characters in the history of entertainment. It was impossible for me not to laugh, especially when she came close to physical attacks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRmpCd5cJ4Y -

How about Lt. Scanlon from Barney Miller? There were guys in IAD who were just as petty. I'm talking about cops getting busted for getting 2 scoops on an ice cream cone and only being charged for one. One douche was in Nathans and ran up to the register to see if I paid full price (which I did). Scanlon was hilarious, and you could see how mad at him the detectives would get. I'm telling you that show was more realistic than most would think. -
When you put your arms around me...I feel so satisfied I want to love you forever...I just can't...I can't decide Every time I move I lose...when I look I'm in And every time I turn around...I'm back in love again (right back, right back...in love again) Alright (seems like, seems like) Back in love...again

He had white horses And ladies by the score All dressed in satin And waiting by the door Ooh, what a lucky man he was Ooh, what a lucky man he was White lace and feathers They made up his bed A gold covered mattress On which he was laid Ooh, what a lucky man he was Ooh, what a lucky man he was

It would probably also make a top 20 screen name.

Not just a fad cause it's been going on so long All the surfers going strong They said it wouldn't last too long They'll eat their words with a fork and spoon And watch 'em they'll hit the road and all be surfin' soon And when they, catch a wave they'll be sittin' on top of the world

You walked out of my dreams and into my arms Now you're my angel divine You're sixteen, you're beautiful and you're mine You're my baby, you're my pet We fell in love on the night we met You touched my hand, my heart went pop Ooh, when we kissed I could not…

I always thought that he was a fairly good player.

Thanks for the kind words. Remember, this time I was responding to a post about the 1991 draft. Going back even before that, the Bills were wasting prime picks on the secondary. Trust me, I am perfectly aware that the running game (and stopping it) was at least twice as important as it is today. This is beyond dispute. Would Ted have been a better pick than Hansen? Certainly. Hansen was a wonderful player but he played opposite Bruce Smith and even with Bryce Paup for a while. Would Ted have been a better pick than Jones? Of course, and he too was a fine player. Did you see our 3rd and 4th picks in 91? Realistically, that draft was primarily devoted to the secondary. As for more recent selections, we drafted Gilmore (who didn't want to be here and dogged it quite often) when we had no quarterback. We also walked away from Mahomes and Watson while not having a quarterback and took yet another corner. Was Gilmore good? Yes. Is Tre good? Yes, perhaps bordering exceptional. Were these smart moves? No, they were stupid. I'm not sure of your position on these and other moves like it throughout the years. Some will justify anything the Bills do or have done. I can't do this. Again, I place the bulk of the blame on Levy. I'm sure that Marv was a nice man. Am I one of his fans? No I am not and I think other coaches (and yikes, GMs) would have won numerous Super Bowls with the talent that the Bills had over the years. Jmo and thanks for the dialogue.
