  1. AJ had a better OL, maybe the best ever, AND a much better defense that the 2019 Crimson Tide. Nothing to see here. Because the Dolphins didn't draft him.
  2. That WOULD be a surprise to me. There were several times in his career that he just didn't produce against the better defenses, although he did come through at other times as well. Jalen is a very good runner but he isn't a speedster. He is more of a strong runner which is somewhat uncommon for a qb. He can throw deep but he needs to step into throws more than many quarterbacks, and he isn't known for his fastball. Jalen played on teams with great offensive weapons. At Alabama, he had more defensive help than Tua had last year. I am also of the opinion that he didn't face any real defensive competition at Oklahoma. He is a smart, confident young man. I think that he would do well to play as a backup to a quarterback that is not particularly mobile for a nice change of pace. I wish him well and am quite thankful to him for the way he handled himself after being benched. I can only imagine how tough on him it was. He (and the players) had to know it was coming. He even played very poorly in the "A" Game and it sealed his fate. I hope he DOES get drafted early, makes a ton of money, and has a great career. Do I view him as a first round QB? No, I do not. Jmro.
  3. Forty thousand headmen couldn't make me change my mind, If I had to choose between the deaf man and the blind. I know just where my feet should go and that's enough for me, I turned around and knocked them down and walked across the sea.
  4. Is it OK if they are chosen by what sex they identify as?
  5. That WAS a bold prediction HD, if for no other reason, the kid is virtually impossible to cover.
  6. Awesome, thanks!!!!! I was just a kid and certainly not rich. The line was 4 1/2 and I thought that it should have been 14.
  7. I hate to say it but I keep seeing Jedrick Willis Jr. in the top 10 and I can't understand why. The kid is good, very talented but top 10? He plays RT (yeah I get it, Tua is left handed) and he seemed to lose concentration on too many plays, resulting in penalties that would drive Saban insane. This is strange too because I have heard him talk and he seems to be a smart kid. Do I view him as a first rounder? I guess so. A top 10 pick? Not if I was the GM. Do I like him more than I liked Kouandjio coming out of college? Yes, much more and I warned you all about CK. You guys never expected this post lol. If I have time tonight I will give my ratings of the Alabama draft eligibles.
  8. Roger Carr: 2 Receptions/136 yards/1 TD
  9. I'm not sure it was the best football year, but the Super Bowl in 1977 was my happiest non-Bills pro football moment in time. I am not a bettor but this was one of 2 sporting events in my life that I was absolutely sure of the outcome before the game. I was an AFC Fan and had seen lots of Raider games. They were playing the famous, feared "Purple People Eaters," the Minnesota Vikings. I could see that despite weight listings (which I still do not trust to this day), the Raiders were twice the size of the Vikes and had perhaps the best OL of all time. I actually bet $250 on the game and I really wonder how much that would be in today's dollars. They destroyed Minnesota. My parents almost never went anywhere, ever but they were away for the weekend. I threw a party for 30 or so guys and girls. What a freaking night!!! PS: Sorry folks but the only other time I was this sure was the title game between Alabama/Notre Dame (2012?). Looking back, it was almost for the exact same reasons.
  10. 'Course I make a little money Haulin' coal by the ton But when Sunday rolls around I'm too tired, for having fun I'm just workin' in the coal mine Goin' down down down Workin' in the coal mine Oops, about to slip down.
  11. I am not so sure if Russia and China are "allies." One would think that the lack of demand for oil is hurting Russia, but they are still a world power due to their weaponry. You are young but if you read up on it, China didn't like Russia as far back as Nixon and Kissenger. Those two are said to have paved the way for our relationship with China. Call me simplistic, but imo we could really hurt China by consumerism. It may sound banal but simply "buying American" would cost us a bit more initially but benefit us in the long run. I am not wanting to "punish" them, but; I resent how dependent on them that we seem to be. They were getting away with murder in terms of tariffs with previous administrations. Hopefully, Americans have had enough after this disaster, which might have been intentional. This we will never know.
  12. The above is very good information, and clearly points to Sammy being a "good" player, if not perhaps very good. What just so many don't understand is that being a "good" player doesn't make one a good draft pick. Things like the draft slot, cost of a trade, who the Bills management passed on to take him, and even other factors determine whether or not someone was a good draft selection for a football team. Donte Whitner at #8 cost us 36 million in real cap dollars. He held out, had off field incidents, and almost never took over a game and won it for us. Yet, he was a "good" player? Was he a good pick? No, and great players were selected after him.
  13. I'm going where the sun keeps shining Through the pouring rain Going where the weather, suits my clothes Banking off of the northeast winds Sailing on a summer breeze And skipping over the ocean, like a stone
  14. If I had my choice of matter I'd would rather be with cats All engrossed in mental chatter Showing where your mind is at While relating to each other How strong the love can be By resisting all the good times with each groovy chick we see I'm a man yes I am and I can't help but love you so I'm a man yes I am and I can't help but love you so
  15. Had motor trouble it turned into a struggle, half way 'cross Alabam, The 'hound broke down left us all stranded in downtown Birmingham. Straight off bought me a through train ticket, right across Mississippi clean And I was on the midnight flyer out of Birmingham Smoking into New Orleans. Somebody help me get out of Louisiana Just help me get to Houston town. People are there who care a little 'bout me And they won't let the poor boy down. Sure as she bore me, she bought me a silk suit, put luggage in my hands, And I woke up high over Albuquerque On a jet to the promised land
  16. Jason Peters was signed as a free agent or he would have been my top choice hands down. Because the question was "worst pick'" not "worst player."
  17. Best: Kyle Williams, easily I might add Worst: Whitner in the same draft. There were great players that we passed on to take him. In fact, Levy said that he turned down numerous trade down offers to take this undersized safety. I don't think that any draft pick set the team back to this extent, although a case could be made for White.
  18. Yes, Fitz being better than Allen is a sad and scary scenario, one which I thankfully doubt.
  19. Not only that, he was smart, fast on his feet, and big. There was no phase of the game at which he didn't excel. It's hard to describe his arm strength, and I was young when I watched him but I'm thinking that his arm was a mixture of Marino and Bledsoe.
  20. If Jones didn't get injured, he would be one of the best ever. Much better than Fergy, who WAS good, but not even close to Jones. Jmo.
  21. What is the difference between Neil Armstrong and Michael Jackson? Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. Michael Jackson slept with kids.
