Jets may also be shopping Q Williams.

Not necessarily. The Jets are tanking, no? Losing Williams would HELP the Jets, not hurt them. If the Jets lose out and draft 1st, they will make untold money by drafting Lawrence. Seriously. -

Hard to say. I will state point blank that I am SURE that he is a very good football player. About this I have no doubt. Still in all, I think that he went a bit early in the draft and remember saying so on this board with @BADOLBILZ. Now, what would be the cost? That is clearly the deciding factor under any conditions. A late 1st? A 2nd and a 4th? I suppose it would depend on how much Beane (notice I said Beane, not McDermott) thinks that we need him. That said, would the Jets trade him in the division? Normally I would say no way, but I make the case that they are CLEARLY tanking. I said this before I heard anything about this article. I think that the possibility exists that we could get him. As I said in another post, Lawrence in NY (NJ) would be the next Joe Namath in terms of hype, etc. He would make the owner of the Jets untold millions and increase the value of the franchise by a billion or so. As always, jmo. -
This really sucks. Coach Saban is working from home and Coach Sarkasian is apparently in charge, I guess as much as this is possible. Nick Saban is a short tempered, brusque individual. He is also a very religious man and a huge donor to charity. As much as I want the Tide to defeat Georgia on Saturday, what is most important to me is that Coach Saban has a complete and speedy recovery. The man looks great and is said to be symptom free, but he isn't young. My prayers go out to him and his loved ones, and I suspect that he is just so tough that he will pull through this menace. Get well Coach Saban!!!!! ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fair enough.

3 years in the NFL is like 30 years in the real world.

Dave, do you think that this was another "tank" move by the Jets? I for one do think so.

I do. I do not want Trevor Lawrence in our division.

Falcons fire HC Dan Quinn and GM Thomas Dimitroff

OK. In that case he might want to stay down south. Also, NYC at this time.....let me just say that NYC has seen better days and leave it at that. Otoh, I am unable to imagine the Jets winning a game. One thing is certain.....this will be quite the interesting off season. -
This really sucks. I had no idea that we lost so many baseball players this year, to include 6 hall of famers. https://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/baseball_deaths.php?y=2020

Maybe. But wouldn't he be passing up on 35 million dollars or somewhere close to it? I know nothing of his economic background. Also, if he signs with one of the New Jersey teams (a very strong possibility imo), I can't begin to imagine the amount of money he will make. Rogers and Manning make a few bucks in advertisements, no? Now I am talking about NY money, in addition to the women and the nightlife. We are talking about the next Joe Namath in terms of hype. I'm curious.....do you think that the NFL DESPERATELY wants Trevor to play in NJ? I do and if I was betting on games I would bet accordingly. My guess is that he goes to the Jets but as always, JMO. -

NFL Launches LGBTQ History Month PSA
Bill from NYC replied to WotAGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mick, I am not seeing much resistance here to the ad campaign. Are you sure that the above isn't just a dig at folks that you thought would be outraged and object to this gesture by the NFL? Peace. -

I don't believe that he started the thread. -

Are you being antgonistic for any specific reason, or just having fun? Funny, but I remember reading something about keeping politics off this board. I suppose I need clarification. It's probably me. -
Come Saturday morning I'm goin' away with my friend Well Saturday-laugh more than half of the day Just I and my friend (my friend) Dressed up in our rings and our Saturday things And then we'll move on But we will remember Long after Saturday's gone

All around I see the purple shades of evening And on the ground The shadows fall and one again you're in my arms So tenderly The sidewalks in the street, The concrete and the clay beneath my feet Begins to crumble But love will never die Because we'll see the mountains tumble Before we say goodbye.

Haskins benched in Washington
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks, this makes sense. Many folks are not equipped at a young age to be given millions of dollars and still have the same drive to work hard. When I was his age, I can't say for sure how well I would have acted with my pockets stuffed with huge, guaranteed cash. -

Are there any rumors about Haskins having behavioral issues? A demotion is one thing but this move did seem rather drastic, no? -
I am posting this not because it is the greatest song ever, but because it stood the test of time. Decades ago this band (IF) was compared to Steve Winwood and called the "English version of Chicago." I doubt many of you have heard this, but pleae chime in if you have. It's a suite which contains rock, horns, jazz, and great vocals. I do hope you enjoy, here comes "Sunday Sad." https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=if2+sundy+sad&pc=EUPP_UF01&mkt=en-us&httpsmsn=1&msnews=1&rec_search=1&refig=e6a19688c08a4f73ab11389672691734&sp=-1&pq=if2+sundy+sad&sc=1-13&qs=n&sk=&cvid=e6a19688c08a4f73ab11389672691734&ru=%2fsearch%3fq%3dif2%2bsundy%2bsad%26form%3dPRHPC1%26pc%3dEUPP_UF01%26mkt%3den-us%26httpsmsn%3d1%26msnews%3d1%26rec_search%3d1%26refig%3de6a19688c08a4f73ab11389672691734%26sp%3d-1%26pq%3dif2%2bsundy%2bsad%26sc%3d1-13%26qs%3dn%26sk%3d%26cvid%3de6a19688c08a4f73ab11389672691734&view=detail&mmscn=vwrc&mid=40A97F35333CC6851D9240A97F35333CC6851D92&FORM=WRVORC

I am guessing that they wish they drafted Tua. -
Rat in a drain ditch, caught on a limb, you know better but I know him. Like I told you, what I said, Steal your face right off your head. Now he's gone, now he's gone, Lord he's gone, he's gone. Like a steam locomotive, rollin' down the track He's gone, gone, nothin's gonna bring him back, he's gone. Nine mile skid, on a ten mile ride, hot as a pistol but cool inside. Cat on a tin roof, dogs in a pile, Nothin' left to do but smile, smile, smile! Now he's gone, now he's gone Lord he's gone, he's gone. Like a steam locomotive, rollin' down the track He's gone, gone, nothin's gonna bring him back, he's gone.

The End of the Lamar Jackson Era
Bill from NYC replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good point wrt OJ. The game has changed to the degree that the running back position has been seriously diminished in importance. Don't misunderstand, I love a good running game and a player like Derek Henry is very exciting to me, but today fans seem to want high power passing games and Arena League scores. Old timers like us tend to prefer balanced offenses and strong defenses. -
The End of the Lamar Jackson Era
Bill from NYC replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good points. Before Brady passed him, Joe Montana was regarded by a whole lot of fans and sportswriters as the GOAT, however; I heard MANY players say that they felt that Steve Young was better than him. One thing is certain, running quarterbacks are thrilling to watch both in the NFL and college. That said, they get hurt. It virtually HAS to happen because every NFL player gets hurt and a running quarterback increases his exposure. The rules are set up now to protect QBs and running and getting hit by genetic mutants can work in the short term, but will eventually get a QB slaughtered. Btw the above includes our Josh. I was VERY happy when we drafted him and I didn't even know that he was a great runner. He has the potential to be the most exciting player in the history of the Bills. Yeah, I know this is a bold statement. My wish for him is that as time passes he runs less, the thrill of watching him do so notwithstanding. In summary, Jackson is a fine QB imo. I don't know if the will ever have an "era," however he is good enough to win titles for his team IF he lasts. As always, JMO.
