All around I see the purple shades of evening And on the ground The shadows fall and one again you're in my arms So tenderly The sidewalks in the street, The concrete and the clay beneath my feet Begins to crumble But love will never die Because we'll see the mountains tumble Before we say goodbye.

Haskins benched in Washington
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks, this makes sense. Many folks are not equipped at a young age to be given millions of dollars and still have the same drive to work hard. When I was his age, I can't say for sure how well I would have acted with my pockets stuffed with huge, guaranteed cash. -

Are there any rumors about Haskins having behavioral issues? A demotion is one thing but this move did seem rather drastic, no? -
I am posting this not because it is the greatest song ever, but because it stood the test of time. Decades ago this band (IF) was compared to Steve Winwood and called the "English version of Chicago." I doubt many of you have heard this, but pleae chime in if you have. It's a suite which contains rock, horns, jazz, and great vocals. I do hope you enjoy, here comes "Sunday Sad." https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=if2+sundy+sad&pc=EUPP_UF01&mkt=en-us&httpsmsn=1&msnews=1&rec_search=1&refig=e6a19688c08a4f73ab11389672691734&sp=-1&pq=if2+sundy+sad&sc=1-13&qs=n&sk=&cvid=e6a19688c08a4f73ab11389672691734&ru=%2fsearch%3fq%3dif2%2bsundy%2bsad%26form%3dPRHPC1%26pc%3dEUPP_UF01%26mkt%3den-us%26httpsmsn%3d1%26msnews%3d1%26rec_search%3d1%26refig%3de6a19688c08a4f73ab11389672691734%26sp%3d-1%26pq%3dif2%2bsundy%2bsad%26sc%3d1-13%26qs%3dn%26sk%3d%26cvid%3de6a19688c08a4f73ab11389672691734&view=detail&mmscn=vwrc&mid=40A97F35333CC6851D9240A97F35333CC6851D92&FORM=WRVORC

Haskins benched in Washington

I am guessing that they wish they drafted Tua. -
Rat in a drain ditch, caught on a limb, you know better but I know him. Like I told you, what I said, Steal your face right off your head. Now he's gone, now he's gone, Lord he's gone, he's gone. Like a steam locomotive, rollin' down the track He's gone, gone, nothin's gonna bring him back, he's gone. Nine mile skid, on a ten mile ride, hot as a pistol but cool inside. Cat on a tin roof, dogs in a pile, Nothin' left to do but smile, smile, smile! Now he's gone, now he's gone Lord he's gone, he's gone. Like a steam locomotive, rollin' down the track He's gone, gone, nothin's gonna bring him back, he's gone.

The End of the Lamar Jackson Era
Bill from NYC replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good point wrt OJ. The game has changed to the degree that the running back position has been seriously diminished in importance. Don't misunderstand, I love a good running game and a player like Derek Henry is very exciting to me, but today fans seem to want high power passing games and Arena League scores. Old timers like us tend to prefer balanced offenses and strong defenses. -
The End of the Lamar Jackson Era
Bill from NYC replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good points. Before Brady passed him, Joe Montana was regarded by a whole lot of fans and sportswriters as the GOAT, however; I heard MANY players say that they felt that Steve Young was better than him. One thing is certain, running quarterbacks are thrilling to watch both in the NFL and college. That said, they get hurt. It virtually HAS to happen because every NFL player gets hurt and a running quarterback increases his exposure. The rules are set up now to protect QBs and running and getting hit by genetic mutants can work in the short term, but will eventually get a QB slaughtered. Btw the above includes our Josh. I was VERY happy when we drafted him and I didn't even know that he was a great runner. He has the potential to be the most exciting player in the history of the Bills. Yeah, I know this is a bold statement. My wish for him is that as time passes he runs less, the thrill of watching him do so notwithstanding. In summary, Jackson is a fine QB imo. I don't know if the will ever have an "era," however he is good enough to win titles for his team IF he lasts. As always, JMO. -
I find it impossible to argue with this post. Seriously, talk about hitting the nail on the head!!! Yes,after the strike, people found out that there were other things to do in the summer than watch baseball. Then McGuire came along with 18 inch forearms and was hitting 550 ft. home runs. Steroids ruled the day and even the ball was juiced. Today, whether or not we agree with them, there is ZERO doubt that some fans are furious with the politics of the NFL and some of the players. The NFL isn't stupid and wants these big spending fans back. Period. Again, great post.

Buffalo SB Win OR Election Victory?

In the "credit where it's due" department, you do raise a very good point. -
I sent a letter to a man I know Said, "One for the money and two for the show" I wait all summer for his reply Said, "Three to get ready and four to fly" Only two things in the world I love That's rock 'n' roll and my turtle dove When I was a young man, I needed good luck But I'm a little bit older now and I know my stuff Come on honey let me sing 'em away Come on honey let me sing 'em away Oh honey let me sing your blues away

Inside track on Lawrence after 2 weeks?
Bill from NYC replied to 4merper4mer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am going to respectfully, but strongly disagree. I don't think that Lawrence and Fields are on the same planet. Lawrence is 5x better as a passer and he too can move. Of course, this is jmo. Yours is an interesting scenario. I would consider it even a bit low for this kid. He might be considered the best prospect since Petyton Manning or even John Elway. -

Buffalo SB Win OR Election Victory?
Bill from NYC replied to Numark3's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Taking it even a step further, this election means more to me that a Bills Super Bowl and a National Title for the Crimson Tide combined, but I will not be in a crying room if my candidate loses. -

100% election victory. Buffalo will have more chances to win than both candidates. -
I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes. The love that's all around me, And so the feeling grows.
