Only 2 teams put in requests to interview Daboll
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know if this counts, but Daboll was a GREAT OC at Alabama. I do however think that Saban didn't grant him as much autonomy as he gave to Sarkisian, and I'm not sure why. I was told by supposed "insiders" that Daboll was pushing to start Tua over Hurts, but Saban wouldn't allow it. If this is true (and I am NOT trying to vouch for the veracity of these claims), that means that he won a title without his choice at QB, who as we know won the championship game. I agree with you that it was a very good thing for Josh to work in a complicated Daboll offense, especially taking into consideration that he came from Wyoming. It also appears that Josh really likes Daboll. I for one hope that he stays in Buffalo, but I also think that he will be a fine head coach down the road. Jmo Brother. -

I once saw a conversation between "Tortured Soul" and Pass the Pipe." Pills n Bills was also great! We were just so bad in those days. Still, the one is this thread is fantastic!!!

I was never that fond of Riemersma. He was a slow, poor blocking, possession receiver with bad hands. Once in a while he would make a play. That was about it imo.

Gunner's 2021 FINAL Mock Draft on PAGE 21
Bill from NYC replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wrong? I thought that when the Bills traded for Rob Johnson, he would lead us to a Superbowl. Keep doing what you're doing. ๐ -
Yeah, it even looked like he was wiping his hand on the guy's shirt. I never was THAT drunk. ๐ฒ

I think that one had quite a bit more restraint than the other. ๐คจ๐

Yep. He even had a slight smirk as if he knew how easy it was going to be. I learned MANY years ago that in life, you often just don't know who you are f%$#*&g around with.

I would have to say that Lonnie was even worse than Robert Royal who dropped almost everything he touched. After Pete Metzalaars, the Bills were consistently weak at the TE position. I will never forget when we were having a pregame beer at RWS. We were talking about the Bills and I mentioned that as bad as he was, Royal seemed to be good at getting open. You replied that he was in fact not good at getting open, and that his hands were just so bad that other teams stopped covering him. To be perfectly honest, I didn't believe you and thought it impossible for an NFL TE to not be covered. Yeah well then I went up to my seats. They were up high around the 40 where I could see virtually everything, and sure enough; Royal was runniung patterns all by himself lol. My crew were cracking up saying, "Badol was right!" Not only that, he seemed fast but it looked like his arms and legs were not in synch, and just flopping around. To this day I can't believe what I saw. This was an NFL player who we signed as a free agent. I think that he even played at LSU!!! Have you ever seen any other revceiver that defenses didn't even bother to cover?

Morse is a good player and does not deserve to be a "whipping boy." He also has serious health issues and as you point out, a large contract. If I was the GM, I would plan on and prepare for his departure. The position is that important. Jmo.

Someone found a letter you wrote me on the radio And they told the world just how you felt It must have fallen out of a hole in your old brown overcoat They never said your name But I knew just who they meant Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh I was so surprised and shocked, and I wondered, too If, by chance, you heard it for yourself I never told a soul just how I've been feeling over you But they said it really loud, they said it on the air On the radio

Gunner's 2021 FINAL Mock Draft on PAGE 21
Bill from NYC replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Josh is great. He is easily a top 5 QB in this league and still improving. I was thrilled the day he was drafted and have been since. I am merely saying that having a good backup is a big asset to have, and very important imo. Once again, maybe they think Fromm is the answer at #2, and he might be! -
Gunner's 2021 FINAL Mock Draft on PAGE 21

Slow down Slugger!!! ๐ The suggestion was in reference to Gunner's mock draft, and Mac falling into the VERY LATE second round. The Bills have a quarterback who likes to run, and is great at doing so. Running quarterbacks are taking a very large risk, but you already knew this. Or did you? If Josh ges hurt, wouldn't you want a solid backup? I don't know, maybe the coaches think that Fromm is capable. If not then yes, the Bills need a backup qb. Now, would I take one in round 1? No I would not. -
