  1. Derrick Henry is pretty good too. For years, Saban has preferred game managers as QBs, so it appears that Bama has less stars. That said, check out the WRs.
  2. OK, but don't you think things have improved in that regard? There are stars from Alabama all over the league, let alone a udfa like Levi Wallace making a damn good living. There will always be a few players who go crazy when the get away from Saban., and fail. I get this, but; the situation has improved in recent years.
  3. Hopefully, the days of the Bills making stupid trades in which they get the short end of the stick are over. The Bills have a real GM now.
  4. Agreed. Interestingly, first round picks on guards historically seem to have a lower bust rate than many other positions. This is probably due to what you mentioned above imo.
  5. When Coach Saban arrived at Alabama, the place was a mess. An absolute mess that he transformed into one of the greatest dynasties in all of sports. This is a coach that loses his coordinators and a slew of position coaches virtually every season. Coach Saban doesn't hire assistants for what they can bring to the team. He isn't as he says trying to "reinvent the wheel." He hires based on how they will fit into his system. The term "process" that Coach McDermott likes to stand on was invented a long ago by Coach Saban and was co opted by McDermott. It seems to be working rather well at that, no? I also remind you that Alabama is not like Hawaii or Southern California, with beautiful beaches and rich folks all over the place. Players come to Alabama to work, and a slew of them buy into the system, and get rich. It's working for us in Buffalo too. I like Coach McDermott and it is about time we had a highly capable coach. That said, fear not. If he should falter, Coach Saban would almost certainly give him an interview to be a coordinator. He already bought onto the "process." OK. Not so special players from all of the other schools come out and "dominate the pros." C'mon, seriously?
  6. It is a late pick and we need one but no, a first round running back is generally not my thing. Especially if he is a gadget player which Najee is not.
  7. Agreed and she should certainly be fired.
  8. The student was 18. I know teacher/student is wrong, but an 18 year old ,male? I can see her getting fired but not sent to jail. Am I supposed to feel sorry for this kid? Maybe I'm just too old school.
  9. When I get restless, what can I do? When I need someone I think about you I got to move on, not fade away I'm only just growing a little each day Chorus: (Hold it) I got to quit this runnin' 'round (Hold it) Never gonna get rid of these blues (Hold it) I got to find somebody to love Slow me down, yeah My, what a time (Look out now) Sit yourself down, take a look around
  10. Take my hand, come with me baby, to Love Land Let me show you how sweet it could be Sharing love with me, I want you to Float, float on Float on, float on
  11. Josh is one of the hardest working players I have ever seen. He was a 3 star who barely made the Alabama team at the last minute. He is not too fast and not too big but look at what he has accomplished. At one point he was living in a car with his dad. Najee is another hard worker and as Gunner says above, would be an immediate impact player. I wouldn't shed a tear if we took him in round 1.
  12. Yes, a few posts back I talked a bit about Patrick Surtain. He is good but I expect him to be gone. And as you might have guessed, I do not want the Bills to draft another 1st round corner.
  13. You are correct. Surtain is a corner with very good size, strength and instincts. Had had his best and most consistent season this year. I have seen faster corners but he is obviously very talented. There does not seem to be an abundance of highly sought after corners this season, so he will be gone early. Gunner loves the kid, I like him but he will be gone way before we pick. I would say that this is a strong possibility.
  14. It really is close! Davonta has better hands no doubt. Jaylen is faster and even harder to cover imo. Jaylen is better on kick returns. They are both splendid players.
  15. Again, assuming 100% health I would lean towards Waddle for the Bills because of Allen's arm strength. For most teams I would want Davonta. Great description! Najee is great around the goal line too. He knows how to leave his feet and let the 230 pounds of momentum carry him
  16. People are generally not going to tell you the truth in that situation.
  17. When folks tell you that they had 2 shots or 2 drinks, you know what that usually means.
  18. I have never seen him play Guard but he is a very big kid. He is listed at 6'5"/325.
  19. Barmore is a street kid from North Philly. He would walk into the league as a pure badass. I'm told that he was a bit late buying into the system and staying in his lanes. He REALLY came around as a player this season, and I did indicate that there is some risk. One thing I can say for sure, this kid seems to be much meaner than Dareus. I always thought of Marcel as a nice guy and a lost soul. Barmore comes on the field to dominate and doesn't let up. For some players it is hard to do this with a couple of million dollars in your pocket and no Coach Saban to control their lives. If I was a young millionaire at his age, I suspect I might have been partying a bit too much. I hope this kid makes it. He is a sensational talent imo.
  20. Davonta has better hands than Jeudy and gets open more than Ruggs. Jeudy is a bit faster than Davonta, Ruggs is faster than almost anybody. Fwiw, The Tide is said to have an incoming freshman wr who runs a 4.15 40. I didn't even know that was possible.
  21. If Waddle recovers 100% from his ankle injury, there is not a doubt in my mind that he will be a flat out star in the NFL. Again, he looks impossible to cover. He fakes people out of their shoes, is super fast, and has some of the best moves I have ever seen in my life. I'm not exagerating.
  22. Dickerson practiced against Barmore. That says something too.
