  1. Everybody's trembling and running around Picking up their money, tearing the tepee down Foreman wants a penny about to go insane Trying to get the workers out the way of the train Engineer blowing the whistle loud and long Can't stop the train, gotta let it roll on
  2. OK but past results indicate that it would probably result in a losing season.
  3. Thanks for this. Maybe my pessimism is the based on same reasons as those who are skeptical about Mac Jones. Both of them made it look easy but they played on great teams, and neither was a starter for a long period of time (1 year for Mac). I already had quite a bit of respect for OSU but it really did increase this season. They played Alabama with some important players missing and fought until the end. They will be a force for many years. Perhaps I fell into the trap of thinking that it's easy to go to one of these schools and excel. It helps, but it isn't that simple. I look forward to seeing what Fields will do in the NFL.
  4. When lonely days turn to lonely nights You take a trip to the city lights And take the long way home Take the long way home You never see what you want to see Forever playing to the gallery You take the long way home Take the long way home
  5. I am not sure what to think about Fields. I don't want to offend you Yolo but my instinctive reaction is that he is not all that good. I AM sure about how good OSU is. Fields? Not as much. I would appreciate learning your opinion of him. I think that when one watches every game and every play of a college kid, their opinion is worth some weight.
  6. Your post is interesting and true, but I suspect that things have changed at least to some degree. In many of the really old sitcoms (Bewitched, Hazel, Leave it to Beaver, Dennis the Menace, Honeymooners), the husbands looked either older or dorky and the wives ranged from fairly hot or to somewhat attractive. I don't watch any current sitcoms but it seems that in movies, things are evening out to some degree. One advantage women have over men is that we are much easier to read than they are. Of course this would vary from person to person but it is a generalization that always made lots of sense to me. Of course, all of the above is jmo.
  7. The waiting is the hardest part Every day you see one more card You take it on faith, you take it to the heart The waiting is the hardest part
  8. If you read my post I made it a point not to attest to the veracity of this claim. That said, I find the scenario you describe (which I believe) to be both ironic and funny. It also does cast aspersions on just how poorly we drafted in those days. A 12 year old kid with a copy of Pro Football Weekly would have known not to draft Parrish. Remember, even though he was a second rounder, he was our first pick in that particular draft. Beane has made a glaring error or two, but it does feel great to have a professional GM with a clue, let alone an owner who lets him do his job. 👍
  9. It wouldn't surprise me if much of his success was due to playing alongside Pitts.
  10. I don't know if this is true, but I remember hearing that while in Buffalo he opened his door, saw snow, and ran back inside.
  11. Alex Leatherwood. In some drafts he would be a top 10 pick. This year happens to be loaded with OL talent or so it seems.
  12. Is he Roscoe Parrish Part II?
  13. Barmore was picked at 29.
  14. I saw another video of Henry standing on one foot and practice pushing NFL players away from him. He is one of the strongest players in the NFL at any size.
  15. While I would be OK with Harris, I am hoping for one of 2 different players. I won't post their names untl they are selected.
  16. GREAT selection!!! Nobody in college could cover him. Let's see if anybody in the NFL can. Best TE coming out in 30 or so years imo. Another great choice, even if he has to sit on the bench for a year. This mock draft looks what I consider to be more accurate than any I have ever seen on this board. Nice work!
  17. I ended up back in a hospital bed 'Cause my horse fell on my bad leg (Oh, that's bad) No, that's good 'Cause just when I was feeling my worst I fell in love with a beautiful nurse (Oh, that's good) No, that's bad 'Cause I found out she was the doctor's wife Now I'll be in a wheelchair the rest of my life 'Cause no matter how I pleaded and begged He operated on my good leg (Oh, that's bad) No, that's awful
  18. If you ever feel lonesome And you're down in San Antone Beg, steal or borrow two nickels or a dime To call me on the phone And I'll meet you at Alamo Mission We can say our prayers The Holy Ghost and the Virgin Mother will heal us As we kneel there In the moonlight, in the midnight In the moonlight, midnight moonlight In the moonlight, in the midnight In the moonlight, midnight moonlight

  20. I have been saying for weeks that Pitts is a top 10 pick, perhaps top 5. In college he was virtually impossible to cover, even when he is doubled. He also took coverage away from other receivers, which made their lives much easier, let alone the QB. Again, I liken him to Kellen Winslow Sr. and this is quite the compliment.
  21. So do I. Did you ever see the HBO film "Belichick and Saban?" The 2 of them have a very strong relationship for approx. 40 years. Coincidently, they both happen to be Croation. Belichick states that he values Saban's opinion more than anyone in football. Saban has certainly already talked to him about Mac. Before the season (and early into it), I heard Saban say several times that it was important for Mac to "stay within himself." Looking back, I think that this was because 2020 was his first chance to be the starting qb. Davonta Smith (who if you recall I wanted the Bills to draft last season before he decided to remain in school) gets credit for much of Mac's sucess, but Mac did great things with an injured Waddle (who is a superstar), and again, little experience. I predict big things for Mac. Do I think he is a better prospect than Trevor? No. I think that Lawrence is the best prospect since Elway. I'm not even joking. I also think that Mac would benefit greatly from some time on the bench. Jmo.
  22. I'm not sure if we could get Pitts by trading our entire draft.
  23. If you think that Mac isn't going to be a star player in the NFL, you are not alone, although Kiper has him going at #15 to NE in his mock. Coming into this season, I didn't even think that he would start at Alabama. He had to compete for his job and beat out perhaps the top ranked freshman QB in the country. He worked hard, listened to his great coaching staff, set records, finished high in the Heisman voting, and won a National Championship. I will never doubt him again. Jmo.
