CFB Playoffs: Cotton Bowl/ UC v Bama
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in College Football
I wish I could agree with you buy imo Georgia is WAY better than you seem to think they are. In fact, I read somewhere that Georgia is opening at minus 3 1/2. What I am confused about it the quality of the Big Ten in 2021. I just can't tell how good they are and after the GA/Mich game I am even more confused. -
Big Ben might, might not, maybe, but probably retiring.

How many miles will it take To see the sun And how many years until it's done Kiss my confusion away in the night Lay by side when the morning comes And the baby looks around him And shares his bed of hay With the burrow in the palace of the king He's a stranger in a strange land Tell me why He's a stranger in a strange land Just a stranger in a strange land

I didn't say that I am sure it will happen; I was just broaching the possibility. When push comes to shove, many players want to play on the big stage. Henry To'o To'o is a prime example. He could have stayed at Tennessee but their program is floundering, and has been for some time. Now he is calling signals at Alabama and imo, would be an interesting draft pick at ILB. He already got great exposure (the SEC Title Game vs. GA) and is headed for the playoffs. Scouts and GMs obviously watch these games. I'm not sure if you caught this but Alabama recently signed former LSU Cornerback Eli Ricks from the portal, and he is at least in the top 5 corners in the NCAA. They also just signed an excellent RB in Jahmyr Gibbs from Georgia Tech. Btw Saban wasn't a fan of the tranfer portal and warned that the rich would get richer. He tends to know what he is talking about. -
Many a mile to freedom, many a smile to tell Ask my bluebird to sing you, from the heart of a wishing well Call all my reindeer to graze here, call all my grain to grow Then together we flow like the river Then together we melt like the snow

As I recall, he was 4th if not 5th string. I'm serious. When he transferred out, nobody cared as far as I know. I too wish him well except for Saturday.

We need more speed at wide receiver. I would prefer giving Roscoe Parrish another shot. -

Lets see where he plays next season, no? -
Wow, Georgia has players out including their QB. The NCAA announced there weird rules about teams stricken with covid and unable to field a team having to forfeit!!! Can anyone begin to imagine the exploding heads across America if Alabama (whose OC and OL Coach (Marrone) tested positive) was named the national champions by virtue of covid?????? @ArdmoreRyno if the above happens, I am here to help. All kidding aside, Happy Holidays and enjoy the games (if they happen). https://wolverineswire.usatoday.com/2021/12/22/georgia-bulldogs-jt-daniels-george-pickens-in-covid-19-protocol-nine-days-before-college-football-playoff/

Annual Way Too Early Mock Draft '22 edition
Bill from NYC replied to thunderingsquid's topic in College Football
He never really recovered from the injury. I think that he will. I will say that almost every poster on this board said that Mac Jones would suck. Some still think this. I do not. He will never, ever be as good as Josh, but the kid is smart and he can play. Every year before the draft I rate the Alabama players. Of course I have missed on some, but I’m usually close. Last season was easy. -

Interesting. What do you think he would bring in a trade? Could they get a 3rd round pick? -

LOL! The thing is BB that these are the players that I see the most of, and the ones I feel capable of evaluating after having watched them for their entire stay in Tuscaloosa. -
And now A quarter of my life is almost past I think I've come to see myself at last And I see that the time spent confused Was the time that I spent without you And I feel myself in bloom So, darling, be home soon I couldn't bear to wait an extra minute if you dawdled My darling, be home soon It's not just these few hours, but I've been waiting since I toddled For the great relief of having you to talk to

If the schedule is increased, many players will opt out of the playoffs imo. They are already opting out of bowl games. The injury rate for football players is 100%. It is only a matter of how servere the injuries are. These kids (a huge percentage of them from poverty stricken backgrounds) risk millions of dollars on every play, let alone extra games. Should they be forced or even asked to play more games in order to satisfy the whims and dreams of fans who cheer for teams that are just not up to standards 99% of the time (Big 12 teams for example)? If they expand to 8, fans of so so teams will cry for 12. Then 16. All football fans have a bit of that gladiator audience mentality imo. That said, it is unfair for these college players to take upon even more risk than they already do. If some games were eliminated from the schedule and conference championship games were eliminated, perhaps I could support expanded playoffs. As far as all conference play, that too is unfair. Teams in the ACC and Big 12 would only play the patsies in their own weak ass divisions, no? Please, correct me where I am wrong.

Thanks for responding, but; you seem to not want to answer direct questions.
