TSW Mock Draft 2.0 - Complete!!
Bill from NYC replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure that they consulted their Tide players about this kid. Leatherwood is a winner. He is very intelligent and close friends with Mac Jones. If he needs any correction on his footwork or strength, he will do the necessary work to get better. I really do wish that he was there at 30. Some mocks had him going in round 2. I knew better, but only because I watched him from his first college game. -

Do you think that it is telling that this news would come out tonight @YoloinOhio? -
Do you trust this Front Office?
Bill from NYC replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are not many things or people or things in this world that I would trust 100%, let alone something that concerns football. I am an Alabama Crimson Tide Fan. Nick Saban invented the term, and the method of the "process," not Sean McDermott and; I can't say that I even trust Saban (and his 7 National Championships) 100%. Look, they (or at least McDermott) traded the pick that landed Mahomes and drafted a corner. They could have drafted Watson too but in light of his problems I will give them a pass on him. That said, if we didn't get Josh the following year we would probably still suck. Do you think that they were planning on getting Josh a year later? I do not. I do like the McBeane combo. I prefer Beane to McDermott, but that was not the question. Do I trust them 100%? Of course not. I have seen the Bills make too many mistakes to give them my blind trust. I would probably be a happier person (or at least I might be) if I had the ability to open my eyes every morning and trust everything and everybody. No can do. The good news is that this site is better than it has been in years and it was never bad. I always thank SDS and the mods, but now I want to make it a point to thank the posters. Y'all made this a great lead up to draft and a great off season. Thank you, end of rant. -
What was the name of the pass rushing DE that we got years ago from the Chargers? He was GREAT in San Diego but when we got him he must have quit taking steroids. He might even have had a psychiatric problem or two and a substance issue, along with an injury. I was excited when we signed him; this guy could go get the QB big time until he came here. Does anyone remember who I'm referring to?

Yeah, you never see top 5 tight ends. Now, teams will surely try to trade up for this kid. -

Thanks so much for your great work GB!!! I see that you have come around big time on Kyle Pitts. He is a freak imo, and some team is about to get VERY lucky! -
Call your shot: Who will the Bills pick in the 1st round?
Bill from NYC replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Asante Samuel CB. If he is gone they will take the next corner up. Bank on it. -

Gunner's 2021 Draft Quarterback Evaluations

It's all cool. I too think that Tyrod was about average because of his mobility. The 87 threw me off. No harm intended. ๐ -

Hold on.....you rate him at 87 and say at the same time that he will be comparabe to Tyrod Taylor. I don't know, do you want to re-think this? ๐ -
Actually, the bribery is a very good arrest if you can prove the offer. You would need an independant witness or a recording. Her lawyer would say that she didn't know what she was saying and the bribery charge might get tossed but but who cares? Departments arrests like this and you can also grab some overtime.

I am athlete - Diggs, Landry, Brandon Marshall
Bill from NYC replied to nato7412's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, White was one of your best calls on this board when you said that he was the best corner in the draft, but I remember better ones LOL. I am not sure if you will ever be able to top the Robert Royal observation. We couldn't stop laughing at the game when we saw what was happening. Or, how about when you told me that Jairus Byrd wasn't that good and that most of his interceptions were flukes that he lucked into? I remember thinking, "how can this be possible?" Next thing I knew he sucked and was gone. ๐๐ -

The Bills could have drafted multiple good players including a quarterback. Russell Wilson and Kirk Cousins were there to be had. Instead they opted yet again for a top 10 DB. Drafting Gilmore wasn't quite as stupid as the Whitner and McKelvin picks but again, how many games did Gilmore win for us? I am thinking not so many. Jmo. -

I know that he is a good player but I still contend that he was a dumb draft selection. 2012 was a pretty good draft. Looking back, the Bills could have traded down and picked up some really good players. Players who would have won us more games than Gilmore. -
rumors about the enemy's plans

This would be a GREAT move if BB could pull it off. Going into his last year before free agency, Gilmore will probably fake a few injuries and refuse to make too many tackles. -
Gunner's 2021 Draft Quarterback Evaluations

Thanks so much for the work, and the great points of reference coming into the draft!!!๐๐๐ I feel as if you underestimate Mac Jones because remember, so did I. GB, I did not expect him to start this season, and thought that if he did it would be due to the lack of practices because of covid. I expected Bryce Young (now a true soph, current starter) to beat him out as a freshman. I have seen him hit his third receiver numerous times. His reads are quicker (imo) than those ofTrevor but please don't take this the wrong way, Trevor is the better QB, the best prospect I have seen coming out of college since Elway. Did you see the show on ESPN (I believe it was called QB 21) on which Jones was featured with Kirk Herbstreit? Mac stood in front of a giant screen and described how he made reads. It seemed like a fraction of a second on some plays. I don't pretend to have watched as much QB play as you have, nor do I think that I have the ability to rate them as well as you. Maybe the reason I rate him so high (other than being a homer lol) is that I refuse to make the same mistake twice. I firmly believe in this kid after what I saw this season. As always, jmo. -

Agree 100% and on NE he seemed to always get away with it. Still, I readily admit that Gilmore was a good player for the Bills, especially when he felt like making a tackle. -
Peter King Mock- Bills take Etienne
Bill from NYC replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am not an advocate of drafting a first round running back. In fact, doing so was part of what hurt this team for many years. That said, I would prefer Najee Harris to Josh Jacobs, and I have seen all of their games, and even all of their plays at Alabama. Josh is a step (maybe even just a half step) faster than Najee. That is his only edge. Najee is better runner with a head of steam because of his size and strength. He is a clearly superior blocker and an excellent receiver. This is not to say that I don't like Josh. He is a great kid. He was a 3 star recruit who Saban took only at the last minute. At one point in his life he was homeless and slept in a car with his father. I am literally thrilled by his success in the NFL, which btw was no great surprise to me. Najee works just as hard as Josh and is VERY smart. He will have a fine career in the NFL. Do I want the Bills to draft him in round 1? Not really but I do admit that it wouldn't break my heart. As always, JMO. -
2018 Draft QB trade up feature - ESPN Schefter

Of course. They remembered how easy it was to take advantage of us like they did in 2014, when we had an inadequate, amateurish GM. -
Are sportsโ drafts fair to the players?
Bill from NYC replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And the Buffalo Bills would certainly not be one of them. I liken the NFL to other forms of entertainment. Both football players and actors have a union to represent them (even though many are multi-millionaires) and seem to do a reasonably good job at doing so. In football, serious rule changes have been implemented for player safety, NOT for the benefit of the owner's pockets. Many NFL fans resemble those watching gladiators go at it. The rule changes have eliminated some of the violence. The NFL players are obviously the best of the best and the league enables them to earn the huge dollars they make. The draft and the salary cap are two of the primary reasons that the NFL is profitable for players and owners and competitive. Not every franchise has fans like us who will spend the big bucks and freeze in order to watch a team with almost no chance to win for 20 or so years. How about NYC police officers? They can move you out of Queens and into the South Bronx (with huge daily tolls) and there is really not much the union can do. The badge says "NYC." -
