Annual Way Too Early Mock Draft '22 edition
Bill from NYC replied to thunderingsquid's topic in College Football
This post might shock people, but should the Bills be looking at safety in 2022? If so Alabama has just the player we need. I mean, we WILL be picking last!!! https://www.on3.com/college/alabama-crimson-tide/news/jordan-battle-emerging-leader-alabama-crimson-tide-defense-nick-saban/ GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Implants are great. They are utterly fantastic. I swear by them, but not everybody had the 60K to spend on them, and I truly feel sorry for those who do not.

A little disagreement among Rams fans

A little disagreement among Rams fans
Bill from NYC replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After halftime, my friend and I sat in the first row in the second deck, right smack on the 50 yard line. A good chunk of the fans just hightailed it out of there, especially those who were with a woman. To this day I have never had a better seat. The thing is, there was still some fighting not so far from me. I am not a small guy and was obviously much younger than I am today. My friend was a big guy as well, but as the fights got closer, I had visions of myself flying over the railing and landing on the main level. So, after the 3rd quarter we decided to call it a night. -
A little disagreement among Rams fans

I was at a Bills/Jets game many, many years ago (1988) in the Meadowlands. Alcohol rule changes were initiated after this game. It was a Monday Night Game on Halloween Night and the temperature was almost 70 degrees (unusually warm). People had been drinking all afternoon and evening. Here are the things that I remember: 1) A hot girl was walking up the stairs towards the concessions/bathrooms. At least 5 groups of men were shouting obscenities at her, maybe 10, asking her to flash (in different language of course). She burst out in tears and ran up the stairs. 2) The Bills had a 28-0 lead around the half. There were so many fights that the players stopped playing to watch the fighting. Cornelius Bennett looked fascinated. 3) Someone lit at least 1 seat on fire in the end zone seats. The flames were pretty high. Security came over and their extinguisher did not work. While they were getting another one, a fan came over, exposed himself, and started urinating on the fire. The fans cheered. 4) A huge blow-up pumpkin was in the stands and fans were punching it around. I guess it was a very large beach ball. It started to lose air and drunk fans were swingin at it, missing, and hitting other fans causing (for the lack of a better term) gang fights. Security finally got the pumpkin and the entire stadium was chanting "We Want Pumpkin." They actually threw it back into the stands. 5) A stripper named "Morgana" took off all of her close and ran out onto the field. 6) By the 3rd quarter, I did not see 1 female fan in the stadium. Not 1. 7) There were puddles of blood all over the stadium, to include the seating areas and bathrooms. I was lucky. Something told me not to wear a Bills shirt. I learned from this experience to NEVER wear items of clothing of the opposing team if I am at an away game. It just isn't worth it imo. I googled Bills/Jets pumpkin game and it does come up. I have been to many Bills games and they were NEVER this bad. -

People say I'm lazy Dreaming my life away Well they give me all kinds of advice Designed to enlighten me When I tell them that I'm doing fine watching shadows on the wall "Don't you miss the big time boy, you're no longer on the ball?" I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round I really love to watch them roll No longer riding on the merry-go-round I just had to let it go

I'm curious....is this view all inclusive? In other words, if a player with the talent of a Bob Brown, or Eric Williams (easily in my top 5 of the best OTs I ever saw) was available, wouldn't he be worth a first round pick? I know that RTs were thought of as road graders when running the football was more prevalent, but the above mentioned RTs could do it all. I tend to agree that RTs should rarely be picked in round 1. Again, I'm just wondering if you would make an exception under any circumstances.

Mac Jones should be a good quarterback. I don't think that most fans are aware of just how smart this kid is. He does not have a skill set that even approaches that of Josh Allen, but how many players do? I look for Mac to be somewhere around Tony Romo or Kirk Cousins, but I have been wrong before lol.
-
Well, what I will say is that when judging qbs, it is a good idea not to be seduced by arm strength alone. Ryan Mallet and Jeff George had arm strength at least as good as Josh. I thought Mallet would be a star. I saw him throw a 50 yard post pattern flat footed. The ball had almost no air under it and it looked like he was throwing a baseball. We know how he turned out. In addition to arm strength, Josh can run, is as strong as an ox, seems easy to coach, and works his ass off. He also seems like a great kid. He deserves every dollar of that contract.
-
Allen was my second choice behind Darnold but I was thrilled when we were able to draft him. I knew that he could throw but I didn't know that the kid had an arm that I would place among the all time best I have ever seen. This includes distance and fastball. I have not been this confident in a qb since Kelly was young. This draft proved that Beane is smart enough to devote resources into protecting Josh. It really is a new day for long suffering Bills Fans.

I see the cold mist in the night And watch the hills roll out of sight I watch in every single way, Inside out, outside in, every day The sun can warm the coldest dawn And move the movement on the lawn I learn in every single day, Inside out, outside in, every way

Saban has said over and over again, with all of the questions he has been asked over decades by NFL Scouts, Coaches, and/or GMs, not one has ever asked him how a player looked in his freshman year. It can be to a player's advantage to sit for a while, especially a RB. Najee Harris barely saw the field as a freshman, and he is one of the best athletes I have ever seen. Freaking Derrick Henry sat for a year. You might remember Tim Williams. He played well at LB for the Tide put didn't do so well in the NFL. He had some issues. I heard him once say that when he went to Alabama he felt like in HS, he was the best player in his school if not his entire state. Then, he got on the field and realized that every player there probably was the best in their school and state. When players get to Alabama and see players that look like Najee Harris, Bo Scarborough, Derek Henry, etc., they realise how much more work they need lol.

I don't doubt what you are saying to the extent that I am not qualified to. In fact, I consider it a privilege to be able to discuss these things with you. Pleae remember, while I don't have your vast knowledge of college footbll in it's entirety, I do know a bit about the Crimson Tide. One of the things I know is that not everybody is cut out to attend Alabama. MANY players (Marcel Dareus and Eddie Lacey to name 2) have openly stated that when the got to the NFL, workouts were MUCH easier. Players in Tuscalossa are busting their a$$ big time! I make the case that most of them know this before they get to Alabama. Another big misconception is that Alabama recruits dumb players. The truth is that Saban defenses (according to countless players) are more complicated than most in the NFL. If you listen to players such as Damien Harris, Mac Jones, Najee Harris and a host of others speak, these are very smart young men. I am not claiming that every player is a Rhodes Scholar, but I woud bet money that our players are above the norm compared to other teams. My point is that I don't think that coming to play football at Alabama is all about players getting paid. Players have a MUCH better chance at success for numerous reasons, some of which I listed above.
-
Alabama has less of a need to pay players than do other schools simply because of the money these kids are making in the NFL. Some of the biggest contracts we are seeing are from Alabama grads. Did you see the money that Jonathan Allen just signed for? They are churning out first round picks like nobody else, and some of the highest paid vets are Alabama grads. Didn't they change the times that teams are allowed to talk to recruits? They did so because Saban outworks other coaches. He didn't win all of his titles in a vacuum. He did so by working harder than other coaches and by having (and inventing btw) the." process."
