CFP considering expansion to 12-team format
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in College Football
Good points. I think that 12 teams would make some playoff games all but meaningless. Many players are currently sitting out bowl games. Will an NFL bound player from a GO5 or even Pac 12 team want to risk injury and face OSU, Clemson, or Bama, while having little to no chance of winning? I predict that many players will simply not play. There is a better way for more schools to make the playoffs. They need to recruit better and improve their coaching. Saban does not win by working 8 hour days and I'm sure that the same applies to Day and Dabo. Why punish greatness? -

Also too many games for the players. Too much risk. If they expand the playoffs they should do away with conference championship games imo. Those games are unfair to the SEC, but I suppose that this is what expansion is all about. How do you feel about this? -
That's an easy one.....Aaron Schobel. The man was an excellent pass rusher and for a while, he was the only capable pass rusher we had. He also played for idiotic coaches who would line him up wide to where he was almost on the sidelines, and even send him out into coverage. AS followed Bruce Smith, so he was under appreciated by many fans, but that man could play. On a team that had other pass rushers that had to be accounted for, Schobel would have been a consistent pro bowl player.

OK, I don't think it does. Perhaps we can end this conversation here.

Does the movie explain all of the possible pitfalls of shorting? I’m not so sure.

The Departed Godfather and Godfather 2 Up there is "The Big Short." Aside from the fact that it was a great movie, I had to watch a bunch of times to understand it. I feel like I get it now approx. 90%. I still don't fully understand how to short a stock and what it consists of. I read that Michael Burry recently shoted Tesla for HUGE money and considered jumping on it, but someone told me that you can lose more than you invest, which is not what I want to happen. Like I said, I still don't get it 100%.😕

Actually, almost all of those posters were making sense. Saban is easily the best there is and the best that ever was. The term "Process" as you and I know was invented by Saban, but I DO give McDermott credit for co-opting this as his own. At least he is copying from the best. This season will be the most interesting in many years. The offense suffered HUGE losses which would appear to be insurmountable. That said, the defense will be insane. If healthy, our starting LBs really might be the best that have ever been on any college team at the same time, and even their backups are great! The secondary is stacked and coached by Saban. The DL has a rising star (Tim Smith) who might be as good as Barmore. I don't know if the Tide can overcome the offensive losses, but this is the kind of football that Saban truly does love. We will find out soon enough. ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

>>>>>If we would have drafted him in the third round – which that’s probably where he should have gone, maybe third or fourth round – he may have still been in the league today as a backup. But don’t back yourself in a corner or of overdraft because of need.”<<<<< How was Whaley backed into a corner if HE didn't draft him? Sure, blame it on a dead guy. The fact is that he was an inadequate GM, and I'm being kind. Whaley had less discipline than a kid in a candy store. He couldn't trade away draft picks fast enough and hurt the team by doing so. Ultimately, he was just about as bad as Levy, and I'm talking Rich Kotite level horrible. The posters on @Virgil's mock were/are better GMs than Doug Whaley.

Nah, he will probably be winning but they will fix the outcome.

Hard to say Rico. I'm sure his phone is ringing off the hook every day with multiple offers. He is just taking a long time to decide.

Good for him. Why shouldn't he get it? Enough men get taken to the cleaners. Times have changed, no?

Same here. Mallett had one of the best arms I have ever seen. When he played at Arkansas, I saw him throw a 50 yard post pattern on a straight line with almost no air under it. He did it flat footed, standing still. Mallett was said to have many issues, to include behavioral problems and drug use. His failure as a player was not due to a lack of talent.
