  1. And now a quarter of my life is almost past I think I've come to see myself at last And I see that the time spent confused Was the time that I spent without you And I feel myself in bloom So darling be home soon I couldn't bear to wait an extra minute if you dawdled My darling be home soon It's not just these few hours but I've been waiting since I toddled For the great relief of having you to talk to
  2. Yes but that was a very smart move. People in these parts (and I imagine many other places) are moving to Tennessee every day. Moving to Tennessee was either a very smart or very lucky move. Their college football team is down the tubes for now but they too will be back. It does however look like that will take several years.
  3. What i want to know is just how tough is this lady that she can bang out an NFL Player?
  4. I don't know the itemized cost but that is what I got hit up for, and like I said it was a few months ago. Almot every item I but is going up in price every day.
  5. Remember it is fast food. There is no place in these parts that resembles Anderson's. I smother it in the au juus and throw lots of black pepper on it. Then, I follow it up with vanilla custard. I pretty much only eat like this up in Williamsville. Btw in terms of price, a few months ago I went to Nathan's and had 2 hot dogs and a small coke. It cost me $11.50. I'm not making this up. I am not a cheap person by any means but doesn't that seem excessive?
  6. I think that Ralph was a good man and a great businessman. If Ralph had 100 lives, he would be rich 100 times. I am also of the opinion that Ralph was senile for some time before he died. Does anyone remember when he said that he needed to get "more involved?" What a mess that turned out to be! Hiring Levy/Jauron was probably the dumbest move I have ever seen any sports franchise make. It made hiring the lazy, useless Rex Ryan look like a smart move in comparison. Levy was clearly overmatched and done at the time. But, even given the above; I will always be grateful to him for keeping the Bills where they are, and even still think of the stadium as "The Ralph."
  7. Ooh, yeah, take my hand Let me take you to Love Land Let me show you how sweet it could be Sharing your love with Larry, listen Float, float on (You better float with me now) Float on, float on (Float on) Float, float, float on (Yeah, yeah) (You better float on) (Float on) (Ah)
  8. It doesn't look that way but it isn't beyond the realm of possibility.
  9. There is nothing like Ted's in these parts. The open flame taste is great! Once in a while I cook Hebrew Nationals on the grill and they are good, but I prefer Ted's beef franks. At my age I shouldn't eat too many franks.
  10. Ted's and Anderson's for fast food. Cafe Aroma (Williamsville) for Italian. Eagle House (Williamsville) for American. Trust me Bro, you will NOT be sorry!!!! I will be up there later this month and will hit all 4 of these great places.
  11. Well, the only person talking about love thy brother is the preacher And it seems, nobody's interested in learning, but the teacher Segregation, determination, demonstration, integration Aggravation, humiliation, obligation to my nation Ball of confusion Oh yeah, that's what the world is today Woo, hey, hey
  12. You say that once knew for sure But now you're walkin' into shore to wonder* The more you learn the less you know The more you move the more you go to nowhere* You ask a bird as she flies by Just where she's at she says, where the wind blows*
  13. Somebody yelled out at me Country music and company, kind of makes it On a Sunday afternoon Picnic lunches of yesterday Should still have a place in your heart today Think it over Cause we'll all be goin' home so soon
  14. This is great news. I truly wish that there was a way to honor Joel Buchsbaum. He did get some sort of award in 2003 but imo he was THE best sportswriter to ever cover football and especially the draft. If he was alive today he would be a multi-millionaire He died WAY too soon. 😟
  15. When I was just a little young boy Papa said, "Son, you'll never get far" I'll tell you the reason, if you wanna know 'Cause child of mine, there isn't really very, Far to go
  16. You're thinking Maybe if you said goodbye You'll understand the reason why The love you had felt so cruel Oh, but it's all right (all right) Once you get past the pain (Past the pain) You'll learn to find your love again So keep your heart open 'Cause love will find a way
  17. 1) Myself 2) The entire team.
  18. By the time the season is over, Josh Allen being the best QB in the NFL is NOT beyond the realm of possibility. A healthy Josh Allen gets better. The only question is by how much.
  19. Now that you're gone All that's left is a band of gold All that's left of the dreams I hold Is a band of gold And the memories, of what love could be If you were, still here with me
  20. Your post is filled with great info. Wrt police suicides, the number of them in big city departments is surely higher than in small towns. Being a cop in some surroundings is probably a great life, despite today's climate. There were severalyears in which the NYPD had 10 or more suicides, this in a dept, with approx. 35,000 police officers (since they were combined with the Transit and Housing Police). These horrible stats do not count retirees.
  21. I am very glad to hear this. Hopefully this holds up ater they have been married for a while and the number of divorces increases.
  22. The highest suicide rate sadly belongs to police officers. Years ago it was dentists. I am not posing as an expert, but I suspect that people who feel, or in fact are hated are more prone to suicide than others. At one point NYPD cops were killing themselves at an alarming rate. A union trustee started an organization to help cops so that they could seek help without being labled by the job and having their careers ruined. Along with others, I contributed money. Eventually, the job was dragged into supporting it and now they get hundreds (if not thousands) of calls per year from cops seeking help, and highly trained peer counsellors are there to offer the needed assistance. I was unaware of high suicide numbers for gays. I hope that they too have support groups and suspect that they do. I pray that those in need take advantage of the great help that is out there. One last thing about suicides.....almost all of the many that I was personally aware of involved relationships. One police officer screwed up an accident report, and a lieutenant told him he was getting a minor counselling. He went upstairs to the locker room and blew his brains out. This was an exception but even at that something else was certainly involved. Divorce was the major cause from what I saw, and with gay marriages being legal now I hope that this doesn't develop into a problem. Sorry to ramble. I knew many people who committed suicide and this is a painful subject to me. PLEASE seek help if anyone is ever chronically depressed. It gets better.
  23. Gee, I wonder why a man that size would require a bodyguard.
  24. I thought I knew you I guess I took myself Right down the wrong road Leading to the past I know you're trying To rearrange your mind But you were lying Do you laugh in my face Turn back turn back the pages Who remembers names? Who remembers faces? Turn back, don't drive yourself crazy Life's too short for ritualistic chases
  25. Some great comments from Booger McFarland.
