Maybe. I would even say that there is a strong possibility that the bolded is true. Then again, maybe not LOL. A 6th Round Pick???😮 That said, if he was the superstar that he was portrayed as yesterday, 31 GMs would have been clamoring around, even tripping over themselves trying to trade a first round pick for him and then sign him to a very costly long term deal, most of it in guaranteed bonus money. I guess not!!!😁 Don't worry, despite your HUGE mistake wrt your take on the situation, your value as a poster has NOT decreased even one iota, at least not to me. You are AOK in my opinion! 👍👍👍👍👍

Yes, that 3-1 start must have convinced them to cough up such a heavy price LOL!!! Not everyone.
-
Wow a 6th round pick. That seems like a low price to pay for a hard working all time great.

Did you know that Richard Sherman recently signed with Tampa Bay, supposedly at the urging of Brady. Do you think it is possible that Belichick might have told Brady that he was going to release Gilmore? I am not saying that he did, but I view this as a possibility.

I am not sure I'm willing to say that Cordy Glenn was a better OT than Riley Reiff. Also, DeCastro was a very good guard before he got hurt. There is obviously more to drafting than taking someone who is "good." The idea is to build a winning team. I'm aware that hindsight is 2020, but we could have come away with an excellent QB and at least 2 blockers. We could even have accomplished this while trading down for extra picks. In those days, all the Bills did was draft well enough to keep from having the 1st pick. We were simply NOT going to win. The record says it all.
-
Why? Because YOU think this so it has to be true. I doubt that you are above error. Really no need for comments like that AD.
-
Excuse me, did you or did you not imply that I was fond of drafting Mike Williams and Flowers? We have both been on this board for quite some time. Why the sudden need to get sanctimonious?
-
Well, I am not doubting his talent. I did say that he was a waste of a top 10 pick and our record reflects this. We were playing with a subpar QB and an OL that sucked. Now we have a solid OL (which is getting better), a GREAT QB, and the best head coach and GM that we ever had (imo). I simply make the case that Gilmore was not what this team needed back then and we are doing fine without him now.
-
Mike Williams was a bad pick. I say it now and I said it then. In fact, my signature on this board in those days was "Draft McKinney" so no, I do not condone drafting overweight RTs with a serious ankle injury at all, let alone with the #4 pick. Flowers just sucked, and we even traded up to get him but fear not....we also took Whitner at #8 along with Ashton Youboty and Ko Simpson in that draft. Those were our first 4 picks and we actually traded UP to do this. There were 3 DBs in the first 3 rounds. Were you fond of this draft?
-
You are seriously telling me that he played hard at the end?
-
At NE he played as if he cared. Do you also want to give Whitner another try? He too was quite useful and certainly not a waste of a draft pick and cap space, no? 😂
-
Alot more than Gilmore. Plus, they even TRIED to win and went all out. They didn't dog it half the time like Gilmore.
-
I hear ya but lets focus on wins. How many games did he win for us and how are we doing without him? Gilmore never wanted to be here to begin with, Screw him. Jmo.
-
Please Beane, PLEASE pass on Gilmore!!! We already wasted tens of millions of cap space on him and it got us nowhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is hard for me to understand how Meyer was able to win as much as he did. One poster in this thread claimed that Meyer works harder than anyone. This is NOT true. Nick Saban works 16 hour days. He once won a title on a Monday Night and demanded that his staff be at work on Thursday morning, this after flying back from California. Btw, Meyer holds a grudge against Saban because he once called him and asked for a job and Saban refused him. Saban of course talked about how mistaken he was. Now I have at least an inkling as to why he said no. Also.....FWIW, I have just a bit of experience with people like this. Was alcohol a contributing factor? No doubt. That said, he seemed to be grabbing that young girl's ass while she was dancing. My guess is that sex, not alcohol, was his primary motivating factor. The look on his face was a clear giveaway to me. So once again, my educated guess is that he was driven to this by sex urges more than alcohol ,which was certainly partially responsible. Male menopause? The above is not an all knowing proclamation, consider it a very strong hunch. One more comment about alchol: It is a very strange chemical in that it causes so many of us to react in so many ways. Examples: If you take a given person who is a drinker and look at the craziest, most out of character thing he or she ever did, was alcohol involved? My guess is yes, in almost all cases. Now, take a person who almost never drinks and look at the most out of character thing he or he ever did, was alcohol involved? My guess is yes, in a huge majority of cases. Still my opinion remains that Meyer's sexual urges were just so strong that he couldn't control himself and was willing to risk hurting and embarrassing his wife and kids, and that these desires were of course fueled by alcohol. Remember, they were not sneaking off to a motel. Theyn were in public and everyone there had a camera on their phone. I also think that he will land on his feet. Sarkisian pulled a few stunts in his day and now makes 7 or 8 million dollars per year at Texas. Maybe Meyer will be Saban's next reclamation project lol, although I do doubt it. Saban freely admits that he is afraid of his wife and I am sure that Mrs. Saban would be too thrilled. Sorry for the rant, jmo.

Do you still have friends from middle and high school?
Bill from NYC replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall
Yes. I am lucky enough to have 3 close friends like this. We grew up together in the 60's. We have made trips to Orchard Park to see the Bills, and many of the posters here have met these great, wonderful guys. I promise, you will never hear a bad word about them. One of them in particular likes to ask @BADOLBILZ football questions while the rest of us listen lol! In fact, we will be meeting up on 10/12 and going to a great Italian place in Queens. -
I like the Hampton Inn on Main Street in Williamsville. great neighborhood, plenty of parking. and walking distance to great restaurants and a fantastic brewery. Hampton Inns are part of the Hilton chain and they now have a double Hilton Points promotion. You can even spend $20 or so more per night and get triple points. It sounds flimsy but this summer I got 4 free nights in North Carolina using Hilton Points.

RIP Cindy. ❤️

It was beautiful. Kiffen tried to be cute and kept going for it on 4th down. That is hard to do vs. Alabama and he was unsuccessful every time. Saban knew that Miss. would be playing pretty much a 3/8, and ran the football down their throats. It was a coaching clinic by Saban.

This is just so very sad. I hope she is not in pain and ask God to bless her.
