  1. Great post as usual but I have a question.....Are we 100% sure that we are not overrating our safeties at this point? I must say that I was not overly impressed with them last night. I also think that Josh makes these receivers look quite a bit better than they are. As always, jmo.
  2. Let's give Marv another crack at it! This time he can be coach/GM!!!
  3. Josh Allen is great. He has insufficient weapons at WR and RB, and not enough blocking. It’s a shame too because the kid is a super talent.
  4. How many days has it been Since I was born How many days until I die Do I know any ways That I can make you laugh Or do I only know how to make you cry When the baby looks around him It's such a sight to see He shares a simple secret With the wise man He's a stranger in a strange land
  5. From Atlanta, Georgia, to the Gulf Stream water up to California end I'm gonna spend my life both night and day I say, gimme, gimme good lovin' every night (Hey you know it's alright, child) Gimme, gimme good lovin' make it alright
  6. And I'd rather Beg, Borrow and Steal, I'd rather Beg Borrow and Steal, I'd rather Beg, Borrow and Steal, Than go back to you, go back to you, Than go back to you, go back to you, Than go back to you, go back to you..
  7. Both are most deserving of these awards. Bryce needs to win the Heisman and Anderson should have been a finalist.
  8. Did you miss my post in which I complimented OSU, and said how many other teams (according to Coach Saban) refuse to play Alabama? I respect OSU for having the nerve to step up. Here it is: >>>>>>Saban has said time and again that he would prefer an all SEC schedule. He also said that is is hard to get non conference teams to play Alabama. i don't see any clear reason for even a very strong team like Notre Dame (for example) to want to sign on for a home/away series with Clemson, Georgia, or Bama. The risk of loss would be pretty big and could cost them a playoff spot. I can't say I blame them. Btw, kudos to Okla. St. for signing on with Bama for such a series.<<<<<<
  9. Maybe I'm wrong. I was placing lots of emphasis to the quality of opponents.
  10. I'm going up the country Baby, don't you wanna go? I'm going up the country Baby, don't you wanna go? I'm going to some place Where I've never been before I'm going, I'm going Where the water tastes like wine I'm going where the water tastes like wine We can jump in the water Stay drunk all the time
  11. Thanks for the good and interesting dialogue! You too make sound, reasonable points. In 2017, Alabama did not win the SEC Championship. In fact, they even lost their division title and didn't appear in the SEC Championship Game at all, yet; they got in the playoffs with the 4th seed and went on to win the title. I guess that my point is that I think that fans deserve to see the best teams. Saban has said time and again that he would prefer an all SEC schedule. St. for signing on with Bama for such a series. Many people got their wish wrt Cincy this season. The entire country, as well as virtually every single sportscaster will be rooting for them. Last season, the Alabama team would have been able to pull it's starters by half time against this Cincy team. This year, I give Cincy a much better chance. That said, if I was a fan of one of several other teams, I would probably resent their presence in the 4 team playoff. In summary, I don't have all the answers. I really don't know what would make things fair to all (imo) except for perhaps eliminating a bunch of games, including conference title games. This however would cost the NCAA untold millions, so that ain't happening.
  12. No. It will stop when other teams are worthy. Players (who are mostly poor kids) should not have to play 17 game schedules in college in order to appease fans of not so great teams. In every game they are risking losing out on millions of dollars. How many playoff teams should there be? 8? 16? 32? Imo, all football fans possess a certain degree of the gladiator mentality. We watch our favorite teams play a vicious sport and hope for hard his, sacks, etc. I am not above this nor do I pretend to be. That said, should college players take even more risk to satisfy the wishes of fans that root for a team that cannot win enough games? Players will start sitting out playoff games if they have 16 or 17 gme schedules and would you blame them? They are already sitting out the bowls. And btw, I am an Alabama fan. 99% of sportswriters, sportscasters, and fans expected the Tide to lose to UGA. A larger playoff pool would have appeared to work for Bama this season. Still, the only way I could support expanded playoffs would be if they eliminated games from the schedule, and also did away with conference championship games. This btw will never happen. Of course, the above is jmo. I am sorry that your team lost, and know how much it sucks to get that close and lose. I don't however agree that your defense is the best in the NCAA. Top Ten? Perhaps.
  13. Look, Mac is not as good as Josh Allen the odds are overwhelmingly against him ever being THAT good, but Josh has HOF potential. This being a given, please tell us how many games he must win this season before your post will in fact be ridiculous? 10? 11? 12? You are judging him in a road game with 55 mph wind gusts? Seriously? You would be better off just trying to wish him away LOL!
  14. Sitting in a transit all night long Playing clubs and rocking right on The road's much too long since I've been wasting my time Wish I was home again sipping my wine And I'm gone, gone, gone, I don't care Cause I'm gone, gone, gone, I don't care It's where I'm from, I'm on the road again
  15. There are similarities but I actually think that McDermott is a bit better than Marv. Of course I'm certainly in the minority, which is fine.
  16. That is SO true. They might have a problem at OLB next season. Chris Allen was hurt in game 1. He is a star and of course Anderson (perhaps the best college player) is only a sophmore. Freshman Dallas Turner looks excellent and will not want to sit. Drew Sanders and Braswell are 5 stars. I can't imagine all of them staying. Again Allen is GREAT but it might actually help us if he goes to the NFL. We will almost certainly lose at least 1 of these kids to the transfer portal. A QB is coming in from Tennessee. He is ranked #42 in the country but I think he should be WAY higher. He and Milroe backing up Bryce is not hard to take.
  17. Every time I see you lookin' my way Baby, baby, can't you hear my heartbeat? In the car or walking down the highway Baby, baby, can't you hear my heartbeat? When you move up closer to me I get a feelin' that's ooo-wee Can't you hear the poundin' of my heartbeat? 'Cause you're the one I love, you're the one I love
  18. Yeah, and i also think that state tax structure matters.
  19. I'd rather be a forest than a street Yes I would If I could I surely would I'd rather feel the earth beneath my feet Yes I would If I only could I surely would
  20. Is Cristobal's brother a police captain in Miami? I know that he has very strong roots there. I think that he will do well.
  21. It would be up to the committee to decide if they felt that they were better than Cincy, despite the records. I suppose ND would also be pulled into that conversation. If it went strictly by records, Cincy would be the #1 team, no? I think that if Oklahoma State would have destroyed Baylor they would have received serious consideration. A last second win? I am less sure. As always, JMO.
  22. My sincere congrats to both you and U Mich. To get to where they are now was quite the accomplishment. I always kinda liked Harbaugh. I remember him as a player and he is one of the toughest guys I ever saw play. He can probably kick the asses of half of his team, even at his age. I do readily admit that I hope that Alabama gets the #1 seed. I am not 100% convinced that they are the best team, but I think that they deserve it after beating UGA somewhat handily. I think Mich/Georgia would be a GREAT game.
  23. How will it feel when Fields is cut in a year or perhaps 2?
  24. I smoked for more than 30 years. A very serious health issue made me have to stop but it still wasn't easy. I went on the patch and got to the weakest one. I was even leaving them on past their expiration and thought I was OK Well, one day I was getting craving and couldn't find my box of patches. I was pacing and sweating just like any other addict. I found the box, put one one, and decided to throw the rest out. I have been smoke free since October 15, 2015, and it was not a cakewalk. After 2 or 3 months I thought I was out of the woods. I wen't to a 7/11 for coffee and the guy in front of me and ordered a Newport Box. I felt totally depressed and a strong craving came on but I resisted. I will NEVER ever, smoke another cigarette. To those of you wanting to quit: 1) The good news is that cravings become less and less frequent and much weaker. And, when you do get them they only last for less than a minute. At this point I cannot remember my last craving; it was probably during the spring or summer. 2) Remember, you are NOT smoking out of "habit." You are NOT smoking due to "nervous energy." You are addicted to nicotine. Period. Vaping won't give you cancer, but the nicotine will cause heart problems, high blood pressure, etc. You need to kick your addiction to nicotine. 3) I was horribly addicted. If I can quit so can any and all of you. 4) Pick up a book about quitting by the author Alan Carr. I used his first book. This book was a great education to me and was vital in my successfully quitting this addiction. I didn't follow his advice 100% but I still really did gain from him. 5) If you are religious, pray for help. 6) Good luck and God bless. Live longer and enjoy family, friends, and now that we have Josh Allen, even the Bills. If any of you have any questions about quitting, feel free to IM me and I will try to help. I am not an addiction counselor or a medical professional. Just an ex-degenerate, self damaging smoker. Do please remember, I was hopelessly addicted and if I can do it, you've got it kicked. PS: Today is Saturday. If I smoked one cigarette today I would be smoking 2 packs per day by Wednesday or Thursday. My point is to treat yourself like any other addict. I am going to take my 2 mile walk today.
