I completely agree. -

Careful with Ford. The risk with him is the weak competetion that he faced at Cincinnati. At Alabama he was 4th or 5th string and barely saw any playing time. I am not saying that he isn't somewhat talented. I do not however think that he is worthy of a day 1 pick. Jmo. -
If I listened long enough to you I'd find a way to believe that it's all true Knowing that you lied Straight-faced while I cried Still I look to find a reason to believe Someone like you Makes it hard to live without Somebody else Someone like you Makes it easy to give Never think about myself

Gunner's 2022 Mock Draft (v3 and FINAL - p.17!!)

First of all, thanks for posting this. Posts are like this are what makes TSW such a good place in the offseason! I found the stat that you posted about Carolina so intriguing that I took a closer look..... Since 2003, they did not have a first round pick in 2 of the seasons. And you are correct, from 2004 until now they did not draft any offensive linemen in round 1. They did draft 3 CBs (not too bad lol). They also drafted no less than 4 LBs and 3 DTs. They drafted 2 wrs but one of them was Kelvin Benjamin. In other words, their drafts are historically stupid. My only other comment is that I am all but 100% certain that Jax will draft an OT, specifically Evan Neal. Cam Robinson is a nice player (and a bit of a head case) at LT but he is a UFA. I don't know if Jax wants him or if he wants to stay but even if he stays, I think that they will draft an OT to protect Trevor Lawrence, who is going to be great imo. If I was Lawrence and they drafted a DE with the 1st pick, I would be pissed off and hold it against the franchise in terms of staying there or leaving as a UFA when possible. Jmo and thanks again! -
Yes, it was, thank you! I felt as if he he nevr had a decent run before then. That was a very strange game. Jerry Ostroski even threw a couple of successful blocks! It was as if the Dolphins were having a job action of sorts.

I have one lol! Who was that running back who ran for like a million yards against Miami in what was a playoff game iirc? Before that game 3 yards was a long gain for him, or so it seemed.. He looked very strong but he seemed to never gain yardage. Never.

Stockholm Syndrome. There are some folks who will still defend Donte Whitner as a nice pick and extoll the virtues of Marv Levy as a GM.

Coach he is pure speed. If a DB bites on one of his fakes even for a fraction of a second he is GONE. Because he is taller than Ruggs or Waddle (two other speedsters), he has very long strides. Remember the jokes about putting Spiller is "space?" 😀 If defensive backs were not playing WAY back this kid was freaking by them with no chance of being caught. I don't claim to be an expert like Badol and Gunner, but I have watched every play that Metchie and Williams were involved in while they played at Alabama, to even include Metchie's "A" Game (inter squad game in April) as a freshman. In a couple of months I will post my yearly review of every draft eligible Alabama player. There will not be as many stars as there were in the 2021 draft and most of those guys kicked ass in the NFL. Count me as one who doesn't think that this draft is even almost as good as the one last year but this is jmo.

Williams is much faster than Metchie. It isn't close. Metchie however is a more polished receiver, but is more than a full step slower. Williams has Henry Ruggs type speed. On the Bills, Williams could run fly patters and Josh could hit him with strikes 60 yards downfield. I don't want to give out the wrong impression.....Williams is VERY good, but he is not the best receiver to come out of Alabama in recent years. That would be a tall order but there were times when I saw him catch a pass in coverage and if he had any room, I knew that he was gone for a TD. He IS a truly exciting player.

Thank you for this. Many disagree (and I'm not sure why) but I think that Allen is so flat out great that he makes most of the offensive players around him look much better than they would with a human quarterback. The man is a generational talent who needs more weapons and better protection. At this point I think that he has at least as much a talent as John Elway and even more raw ability that Trevor Lawrence. Seriously. Why consider anything else in the early rounds after the resources that we have recently devoted to the defense? If I was Josh Allen and they drafted a first round corner I would be furious and feel alienated.

Divisional Round: Buffalo at KC Sunday at 6:30
Bill from NYC replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Do you mean the one that we spurned Mahomes for? Other than Josh, how many first round picks do we have on offense Dave? Btw, I prefer Josh to Mahomes but trading away a chance for him (on a team that needed a QB) was inexcusably stupid, no? But, this has been discussed forever. And speaking of defense, I keyed on Edmunds for the bulk of the game and came away utterly unimpressed. How would you rate his performance? -

Of course not. Blocking didn't matter either, nor does keeping Josh healthy matter all that much about the teams's future, right? No, let's keep drafting 1st round DBs, especially for need. Then we can all die and go to first round defensive back heaven, having not won the big prize. -

Why not? After all it has worked just SO well for us! Who needs better weapons and more protection for our future HOF QB, right? -
Well, some good news to cheer me up. Saban warned the NCAA what would happen wrt the transfer portal. How about another speedster WR for the Crimson Tide!!! https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/jermaine-burton-transfers-to-alabama-ex-georgia-wr-continues-crimson-tides-dominant-transfer-portal-run/

I will see your MVP/Super Bowl forecasts and raise you a spot in the Hall of Fame if he stays healthy. -
There were even several rushing first downs iirc. Josh Allen is clearly the best QB in the NFL. The kid has untold talent, size, and ability.
