  1. I understand this Bro and a part of me pines for the "good old days" when Jack Tatum could flat out destroy receivers over the middle, even on incomplete passes 3 feet over the receiver's outstretched arms. I also miss Earl Campbell just running into defenders and knocking them into next week. The thing is, those days are all but gone. Brady at 44? Years ago he might not have made it to 34. Josh Allen is the real deal and the answer to the Bills problems....providing he stays healthy. He needs better weapons and he needs better blocking. When he gets these things, we will win a Super Bowl, perhaps several of them. I hope that we can have a cyber handshake and agree to disagree. 👍🙂🏈 As always, the above is jmo.
  2. Beginning to think that I'm wastin' time I don't understand the things I do The world outside looks so unkind So I'm countin' on you To carry me through Oh, give me the beat boys and free my soul I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
  3. This would be a very dumb trade if it even approached those Mack numbers. Josh Allen needs blockers and better weapons, not more first roud defensive picks. This team is built around Josh and the sport is now built on offense. Hopefully McBeane won't be stupid enough to do a trade like this.
  4. Abraham and Isaac sitting on a fence You'd get right to work if you had any sense You know the one thing we need is a left-hand monkey wrench. Gideon come up with his eyes on the floor Said "You ain't got a hinge, you can't close the door." Moses stood up a full six foot ten Said "You can't close the door when the wall's caved in."
  5. Check out, the wheels are turnin', you know we won't stop We got this boiler burnin', we're keepin' it hot So grab your friends, get the train comin' through Climb on board where you leave's up to you Leave you worries behind 'Cause rain, shine, don't mind We're ridin' on the groove line tonight
  6. Well, if I had my choice of matter I would rather be with cats All engrossed in mental chatter Movin' where our minds are at And relatin' to each other Just how strong our wills can be I'm resisting all involvement With each groovy chick we see Well, I'm a man, yes I am And I can't help But love you so
  7. The 2022 QB class is also not looking very good. These guys are going to get very rich.
  8. I have a bunch of friends in AA. These guys ften have these great one liners that stick with me. AA would seem like the kind of place where the old timers have heard every excuse, and a ton of b.s. Here are 2: 1) "Being bitter at someone and dwelling on it is like me drinking poison and waiting for you to die." This makes total sense imo. The person that you are so angry at either doesn't care or is glad that you are tearing yourself apart. 2) "No matter where you go, there YOU are." Another great line. Many folks think that all they have to do is move and they will completely change. Sometimes I consider moving to NC. I might do it some day too but if I do, I will not think that I will instantly transform into a different person with completely different thoughts and habits. OK, here is one more from an old police chief who was getting ready to retire. On the previous night, he had to go out to Long Island and suspend a NYC cop who was involved in a dispute with his wife. This man was a GREAT guy and hated to do this but it was his job. The next day he came to a precinct and delivered a speech to the 4x12 shift. He said that when you get off at 12AM, go home! He said that if you go out to bars and screw around it is only a short matter of time before your wife finds out and you will lose your house, kids, and pension. He said to go to a 7-11, buy a six pack, take it home, drink it, and watch reruns of Star Trek. Then he said, "your wife will probably still hate you, but at least she will know where you are." I hope that big bosses like him still exist.
  9. Life's too short to make a mistake Let's think of each other and hesitate Young and impatient we may be There's no need to act foolishly If we part our hearts won't forget it Years from now we'll surely regret it Give me just a little more time And our love will surely grow Give me just a little more time And our love will surely grow
  10. I hope that people will learn from this. Criminals tend to repeat their criminal behavior. After he abused his kid, folks actually defended him. He once had problems in a bar and I remember an announcer on Sirius (the schmuck from Michigan) blaming the police. This was before the child abuse. Make no mistake.....the odds of this being the last time he gets in trouble are slim. He is a scumbag and this will not change. We can lend credence to one sob story or another but in reality, he is still a scumbag. I hope that down the road he goes to prison where he belongs. What do you think John?
  11. Interesting. I think that there was a window (however brief) when music was good in the 90's. The Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Collective Soul, the Spin Doctors, and Pearl Jam, and even Alanis Morrisette were all pretty good or so I think, and then they pretty much disappeared. I would have a tough time coming up with 20 songs between the end of that era and now that I consider very good. Perhaps even 10. As always, jmo.
  12. Turn back, turn back the pages Who remembers names Who remembers faces Turn back, don't drive yourself crazy Life's too short for ritualistic chases
  13. I don't know where we come from Don't know where we're goin' to But if all this should have a reason We would be the last to know So let's just hope there is a promised land Hang on 'til then As best as you can
  14. The point I was making was that they were defending themselves. If they think that a settlement is in their best interests then that is a way of self defense, or at least looking out for their best interests. Personally, I think that they are more concerned with the bad publicity of being thought of as racists than anything else. Imo Flores is a bit of a jerk, but whether he is or not won't matter in the long run. I agree with you in the sense that the NFL will likely cave. They can afford to.
  15. Lazy lightning sleepy fire in your eyes It's like desire in disguise I keep on tryin' but I I can't get through Lazy lightning, I'd like to find the proper potion That's gonna capture your emotion You're right beside me but I I can't get through
  16. What should they do? Plead guilty in court and pay him hundreds of millions of dollars to validate his allegations, some of which the veracity is doubtful? If someone was suing you, would you try to defend yourself or just lay down and willingly lose? Geez!
  17. Maybe not everyone. Jaylen Waddle set some sort of record for receptions by a rookie. https://www.nfl.com/news/dolphins-wr-jaylen-waddle-breaks-rookie-receptions-record That said, I'm pretty sure that there are ways to rarionalize around this.
  18. When it seems your friends desert you There's somebody thinking of you I'm the one who'll never hurt you Maybe that's because I love you Call me, don't be afraid, you can call me Maybe it's late, but just call me Tell me, and I'll be around
  19. It's been a long long, long time How could I ever have lost you? When I loved you It took a long long, long time Now I'm so happy I found you How I love you So many tears I was searching So many tears I was wasting, oh oh
  20. Seems I've got to have a change of scene Every night I have the strangest dreams Imprisoned by the way it could have been Left here on my own or so it seems I've got to leave before I start to scream Won't someone lock the door and turn the key Feeling alright (oh, no) I'm not feeling too good myself (on, no) If I feeling alright (oh, no) I'm not feeling that good myself, yeah (oh, no)
  21. I'll do anything for you Anything you want me to I'll give the world to you If you want me to (Yes I will) I'll do anything for you I'll give the world to you If you want me to I'll do (I'll do anything) I'll do (I'll do anything) I'll do do do do do do do do
  22. Pace got screwed too, whereas they just kept renewing his Franchise Tag. He held out several times too as I recall. In the end, he DID make his money. If we had a LT like Orlando Pace we would be destroying the Rams tomorrow.
  23. You do make sense about injury shortended careers in the NFL. But as far as Bosselli being the best offensive lineman of that time span, I am saying no freaking way. Orlando Pace might be the best in any time span. Do you remember when the Rams won that Super Bowl? Warner had all week to stand in the pocket and throw. Pace opened holes for Faulk big enough for my grandmother to run through. Again, I totally agree about great careers in the NFL being cut short by injuries. That said, Pace was better than Bosselli, Walter Jones, or anyone else that I have ever seen play LT. (At RT, Erik Williams). As always, jmo.
  24. The reporter is Charlie Leduff. He's a bit of a head case, but I am not going to doubt the validity of this story. Leduff has a podcast now and is a GREAT author. His book "Detroit" is one of my favorite books of all time.
