Now the time has come (Time) There's no place to run (Time) I might get burned up by the sun (Time) But I had my fun (Time) I've been loved and put aside (Time) I've been crushed by the tumbling tide (Time) And my soul has been psychedelicized (Time)

Coach he is pure speed. If a DB bites on one of his fakes even for a fraction of a second he is GONE. Because he is taller than Ruggs or Waddle (two other speedsters), he has very long strides. Remember the jokes about putting Spiller is "space?" 😀 If defensive backs were not playing WAY back this kid was freaking by them with no chance of being caught. I don't claim to be an expert like Badol and Gunner, but I have watched every play that Metchie and Williams were involved in while they played at Alabama, to even include Metchie's "A" Game (inter squad game in April) as a freshman. In a couple of months I will post my yearly review of every draft eligible Alabama player. There will not be as many stars as there were in the 2021 draft and most of those guys kicked ass in the NFL. Count me as one who doesn't think that this draft is even almost as good as the one last year but this is jmo.

Williams is much faster than Metchie. It isn't close. Metchie however is a more polished receiver, but is more than a full step slower. Williams has Henry Ruggs type speed. On the Bills, Williams could run fly patters and Josh could hit him with strikes 60 yards downfield. I don't want to give out the wrong impression.....Williams is VERY good, but he is not the best receiver to come out of Alabama in recent years. That would be a tall order but there were times when I saw him catch a pass in coverage and if he had any room, I knew that he was gone for a TD. He IS a truly exciting player.

Thank you for this. Many disagree (and I'm not sure why) but I think that Allen is so flat out great that he makes most of the offensive players around him look much better than they would with a human quarterback. The man is a generational talent who needs more weapons and better protection. At this point I think that he has at least as much a talent as John Elway and even more raw ability that Trevor Lawrence. Seriously. Why consider anything else in the early rounds after the resources that we have recently devoted to the defense? If I was Josh Allen and they drafted a first round corner I would be furious and feel alienated.

Divisional Round: Buffalo at KC Sunday at 6:30

Do you mean the one that we spurned Mahomes for? Other than Josh, how many first round picks do we have on offense Dave? Btw, I prefer Josh to Mahomes but trading away a chance for him (on a team that needed a QB) was inexcusably stupid, no? But, this has been discussed forever. And speaking of defense, I keyed on Edmunds for the bulk of the game and came away utterly unimpressed. How would you rate his performance? -

Of course not. Blocking didn't matter either, nor does keeping Josh healthy matter all that much about the teams's future, right? No, let's keep drafting 1st round DBs, especially for need. Then we can all die and go to first round defensive back heaven, having not won the big prize. -

Why not? After all it has worked just SO well for us! Who needs better weapons and more protection for our future HOF QB, right? -
Well, some good news to cheer me up. Saban warned the NCAA what would happen wrt the transfer portal. How about another speedster WR for the Crimson Tide!!! https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/jermaine-burton-transfers-to-alabama-ex-georgia-wr-continues-crimson-tides-dominant-transfer-portal-run/

I will see your MVP/Super Bowl forecasts and raise you a spot in the Hall of Fame if he stays healthy. -
There were even several rushing first downs iirc. Josh Allen is clearly the best QB in the NFL. The kid has untold talent, size, and ability.

It's OK Bro. Bills Fans all have our own way to grieve. I don't know the person you are talking to but I'm sure that he will be OK in a few weeks. 😉 -

Provide you(r) own Hot Take Monday [edit]
Bill from NYC replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
For me, this game was marked more by sadness than anger. Maybe it's because I'm older; I'm not so sure. What made it worse is that I was NOT haunted by that aura of "same old Bills," in that I really did expect them to hang on. After the last GREAT TD pass by Allen, I ran upstairs and was hugging my fiancee, yelling "Super Bowl." The sadness and pain that I feel is not primarily self centered. It isn't even centered on Josh Allen either. At the rate he is going he is sure to be one of the all time greats, and will make hundreds of millions of dollars. The world is his. My sorrow is for the Bills Fans in general but especially those on TSW. So many of us have so many quirks but we are legit. Look at the thought, time, money, and effort we have put into being Bills fans! My crew and I were checking the weather in OP for next week during the game. Yes, the Super Bowl was ours, or so I thought. I am going to stick to my guns, now more than ever. I NEVER thought I would see a QB this great on the Bills. He is easily even better than Kelly. Protecting him and providing him with more and better weapons should be our top priorities!!!!! Will they be? I just don't know. They just might focus on the secondary but no matter what they do, I will still cheer for them!!! In any event Bills Fans, walk tall. Many, many years ago, @SDSposted that he is more of a fan of Bills Fans than he is of the Bills. Seriously, this comment could really be 15 years old but I never forgot it, and I agree. Somehow, some day, we will get there. NOBODY deserves it more than us. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- 70 replies

I only saw a little bit of you tube video on him but he looks really strong and pretty quick. It seems as if he played RG before moving to LT, and he looks like he could be a GREAT guard. This of course is NOT to say that he woudn't be a good tackle!

Just saw this on NFL.com, and I must admit that it was poorly written and obviously not edited. The writer claims that Neal will go first, but he does not list him as his favorite OT. Btw, do you know much about the OT from Northern Iowa? https://www.nfl.com/news/daniel-jeremiah-2022-nfl-mock-draft-1-0-kenny-pickett-malik-willis-among-3-qbs

As I said, I will be more descriptive of Neal and other Crimson Tide players as we get closer to the draft.
-
Steve Serby of the NY Post predicted that he goes to Jax at #1. I agree because his potential is sky high. He coiuld possibly turn out to be a RT of Erik Williams proportions (best that I ever have ever seen) or Orlando Pace at LT (also the best I have ever seen). When the draft comes closer, I will rate all of the Alabama draft eligible players. That said, I cannot begin to imagine how Jax could pass up on an opportunity to have this kid protect Trevor Lawrence.
-
Did you forget about Evan Neal? He might even go at #1 imo.

I know I need a small vacation But it don't look like rain And if it snows that stretch down south Won't ever stand the strain And I need you more than want you And I want you for all time And the Wichita lineman Is still on the line
