  2. You don't need a master's degree from Harvard to know that he was outcoached in some of those Super Bowls. When Reed, Thomas, Kelly and Smith were getting older, Levy made little effort to replace them. He just kept drafting defensive backs in a league that was far more run oriented at the time. The team went straight downhill and Levy was reduced to standing next to Mauck and accompanying him in a screaming, spitting, foul mouthed, useless duet. I guess that you never noticed these trivial things. In any case, thanks so much for allowing me to post opinions on a message board. It matters.
  3. The above is obviously not going over very well. One can't blame Bills Fans for being sentimental and nostalgic at the menotion of Marv. That said, I've got your back. He was (imo) a so-so coach in every department other than soothing the egos of star players (which admittedly was important with those Super Bowl Bills teams). Now if you think he was average at best as a coach, think about just how awful he was as a GM. The 2006 draft was monumentally stupid. It was bad beyond comprehension, much like the hiring of Dick Jauron. Do you remember when he "promised" Nate Clements that he wouldn't use the franchise tag on him? Levy always seemed like a nice man and I give him credit for trying, but there are several posters on this board who would have drafted better players for the Bufalo Bills, and I mean this. Jmo.
  4. Burks is an excellent player and would be a perfect fit on the Bills. The question is will he last?
  5. He seems like a nice enough guy..... https://www.sportscasting.com/chiefs-oc-eric-bieniemys-troubling-rap-sheet-includes-a-disturbing-assault-charge-against-a-woman/
  6. Ooh, your love's for real now You know that your love is my love My love is your love Our love is here to stay What you find-ah What you feel now What you know-a To be real
  7. That is a very interesting suggestion. I do however wonder if teams would just tank sooner. I don't know.
  8. GB, if the Bills cannot get a big time receiver or blocker, I would be for trading out of round 1, although it might be hard to do for a good price. I want to watch a bit more of him on youtube, but from what I have seen, I like the wr from Arkansas quite a bit. What say you? Will he be gone early?
  9. I have a feeling that they will do well in less affluent neighborhoods. Williamsville (one of my favorite communities in the USA) is loaded with great places to eat. Even the fast food (Ted's and Anderson's) are top quality as far as fast food goes. I simply adore that community other than the snow at my age. I could stand the cold but the snow is too much for me. Pizza where I live is $27.00 for a specialty pie and going up. I am friends with a shop owner who told me that the price of his mozzarella has more than doubled and pizza boxes have tripled. I am sure that Pizza Hut does not face the same problems that he does as an individual store owner. Then again, who knows?
  10. After Williams was taken out of the Championship Game, he was walking so well on the sidelines that I thought he was coming back in. I'm talking about NO limp at all. In all honesty, I was not at all mad that he didn't return and risk his financial future on the game. I cannot say it enough.....the 2021 Alabama team was not even close to being as good as the 2020 team, which was better at every position except OLB. It was the best coaching job by Saban of his entire career imo. The 2022 team will be clearly superior 2021, but I doubt that it will be as good as 2020. On a seperate note, I consider this draft to be worse than we have seen in many years, other than OL and perhaps DL. Am I off base with this assumption?
  11. I will have quite a bit to say about Williams before the draft. Some of it might surprise you.
  12. I agree but as another poster added, it would create another "Event" for the NFL to capitalize on.
  13. Shapes, of things before my eyes, Just teach me to despise. Will time make man more wise? Here, within my lonely frame. My eyes just hurt my brain. But will it seem the same? Come tomorrow, will I be older? Come tomorrow, maybe a soldier? Come tomorrow, will I be bolder than today
  14. Comes a time when the blind man takes your hand Says, "Don't you see? Gotta make it somehow on the dreams you still believe Don't give it up, you got an empty cup That only love can fill, only love can fill"
  15. Tell me lies later, come and see me I'll be around for a while I am lonely but you can free me All in the way that you smile Tell me why Tell me why Is it hard to make arrangements with yourself When you're old enough to repay but young enough to sell?
  16. You make an excellent point here. To take it a step further, Belichick and Saban go back well over 40 years. Saban was an assistant for Belichick's dad, which is how they met and have remained friends. There is ZERO possibility that BB and Saban did not discuss Daboll. If Saban got a bad review from BB, there is no way he would have hired him. This indicates to me that the above quote is 100% correct. The odds of nobody having called BB for his opinion are virtually non-existant imo. It also makes me believe that his text was a pure accident. Again, jmo.
  17. Great find. That is how they got the Boston College basketball players and the Luchesse family gangsters. It is woth noting that the above makes no reference to gambling (which I would have assumed that it would). I will still tend to think that the NFL would need a policy in place to go after Flores for not reporting it. My suspicion is that they do, or at least probably do have one. What do you think?
  18. Actually, a cop could get in trouble for not reporting it. You are supposed to make arrests for "Attempted Bribery." It is not beneath Internal Affairs to run tests for this in NYC. They will even have men and women in plain clothes hand you a wallet with zero ID and 100 bucks or so in it to see what you do. They come out to Madison Square Garden and tell a uniformed police officer that they have 20 extra tickets due to people not showing up and try to give them to the cop. I wish that I was joking.
  19. In the state of New York only a public servant can offer or receie a "bribe." Also, one must distinguish between bribes and unlawful graities. An easy rule of thumb would be: bribe = Bad act. Illegal gratuity = Good act. For instance, a police officer arrests a man who is robbing and beating an elderly mother. Her son is happy so he gives the police officer (public official) a 200 dollar gift card to Morton's Steak House. This would be an illegal gratuity. Another person gives a police officer 500 dollars not to arrest him for heroin sales. That is a bribe. Now, can one legally offer a receptionist at a doctor's office (non public servant) a 20 dollar tip for a quicker appointment? Yes, absolutely. I don't know the law in Florida (assuming this is where the alleged offer took place) but I have to believe that Ross's alleged offer was not a crime for the reason stated above. This doesn't in ANY WAY stop the NFL from having a policy which forbids acts like the one alleged. I was was the commissioner I would be very angry that Flores came in 3 years after the fact with this charge (which Ross now denies), and because of what appears to be anger and retribution seeking. Is there an NFL bylaw somewhere demanding that coaches come forward in situations like these? I have no idea, but Ross doesn't look so good right now, and neither does Flores. Of course, this is jmo.
  20. She's come undone She found a mountain that was far too high And when she found out she couldn't fly It was too late It's too late She's gone too far She's lost the sun She's come undone
  21. Oh, my love You're like a precious stone Part of earth Where heaven has rained on Makes no difference Where you are Day or night time You're like a shinin' star And how could I Shine without you When it's about you That I am, whoa-oh, oh-oh Diamond girl Roamin' wild Such a rare thing Radiant child
  22. Augie, Harbaugh's name is being tossed around for that job. Maybe DeMeco thinks that a 2nd interview would be a waste of his time. Harbaugh really is qualified, wouldn't you say? Seriously. But as I said, there really is no holding back a man like Ryans. He will get his chance. Things will happen for him and many other deserving people. That said, you can't start at the top. Not when billions of dollars are involved. That is why I made the point about rewarding teams who hire minority OCs and DCs. And btw, I did not think of this. Another poster in this thread did.
  23. OK, gotcha. I do however think that a majority of NFL roster players do get some sort of signing bonus. I think that anybody can be a racist. I also think that not everybody is racist, even if you own a football team. I agree with posters in this thread that a problem is that there are not enough black OCs and DCs. As you probably know, I am a fan of the Crimson Tide and keep an eye on our current and ex-players. Do you know about DeMeco Ryans? He played at Alabama and is now the DC for the 49ers. He was hired by them in 2017 as a defensive quality control coach and just kept moving up. He recently turned down a second interview with the Vikings for their head coaching job. Imo there is no stopping a man like this. One poster in this thread suggested a draft pick reward for signing a minority OC or DC. Imo this is a smart and novel idea. You can't just appear out of nowhere and become a head coach. There is too much money involved in the NFL, or for that matter major college. Jmo.
  24. I get that and you are right. But again, is a coach in any way obliged to report an offer like this?
