Patrick Willis, Darrelle Revis or Amobi Okoye
Phlegm Alley replied to Max997's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think with so much focus on the secondary last year, the Bills are going to focus on their front 7 and attempt to bolster their porous run D. So I would cross any CB off that list of who to pick at #12. I would like to see a future leader of the D with the acquisition of Patrick Willis. He is taylor made for the Cover 2 that we play. I think Okoye will be a monster, eventually, however I think that he has ascended into the top 10 with his performances at the combine and Senior Bowl. -
Kiwaukee Thomas, Nick Harper, or Roderick Hood. The NC deal just made these guys pretty expensive. You could very well se us take a CB with our first pick.

Who steps up to lead the defense?

Why couldn't it be Schoebel? -
Any chance we could have gotten Adalius Thomas?

I remember a couple of years ago when Rosie COlvin was a highly sought after FA from the Bears, the Pats inked him to a pretty big deal. Myabe they only break the bank on LB especially they know it is a priority. -
With this new, massive O-Line, what RB are we going

I don't know much about Michael Bush as a reciever out of the backfield, but as a previous poster noted, they utilized him by throwing him screen passes and passes to him by design in the flat that were "glorified" runs. I tried looking for some footage of him on youtube and this is all I found. Its a 2007 draft preview of 5 prospects including Bush. As you can see, he is quite large in the mold of a Bettis, but he does display some ellusiveness along with some steamroller-esque qualities. Like I said, if you want a dominant running game between the tackles, go with Bush. He is as fast as McGahee, but a little bit more powerful. He would def be able to pound it between the tackles, and get you the short yardage that we were inconsistent at getting last year to sustain drives (i.e. Week 1 vs the Pats). -

I think that Shaud was re-signed for MORE than just a 3rd RB and change of pace back. He is one of the few players still left from the Meathead regime. Something also tells me that another reason why he was re-signed was because Marv and co. like what he brings from a character standpoint. Why else would he be re-signed with his minimal playing time last year and A-Train is still in a state of flux? -

Frank Gore without hesitation. Michael Bush is 6'2" and weighs in at a hefty 247lbs. If you want a dominant run game, he will punish individuals. -

I think we go change of pace back and get Michael Bush in the 2nd. He would compliment someone like Shaud or whatever FA interim RB they brought in. It would be like the Steelers a in '06: Bettis and WIllie Parker. RB by Comittee is the vogue thing to do in today's NFL. -
You're right. In his presser, he said that we needed LBs that can attack. Obviously, they thought that LFB wasn't the answer and with the inclusion of Spikes to the trading block, Marv and Co. believe that a healthy Ellison is better than a recovering Spikes. This makes me believe that we are going to pursue Patrick Willis come April 28th, regardless of where Crowell plays.

I do think we take a CB on the first day, but I think we take Fletcher'sx replacement at #12 and take Patrick Willis. He was a leader of his defense, won the Butkus award on a bad football team in the hardest college football conference in the nation, and he comes from humble roots. This will be Dick Jauron's "Brian Urlacher". Then I think in the 2nd round, you take the highest rated CB/RB/DT.

Fletcher Signs with Washington Redskins
Phlegm Alley replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ellison's wasn't that bad...and he was a 2nd day pick. I'm sure Willis would be fine considering our rookies performed admirably last year. Whose to say WIllis wouldn't? -

10.5 guarenteed and 12.5 to be paid out in the first 2 years of the contract. Good for London. I'm sure ole Greggo had something to do with it. -
Here is what the Redskins message board had to say about Dockery: Pretty complimentative and they are sad to see an intrical part of their OL go.

Patrick Willis will be a Buffalo Bill come April 28th. Keep Crowell, Spikes and Ellison on the outside. We may get two LBs come draft day.

Draft Needs post Dockery/Walker
Phlegm Alley replied to Draft Tek Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we ABSOLUTELY need to draft ILB. Willis should be there (and given todays developments, I think he is the pick) and I think that Okoye will be gone. I also think we will take a CB and RB on the first day. Hopefully someone like Michael Bush or Lorenzo Booker will still be there in the second. If not, then you target your highest rated DT or CB. -
Ok well the OL is upgraded now

I think we should either pursue a CB or a LB now. I wouldn't expect too much FA action on the OL. -
Bills sign OG Derrick Dockery, 7 years $49M
Phlegm Alley replied to CJPearl2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We need to sign Gandy first in order to accomplish that lineup. -
Largest deal EVAH for a FB. What were the Falcons thinking? They had a quality FB they could have re-signed, but they opted for a more expensive one.

Is anyone else glad to see our GM following up on what he says this team's needs are? Granted, Marv isn't breaking the bank on high profile OLineman like Steinbeck, Hutchinson, Diel, but he has brought in 3 Offensive Linemen in the first day of FA and he is trying to shore up a unit that was pretty deficient in the for most of the year last year. I wonder if we are going to sign Gandy and try to put him at RG or if we are going to fill that hole via the draft. I think if we can sign 3 decent OLinemen today, we can concentrate on building our defense through the draft. -

I'll pass. Definitely NOT a team player. Just ask Bobber. -
I think S & J was just being sarcastic.
-
He's been a starter for the Skins since '03 when they drafted him in the 3rd round. It would be a definite upgrade over Gandy right now and it would give us a great left side of the line. Hoepfully there is an offer on the table before he leaves.

Buffalo is one of 7 teams interested in RB Chris Brown
Phlegm Alley replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't mind Chris Brown. I think he runs too upright though wihich makes him a big target. Another interesting tid bit from KFFL: Colts | Reagor released Fri, 2 Mar 2007 09:14:57 -0800 John Oehser, of Colts.com, reports the Indianapolis Colts released DT Montae Reagor.
