  1. I watched a good portion of the game and some of the play calling made me scratch my head. Twice on 3rd down, once on a 3rd and 7, the other on a 3rd in 4, he ran screen passes. The first was a WR Bubble screen, and the other was one to the FB. It should be noted that they have a talented RB that was gouging the Buffaloes for yards on every carry, but they opted to throw the second screen pass to a slower RB. He does have a lot of work to do however...they looked decent at times, other times, they weren't good at all.
  2. Derek Anderson QB Cleveland Browns Trent Edwards QB Buffalo Bills Marshawn Lynch RB Buffalo Bills Thomas Jones RB NY Jets Julian Jones RB Seatle Seahawks Ray Rice RB Blatimore Ravens Fred Jackson RB Buffalo Bills Reggie Wayne WR Indianapolis Colts Roy WIlliams WR Detroit Lions Dwayne Bowe WR Kansas City Chiefs James Hardy WR Buffalo Bills DJ Hackett WR Carolina Panthers Vernon Davis TE SanFrancisco 49ers Mason Crosby K GB Packers Def Dallas Cowboys I only have 1 TE on the roster so I may have to trade one of my WRs or RBs for a little more depth. I got great value with D Anderson getting him in the 8th round. I'm pretty satisfied with my depth at RB and WR. Other guys that I wanted to target that I didn't get were Ted Ginn Jr, Chris Perry RB for Cincy, and Jon Kitna. Tell me what you guys think.
  3. Link They are going with a 3-headed monster at DT to help fill the shoes of Stroud and are trying to get quicker on the ends to provide more pressure on the QB. However, they still haven't signed 1st round pick Harvey. One of the quotes from the article mentioned that when Stroud was healthy during the first 8 games of lasat season, the team had a 19% stuff rate on runs up the middle and when he was out for the final 8, the Jags had a 28% successful run stuff rate. 9 November 4 @ New Orleans Saints L 41-24 Louisiana Superdome 5-3 10 November 11 @ Tennessee Titans W 28-13 LP Field 6-3 11 November 18 San Diego Chargers W 24-17 Jacksonville Municipal Stadium 7-3 12 November 25 Buffalo Bills W 36-14 Jacksonville Municipal Stadium 8-3 13 December 2 @ Indianapolis Colts L 28-25 RCA Dome 8-4 NFL 14 December 9 Carolina Panthers W 37-6 Jacksonville Municipal Stadium 9-4 NFL 15 December 16 @ Pittsburgh Steelers W 29-22 Heinz Field 10-4 NFL 16 December 23 Oakland Raiders W 49-11 Jacksonville Municipal Stadium 11-4 NFL 17 December 30 @ Houston Texans L 42-28 Reliant Stadium 11-5 NFL In week 9, the Saints put up 538 total yards including 103 yards on the ground at an average of 4.1 yards per rush. 4. There was another play where Edwards had to check down on a play designed to go to Hardy. He ended up dumping it off to F. Jackson because I don't think it was there. I'm sure the coaching staff wanted to see what they had with Hardy, but the opportunities were minimal.
  5. The people on this board have grown accustomed to the big play ability of Losman and would like to see Edwards be able to do the same, but the truth of the matter is, the folks that call the shots seem to be more content with grooming Edwards to be a more cerebral QB relying on taking what the defense is giving him and his receivers ability to get yards after the catch. I'm sure there will be attempts to go deep in a game to keep the defense honest, just not as frequent as a lot of you expect.
  6. I just read on the ESPN sports ticker that the Dolphins have already contacted Pennington's agent.
  7. Cocaine is a hell of a drug
  8. I like what say in the majority of your posts Trooth and I truly respect your opinion WRT the Peters situation. The Bills did finish 31st in Offense last year with Jason and we could probably get the same ranking without him this year, however, as a unit, the O-Line only gave up 26 sacks as a team, which is 21 fewer sacks than the season before. I think a lot of this is attributed to the acquisition of Dockery and Walker, along with the development of Butler and Peters so if Peters decides to sit out, I think this sacks allowed number is one that you'll see increase this upcoming season.
  9. Just a quick search through the anagram generator netted me this result:
  10. Hopefully the presence of a 3 time Pro-Bowler at the same position will only help out in the development of McCargo.
  11. He was my favorite comedian of all time. Too sad. Glad I got the opportunity to see him live before the candle went out. RIP George.
  12. He also appeared in the Jarmusch film "Coffee and Cigarettes" along with a few other musicians and you could tell he is a natural. I don't know his catalog too extensively, but I am knowledgeable enough to know that he is referenced as being a major influence to some of my favorite bands/musicians. I have heard a few songs and the quote in my sig is courtesy of Mr. Waits.
  13. Better picture of Sweetin pre-boob job with Candace.
  14. I have never heard of that before. Thanks for the link, however, I believe I'm going to cut my losses and "part ways with the company".
  15. It is a privately owned family operation that broadcasts news for 4 hours (5pm-9pm) M-F and they are primarily concerned with making money and treating the employees like shiite. Most News organizations (~99%) would customarily provide employees cars or vans to get to news stories, however, the hierarchy of ineptitude that plagues the rational thought within the company is mind bogglingly frustrating.
  16. 2 years ago I was hired in Manhattan to be a camera man for a television news station here in the tri-state area. I had a car when I was hired, however, I got rid of it because I now rely on mass transit to get around to news stories. My boss called me up today and said they want me to work/report into White Plains (1/2 hour North of Manhattan) on a daily basis and perform my same duties up there as I do down here in Manhattan. However, he said that I would need a car and that I have to let them know by tomorrow if I plan on acquiring a car or not. If not, they would have to part ways with me in 2 weeks with no severance package and only able to collect unemployment. As an employee, am I entitled to anything to fight this? Can they fire me for not having a car?
  17. Wow. Investing in a bar in North Philly?!?!? Harrison seems like an even-keeled guy and not someone you would expect to shoot anybody else. I'll reserve judgement until I hear more.
  18. As a lot of you may or may not know, I work in television news and occasionally, I get afforded a pretty cool opportunity to do some interesting things. Today was one of those days as I went to Hofstra University on Long Island to interview the Jets rookies. I've never been in a professional teams locker room and to see these guys in their natural environment was a great experience. They were all genuinely enthusiastic with it being the first day of rookie mini-camp. Gholston is going to be wearing #56 and projects as being a pass rushing specialist ala Shawn Merriman, and also lining up as a DE. This is kinda strange considering they just signed Calvin Pace to a pretty big contract. Erik Ainge is also pretty tall. I didn't realize that he was as tall as he was. We weren't able to film any of the practice or walk through becasue Mangina is notorious for not allowing the media a lot of time to film (85 minutes total for the entire weekend) the new guys. They fed us pretty well too...sandwiches, salads, asparagus, cookies...a lot more than any other media event I've ever covered before. Also...I got to see the Vince Lombardi trophy encased in the entrance of the practice facility. I thought it was pretty strange to be there. It was the first time I have ever seen the trophy in person.
  19. What is going on in Saratoga that weekend? I live in the metropolitan area now but I am going back up there for a wedding on the 16th. And I love the Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA. There is a place (the only place as far as I know) here in Hoboken NJ that has it on tap and it is always a treat to stop by there and have 1 maybe 6 of them
  20. Another thing about Sandals is that they include 5 bottles of liquor in the room and they refill them each morning. Great place to go if you and the Mrs. are raging alcoholics.
