  1. I saw the play and my girlfriend, who doesn't know anything about football, asked me "why would they do something like that? We're they trying to show off?" I thought it was kinda funny that my girlfriend recognized that it was a pretty dumb play.
  2. Did I thank ya yet today? If not, thankya!
  3. Another win for Cuse coming back from 13 down for the second straight game. Jackson spelled Onuaku off the bench late in the second half to provide a spark for the team. Good to see the big man contributing and getting some minutes and making the most of them. We know better to get too excited about WNY teams getting off to a hot start. Time to temper the enthusiasm and wait til they start playing other teams in the Big East before anything. Also, Georgetown looked very beatable against TEN today. I see them faltering a little bit as well.
  4. I did mean Harris. He plays a lot bigger than his size. He had a team high 14 rebounds and his rebounding numbers have increase every year at Syracuse. He averaged more than 8 boards a game last year and this year he's averaging almost 10 a game. Even though his size wouldn't indicate it, he is a beast underneath and the physical presence teamed up with Onuaku's could win a lot of ball games for the Orange this year. Jackson has done well when given the chance, he just isn't the scorer that Onuaku or Harris is. Yet.
  5. Johnny Flynn's stock continues to rise. On this pace, he won't be back for his Junior year. They have a pretty big presence in the middle with Onuaku and Harris. Onuaku outplayed one of the top 5 big men in the nation in Cole Aldrich last night. Rautins is a streaky shooter, but once he gets going, he is pretty good getting the kick out 3 once Flynn gets pretty good penetration. Devendorf can knock down the triple as well but he is way too inconsistent and he is a turnover machine. Looks like Cuse will be in the top 25 and maybe in creeps into the top 15 after their first 5 games. Not too bad for a team that was picked to finish 8th in the Big East by a lot of pundits.
  6. I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question...I'm not too much of a videophile. Will the HD channels be of better quality if I get an HD box even though it is an "enhanced" definition tv? It is a Panasonic, 42" plasma screen TV. If there is a difference, how much can I expect? I know it won't be nearly as high of a quality as HD, but would it be substantial enough of a difference to warrant getting the HD service even if its primarily only going to be used for sports? Thanks. -Bob
  7. Miami has to play 4 of those games on the road. Not a real easy task for any team. As for the Bills not having much luck against teams with a winning record...I have to agree with your assessment. Don't get me wrong, I feel we can beat anyone...especially in our own division, but you do make a point.
  8. I was actually hoping they hung 70 on Tony Gonzales and the Chiefs.
  9. The movie looks effing awesome. Good to see Muse getting some play in the previews.
  10. No question. He's not one to shy away from showing emotion on the sideline either.
  11. Has Dick's teams ever had a specific identity besides losing? He is still trying to establish an identity and it is one that has proven to be unsuccessful in 9 years of coaching. 1 winning season in his career as a head coach. At least with Schottenheimer, you know what you're getting. It may be conservative to a fault, but it would comply with the blue collar mentality that the Buffalo fan base is predicated upon. I would venture out to say that we have all the pieces for a successful Marty Ball style offense with a bruising RB in Lynch and the change of pace back in Jackson along with the heaviest OLine in the NFL. Schottenheimer could get the most out of the talent that we have here.
  12. Everybody talks about Cowher like he is the end all be all of coaches when in reality, if it weren't for Schottenheimer, Cowher would never of gotten a chance to coach in the NFL. Heck, Tony Dungy, Cam Cameron and Herm Edwards wouldn't have either. Marty has received a lot of criticism in his days as a HC because he has won more games than anyone in the NFL without coaching his team to the Super Bowl. I would much prefer him than Jauron. At least with MS, you would get a player from Buffalo's AFL past glory, a HC with a record thats 74 games over .500 (200-126), and a coach who has a specific mentality with regard to football philosophy. One thing that kills me is that this Bills team has zero identity. Look at the teams that are playing winning football right now. The Giants, Titans, Carolina Panthers, and Steelers are teams that have an identity of playing smash mouth football on both sides the ball. They win by running the football and stopping the run. At least with a coach like MS, you know you are going to get Marty ball and that could be a successful philosophy here in B-Lo.
  13. Cowher has also coached and played within the organization before plus he is familiar with people within that division. No way Cowher comes here.
  14. If Pro Bowl voting ended today, 20 Redskins would be on their way to Hawaii. This list would also include Punter Packemeier, who was released by the Seahawks after their game against the Bills earlier this year.
  15. They just don't make them like they used to.
  16. 1 winning season in 9 seasons of coaching. Pathetic.
  17. I am up 10 points going into tonight's game. I still have Marshawn and he has Jamal Lewis. I just hope the Bills RTB.
  18. I wouldn't discount the fact that the G-Men are pretty good, but they go into Arizona next week to face the red hot Cardinals. I think the surprise team could be the Cardinals with Warner who is on the verge of winning his 3rd MVP and has a potent offense and a defense that has been stepping up lately.
  19. Quinn looked pretty good last night. He didn't throw any deep balls so everything was 20 yards and under, but he avoided pressure well and stood in the pocket. A big concern would be the chemistry that he has with Winslow. They also utilized the PA pass effectively which freed up a lot of time and allowed his receivers to get pretty open at times.
  20. You're right. I didn't fact check before and was trying to think of it off the top of my head. Brandon Marshall: right idea, wrong forum.
  21. I guess he said in the post game that it was a glove that was half white, half black that he was going to pull out and attempt to raise his fist much like the Olympians in Seoule back in the 60's in honor of Obama's win. Seriously.
  22. I'm sure we all remember Bruschi's "vomit inducing return from his stroke" game that was covered extensively by ESPN and gave birth to the obscure stat known as "hits per game". This is also the game that Kelly Holcomb was unable to throw the ball to the first down marker on the 4th down play to sealed our fate. Then, there was the JP Losman safety game where we were up by 10 at the half and came out with the ball to begin the 2nd half and methodically drove down the field and went for it on 4th and 1 instead of kicking a FG and didn't convert. These represent the 2 closest times we were in position to win the game at Gillette and we just didn't finish.
  23. We went out in Downtown Philly last night anticipating a Phillies win and ensuing chaos shortly thereafter. The rain definitely put a damper on the night and I do believe that there was nothing Selig could do about it. They should've called the game and play a full 9 inning game when the weather subsides. It is raining buckets now so I don't see how this is going to be played tonight.
