Curtis Brinkley shot in Philly

I was thinking the same thing. I have a couple of friends who live in Cheltenham and, AKAIK, it's a pretty safe area. -

It would be good for business in Gary, Indiana. Where else should they bury him? -
That's just bad luck. After reading that, I just got thirsty.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but yesterday afternoon at around 4:40 pm here in Philly, my g/f and I were out getting a bite to eat at a California Pizza Kitchen about 5 miles from downtown in a very popular burb. As we were eating I looked over an noticed a familiar athlete but couldn't put my finger on who it was. I was telling my girlfriend that he played basketball and I thought he played for the 76ers. When the dude got up to leave, he was huge, tallest person I have ever seen in my life. The restaurant managers and back of the house staff all were in the dining area of the restaurant and I approached them and asked who it was. They said that it was Zydrunas Ilgauskas, aka "The Big Z". I thought it was pretty random seeing the 2nd tallest player in the NBA, a day after his previous team made a big trade to replace him, at a little random chain restaurant in the suburbs of Philly.

Here ya go. The Losman overthrow of Moulds is on here too. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlig...ints-19-Bills-7 -
IMHO, Stephen Curry belongs in the "Things that are overrated" thread. One trick pony AFAIC. Flynn is the real deal and I've been hearing the T-Wolves are going to keep Flynn and trade Rubio, the phenom out of Spain.

Jonny Flynn was just drafted by the Minnesota T-Wolves. However, the T-Wolves also drafted another point guard right before him in Ricky Rubio, so one of them is going to get dealt.

I wouldn't consider Yankees fans ALWAYS being obnoxious douchebags. I was born in '79 and grew up rooting for Yankees teams that fielded players like Alvaro Espinoza, Kevin Maas, Steve Balboni, Ken Phelps, Pat Kelly, Claudell Washington, Roberto Kelly, Matt Nokes, Dan Pasqua, Andy Hawkins, and Tim Leary (the guy who swallowed an emory board that was hidden in his mitt while being approached by an umpire). They were AWFUL. I didn't have any grounds to be an obnoxious douchebag. While I know that the Yanks have become a team throws $$$ around (I prefer to build from within much like the Minnesota Twins) the core of their teams that won the World Series titles from 1996-2000 was built primarily by guys that they brought up from within the organization (Jeter, Posada, Rivera, Pettitte). Now, the Yankees get criticized every time they throw big bucks at a FA, which has done nothing but prove that just because you spend $$$ in FA, it doesn't necessarily equate into success.

The guy obviously has a lazy eye. As far as the content, everybody bashes Marshall Faulk, and I can't blame them, but he does make a point. The offensive line is going to be the key to the offensive this year. I think if we get decent O-Line play this year, we'll be in the top 10 as far as offenses are concerned. People over emphasize the impact of Jason Peter's departure, just look at the Steelers as an example. They won the Super Bowl and they just gave OT Max Starks a 4 year extension after he moved from the RT position to the LT position last year.

I know the Knicks are looking for a pure point guard that can run D'Antonio's fast paced high scoring offense that's in the mold of 2 time MVP Steve Nash. Flynn, unfortunately doesn't fit that mold because of his inability to consistently shoot from long range, but I think he is the best pure point guard in the draft along with Ty Lawson. He can create off the dribble, and shoot the mid range j decently, but unfortunately, I think that the Knicks are going to target Stephen Curry. If Curry is gone by the time the Knicks pick, I hope they go with Flynn.

In the US Open, hitting it in the fairway is imperative. However, because of all the rain yesterday, they had to remove the standing water in the fairways into the rough and that has allowed a number of players to get a free drop from the standing water that has accumulated in the rough. The rain has also taken away the ball's ability to roll after landing, preventing the ball from rolling into the rough.

Left over BBQ chicken pizza on whole wheat crust.

I was wondering the same thing. I saw him mark his ball with a tee when play was suspended. You gotta figure that they mowed the greens before play today so what did they do with the mark?
-
Sage-what do you think about Rory McElroy? In all honesty, this is what golf is all about. One of the few weeks that I root for the golf course to win. Its just too bad that there was so much rain yesterday and they are calling for a similar amount to fall tomorrow. IMHO, it makes the golf course play a little bit easier and even though the golf course is longer than it was in 2002, you'll probably see a number of scores under par. There are a number of guys that I am rooting for. Rocco, David Duval, Jim Furyk.

Playing NE 1st game gives us best shot of beating them
Phlegm Alley replied to BillZerk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I agree that Tom Brady may be rusty due to it being his first game back from injury and Bellicheck not having any film on the Bills new offensive strategy, I believe that you have to handicap the Bills offense for the same reasons. Is the Bills offense going to be running at full speed with a majority of the team having never run it before? You would have to expect a learning curve on the offensive side of the ball, which could result in some early season hiccups. -
I kinda like the idea of pushing the Super Bowl back to President's Day where the general public can have a day of recovery following the "big game". I also see nothing wrong with owners getting more money from the increase of regular season games, ie Ralph Wilson. Whatever extra revenue he could bring in as a result would help the Bills to remain in Buffalo.

Try hitting up some of the restaurants in the area. I haven't been up there in a while (originally from Mechanicville) but I used to bartend at TGIFriday's almost 10 years ago before the area blew up. Now there are a ton of restaurants in CP. I would also suggest going up to Saratoga and see if you could work the summer meet up there. I bartended and waited tables during my summers while I was at school and made a TON of money. One tip about the service industry (if you would consider working at a restaurant) I can give you is to show up at the restaurant between 2:30 and 4:30 pm on a weekday and ask to speak to a manager. If you have some friends that work at a location see if they'll put in a good word for you. Also check out summer internships in the field that you are pursuing. If you are a looking for something in the communications industry, my brother-in-law used to be the GM for Albany Broadcasting (local radio stations). They are located in Latham. Good luck!

Seems to be living up to his last name unlike Youboty. I hear dude has been striking out on the lady front for some time now. -
Glad someone else gets it.

MJD is a top 5 pick this year, no questions about it. He's top 3 if it is a PPR league. Who else is taking carries away from him this year? They have a great defense which means that they are probably going to run the ball more. He is coming off a 14 TD season, has a career 4.8 YPA, and had 62 catches last year. Oh, and his O-Line got completely decimated by injuries and he himself was injured last year with a high ankle sprain yet still averaged 4.2 YPA. I'll take MJD over any other RB next year except maybe AD. I think he will be a #1 producer and I would take him #1 overall. You're starting to sound like the people on this board come draft time with their arguments about reaching for a player who the Bills could've drafted 10 spots later. If you like someone, take him. No questions asked.
-
AD may be the consensus #1 overall pick, especially if he can get a QB to take the pressure off of him. However, I am going to say that Maurice Jones-Drew would be my #1 if I was picking.
