  1. Funny thing (or sad), is that after he struck his goalie in the head, he still went back and broke the stick over the goal post and skated away as if he didn't realize that he just struck him. Other teammates were on the ice seeing if he was going to be alright, except for him.
  2. Rookies should be seen, not heard.
  3. Is there a buy out if he's fired? I though that if you're fired, you're paid the entirety of the contract. If this were the case, Weis gets a nice $18 million buy out.
  4. Even though the Bills won yesterday, they would still be picking 8th, which is exactly where they would be picking had they lost.
  5. TO's time here in Buffalo is just an audition for other, more competitive teams out there, in hope of him signing one last deal that is commensurate with his abilities . I think the Bills hold just one bargaining chip and that is the possible franchise tag that they could use on him if they can't sign him to an extension. I just don't see the Bills shelling out top 5 $$$ to a WR, and I can't see TO signing a long term (3-4) year deal with this team unless he feels its going to either A) Contend for the playoffs in the next 1-2 years, or B) Ensure some stability from the top down. I agree that he is the best player on the Bills, but if a new regime comes in and decides to clean house and rebuild from square 1, TO doesn't fit into that mold and the best thing to do would be to let him walk.
  6. No doubt Weis is gone. One of the main excuses for Charlies' shortcomings is ND's ability to compete against other programs that don't have as high of academic standards as ND's. That argument was just thrown out the window by a Stanford team (8-4) with much higher academic standards than that of ND.
  7. Had it and enjoyed it. I actually just got back from Reading Terminal here in Philly to pick one up. It is good, but we're also frying up a turkey as well.
  8. Precisely the reason why I think that this is how its going to end up, when all is said and done. I am a little afraid of the GM/HC combo that some of these guys (Cowher, Shanahan) the Bills are going after. I much prefer a GM and HC to be two different people, but on the same page. This quote from AJ is the reason why I think it should be Nix at GM and Schottenheimer as HC and I'd pay him $5-$6 million to do the job.
  9. They didn't let them score and they had the ball with about a minute left and 1 timeout to try and send the game into overtime...which would've happened had Fitzpatrick been able to throw an accurate pass to TO when he was open on the last two pass plays. I have no problem with not letting them score, but a more accurate QB would've sent that game into OT and given the team another chance to win the game.
  10. We all saw how much Nantz was being compensated by CBS. They just had to get their $$$ worth. But I agree. I thought that CIN had it wrapped up and was surprised to see that OAK had come from behind to win.
  11. Agree on most points and I would add that it was good to see TO get involved in the game. He is so talented and I think he has plenty of good years left in him. I know a lot of people are divided on his future with the team, but I would love to see him come back for another year.
  12. Plus KC and Detroit won. Too bad the Redskins couldn't hold on. But we do need a lot of help from other teams if we plan on moving up the draft board.
  13. I thought it was also a classy move by Owens to assist Wood in getting into the cart to get taken off the field after his injury.
  14. He was 22 games over .500 without Elway (91-69). Cutler was the QB those last 3 years, so he was developing a new QB.
  15. I'm all for the Broise getting some PT.
  16. Sounds like you just described my father. He is a huge Tiger Woods golf fan.
  17. Knight was calling the Ohio St. vs Cal game tonight and when asked about the Cuse/UNC game, he said that he'd be surprised if Cuse lost the game versus UNC. Cuse is as athletic of a college team that I have ever seen, and after seeing teams like Nova, G-Town, (haven't seen Louisville, WVU, or UCONN), but this team should win the Big East and get a #1 seed come March. Congrats on a big win tonight, and after tonights game, they should easily be ranked in the top 10 and they have an extremely easy schedule. Their next opponent that is a formidable force is @FLA on Dec. 10th.
  18. There aren't any beer specials at Tailgators, but the waitstaff is a collection of some of the finest talent I have ever encountered at a dining establishment. That in itself is a reason in itself to check out a game there. Peabody's in Saratoga is now owned by Bailey's next door and they've combined the establishments to turn it into a super-establishment. That would be a nice place to host a Backers bar. Albany backers club should be just what its supposed to be...at a bar in Albany.
  19. There is only 1 sports bar in CP that I can think of: Tailgators. I watched a game there earlier this year and it was decent. Which bar are they watching the games at in CP?
  20. I disagree. These big name coaches do want to get paid, which Jerry Jones is willing to do. However, these high profile coaches also want power to make personnel decisions, which I'm sure is asking Jerry Jones' ego too much. No way he'll part with the power to make decisions. He wants a "yes" man as his HC and he already is on the Cowgirls coaching staff: Jason Garett. Garett could've had a HC position elsewhere already, but Jerry stepped up and paid him some big $$$ to stay on as a OC which could grow into a HC position with the team if Wade fails. The one team you should be worrying about is the Redskins.
  21. Think about it....you have an owner who has said on record this week that he plans on cleaning house from top to bottom at the end of the season. That means nobody's job is safe. I fully expect the Bills to be fired up and to play with a lot of intensity considering that tomorrow is no guarantee and they are essentially playing for their jobs.
  22. Living here in Philly, I hear about the Peters' acquisition all the time, and the Eagles fans haven't been happy with his play at all. I think this team is better off long term with Wood and Nelson anyways partly because I believe Wood is going to be one of the best G/C in the game in a few years while Peters has been plagued with inconsistent play. I do agree with PTR, that even though the Bills may have made the right decision to trade Peters, they didn't have a viable replacement on the roster and they didn't address the vacancy in the draft or free agency. If the talent evaluators on this team really thought that Walker or Bell was going to be an ample replacement, then this organization has larger problems.
