The 10 Best Twist Endings in Movies
Phlegm Alley replied to erynthered's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I would have to nominate Oldboy. It is a South Korean film, but it has one of the craziest, sickest twist endings of a movie I have ever seen. It also features a man eating a live octopus. -
Or we could stay put and draft Derrick Morgan, whom Gailey recruited.

Demaryius Thomas
Phlegm Alley replied to Wilson from Gamehendge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Having watched this guy play, all he does is make plays. As someone eluded to earlier in the thread, GTs option offense and QB situation severely limited what this guy is capable of doing. Seeing as how now WR is a position that may be addressed this offseason, I would love if the Bills went after this guy, even if it is as early as the 2nd round. -

I need to Vent;I hate the State of Pennsylvania
Phlegm Alley replied to plenzmd1's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I have to agree with you on all accounts. Traffic sucks. I-76 is gridlocked at all hours of the day. The mass transit system is a friggin joke. People commended Mayor Nutter over the way he handled the recent snowstorms, but in reality, the streets are still not clear with cars still buried. My trash hasn't been picked up in the 2 weeks since the storms. Beer costs an arm and a leg and you can't buy anything less than a case unless you go to a bar where you are subjected to bar prices. Just recently the city of Philadelphia instituted a sort of "stimulus plan" where they were going to create work and jobs and repave streets all over the city. Well, wouldn't you know, 1 paving company got the bulk of the contract worth millions of taxpayer $$$ and they tore up streets that were paved as recently as 2 years ago. At least while living here in Philly, we do have relatively close access to major hubs up and down the east coast (NYC, Atlantic City, DC, Baltimore, and Delaware when I need to pick up tax free alcohol). But we also have close access to a full spectrum of dooshbags. -
Quick question about registering a car in Pennsylvania
Phlegm Alley replied to Phlegm Alley's topic in Off the Wall Archives
That's what the plan is Simon, but I am due to purchase this vehicle tomorrow and I would be unable to get to a PennDOT tomorrow due to conflicts with work. I didn't know if proof of residency was sufficient enough to get a vehicle registered in the state where you had proof of residency. -
Quick question: I moved here from NY last year and just last week, I officially changed my address through the Post Office to my Philadelphia address. I have yet to go to a PA DMV to change my license from NYS to a PA license. I am also in the process of buying a new car and the person I am buying the car from says that without a Pennsylvania license, the car would end up getting registered in NYS. Does anyone know if I can still get the car registered in PA without having a PA driver's license, or would I have to get the car registered in NYS, get it inspected in NYS, then change the information over and re-register it once I get a PA license. Any information or experience had with a similar situation would be extremely helpful.

Here in Philly, Nutter has asked businesses to remain closed within city limits so they can get to clearing the roads. I have yet to see a plow drive by my house today and we live on one of the busier roads. They closed down 3 of the 4 major roadways (I-76, I-476, and I-276 but kept I-95 open) and people have still been driving on them, unsuccessfully. From what I have been told, these closed roadways are littered with cars that couldn't get through the mess and had to be abandoned. I just got done shoveling for the 3rd time, and unfortunately, I have no other place to put the snow from my driveway. I have already created a 10 foot snowpile for snow from my driveway, but I can't pile any more snow on there because it won't stay put. If I try to put it anywhere else, it would be on my neighbors property or I would be burying a car that is parked on the street. Not sure how I am going to get to work tomorrow, especially when I am expecting several roads that I use to travel to not have been plowed.

Nix Gets Nice Slam On "Whitey"....

Nix reminds me of JR Ewing from the sitcom "Dallas". -
Hoping for a speedy recovery for you and your family Beer Sphere.

Fair enough, but Hansbrough is a rookie on the Pacers and he's averaging 8.5 points a game and nearly 5 rebounds a game. I wouldn't label him as a scrub yet. Seems to be developing nicely. I would say that is decent and I liken him a Joakim Noah, who possesses similar intangibles and weaknesses, has developed nicely as one of the leagues top rebounders even though he came out of college relatively raw. Would you want a guy on your team who is good, but not sure if he is going to give it his all or someone who has the potential to be good, and is willing to bust his tail in doing so? I think the Tebows and the Hansbroughs are the latter and will only get better.

Dude...you're comparing a football player to a basketball player
-
I would love to have Tebow on this team. Everyone talks about us needing a QB, LT, LB, etc. What this team needs are "football players" and Tebow is exactly that.

Anyone got tonight's Syracuse hoops score?
Phlegm Alley replied to Lori's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Syracuse is to Rocky as Georgetown is to Apollo Creed. -
#1 #2 #3 Her "O" face

Great game, but I thought Minnesota gave the game away with all the fumbles, penalties, and the late INT by Favre. Should be a pretty good Super Bowl though.

I'm rooting for the Saints as well. First championship game in the Superdome.

In exactly 1 month...
Phlegm Alley replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We had, arguably, our best best draft in recent years and I think it was no coincidence that it was Buddy Nix's first year back in Buffalo. Here's hoping in his 2nd year, and first as the guy who is calling the shots, the Bills will get some players who will make immediate contributions. Have faith in Buddy. -
They got Bradford listed at 197 pounds?!?!

How was that not a false start on that wildcat option play? The RB was in the backfield moving towards the flat on that play before the snap. -

Tough break right there not getting in for the TD. I believe in a situation like that, you need to huddle up and call the best play possible, but Nantz was right, they did rush to the line. -

What is the line in this game? Is it 12? -

The slant pattern that Edwards caught a pass on during the first drive set that play up nicely. I hate the Jets.
