  1. I like him better than Bryant. He makes great catches in traffic and he doesn't have all the character concerns that Bryant has. He was the only receiving threat on that team and when opponents knew they were going to be throwing it, they couldn't stop him from catching it.
  2. I think you have to go with the potential franchise QB if there, but I would be happy if they went with Spiller as well.
  3. If the draft unfolded like this, I would do back flips. I agree I love Decker more than Shipley and think that he is going to be a great WR in the NFL.
  4. Bong hits for breakfast.
  5. You're right. There has to be some risks taken in the draft and, with Tebow, I think the risk isn't as large as a lot of people think it is. I love his intangibles, and me personally, would love to have a player like him on this football team. However, when you hear guys like Polian, who are the best in the business at evaluating football talent, say they wouldn't risk their job by selecting Tebow with hopes of him becoming your future franchise QB, it would make me less comfortable making that selection.
  6. I could see that happening as well, considering I've read that Campbell is an OT in a D-Ends body. I pray to God that something like that occurs.
  7. With the way the draft is structured this year, having a pick on the first day of any of the days, has to be quite refreshing knowing you'll have an entire day, rather than 15 minutes, to reassess your draft boards.
  8. If it was my first year as a GM in the NFL, I don't know if I could make a selection, especially involving a franchise QB hopeful, with so many question marks.
  9. I think they do select Spiller as well. They will move Lynch for a lat 2nd-early 3rd and with Spiller, they have arguably, the best player at his position in the draft. With the emergence of Chris Johnson, he took a marginal game manager at QB in Kerry Collins and led them to the playoffs as a rookie. I think that Spiller has the opportunity to be better than Johnson consider his experience in a better conference and his ability to return kicks/punts. His running style would also be a great compliment to Fred Jackson's, IMHO. I agree that Edwards may be salvageable as well and agree that this team, with the division getting stronger, will probably be in position to draft a QB early next year if Edwards falls on his face like everyone here at TSW is predicting.
  10. Last year, it was a surprise to most that Al Davis selected Heyward-Bey over the more polished Crabtree with the 7th pick in the draft. It was also a minor surprise that the Chiefs selected DE Tyson Jackson with the 3rd overall selection. What do you think this years surprise selections will be? Mine are: Demariyus Thomas will be the first wide receiver selected and he will be selected by the Broncos with the 12th pick. Tim Tebow will get drafted by the Vikings in the last half of the 1st round. With Percy Harvin there, the uncertainty of Favre coming back, and the fact they have very few holes to fill, make the Vikes an ideal landing spot for Tebow. The Bills, after trading Lynch, will draft Spiller with the 9th pick. Even though Fred Jackson isn't that large, he does possess a powerful running style that moves piles and I think that Spiller would be a great compliment to Fred's game.
  11. Don't get me wrong...I think that BR is guilty of conduct that is unbecoming of a 2-time Super Bowl winning QB and can be classified as a scum bag, but this girl in her drunken naivety has to be held accountable to a certain degree as well. How is she drinking in bars when she's only 20 years old to begin with? BR should be at least charged with providing alcohol to minors, don't you think?
  12. I don't understand why bad things happen to good posters. The lord works in mysterious ways YE. Best of luck to you, and your family.
  13. With the ascension of Demaryio Thomas up the draftboards and the questionable character of Dez Bryant, I could see the Broncos drafting Thomas with the #12 pick.
  14. I'm sure our front office along with scouting department are assessing and measuring not only this years class, but also next years potential class of draftees. So if they manage their expectations for this upcoming season, against the reasonable expectations of other teams in the league, they should have a good idea of where they will be picking in next year's draft. They can then conclude or project which prospects will be available to them when they are picking next year, which should help them make their selection this year.
  15. Modern Drunkard Magazine is daily reading for me.
  16. With Delhomme set to make $7M this year, do you think the Browns would want to invest that much $$$ into the QB position this year? Clausen, if picked #5 overall, will get paid around $8M-$9M/year with a pretty hefty signing bonus to boot. I just can't see them doing that.

  18. Similar situation happened to me. I fell asleep on a NJ Transit train from NYC bound for Trenton and was awoken by a guy in the NJ Transit train yard in Norristown, PA. I was kinda f'ed.
  19. It was smart from a PR perspective for Nike not to terminate their relationship with Tiger after all of his dalliances. Otherwise, they wouldn't of had the opportunity to make this commercial, and look like geniuses in the "Tiger re-imaging World Tour".
  20. I'm a Clausen fan and would love to see the Bills draft him if he's there at #9, but I bet you'll get your garden variety "he's from California" reasoning smattered somewhere within this thread.
  21. Build this team through the draft and gain credibility through that. If Chan and co. feel Clausen, or any other QB for that matter, can be the QB of the future, and they can find him in this draft, draft him. Otherwise, it should be a great QB competition with the QBs we have on the roster.
  22. If other teams want Tebow, selecting Tebow at #9 may be the best way for this team to get more picks in this draft. Remember how San DIego leveraged the selection of Manning in order to get future picks, and the player they originally wanted in Rivers. I could see the Bills brain trust doing something similar. Select Tebow at #9, trade him to the Jags for their next years 1st round pick.
  23. I place much credence as to what Nevergiveup has told us and with that info, you can pretty much say that Jimmy will not be the pick.
