Let's take care of business today, boys, girls and everyone. One too many scotches tonight. Saturday was good, let's have a winning Sunday. -
Any way to watch NE-Colts without NFLN?

Interesting. I didn't notice that as I rarely watch on the Yahoo app. But they only have a few games listed under "Live Game Schedule" so I assume tonights game will be available on that app. Lets see -

Don't do that to the hoodie. You may find some Goodell parts you wouldn't care to see. -
If the Bills re-sign Edmunds, they're stupid.

I have more than a sneaking suspicion about that. I think a young offensive mind will be good for the next OC. Someone similar to Byron Leftwich -

I don't want the Bills to treat the rest of the roster like Seattle and Green Bay have. yes, they each used their QBs to 1 SB win but should have done so much more with the talent at QB. Daboll is just extremely inconsistent. In the NE game, he barely called any designed runs for Allen. Against the Bucs, he called too many. Dude seems to need way too much managing (by McD) else his natural proclivities are disastrous -

On a related note, Romo was commenting about how strange the Bills' record is, given their D and O positions against the rest of the league. Our record is the opposite of a bad team getting into the playoffs due to some critical plays that go its' way. The proverbial ball (aided by officiating) has bounced the wrong way for the Bills. Don't get me wrong, the Bills have done their part as well but the team by itself and with Lady Luck are not in sync this season -
In history, eh?

I am at a loss to understand where you are going with this line of argument. First of all, I did not say, nor think that the NFL is rigged. What I do believe, and is obvious to most, is that officiating is very very inconsistent across games, but more importantly within the same game. This is a problem. Of course we as fans cannot directly do anything about it. But as with playcalling and player performance, fans tend to talk about things that influenced the outcome of the game. Thats what fans do, that is why this board exists and has thrived. But you are going on and on that fans should not blame the officials, when clearly they were a factor in the outcome yesterday.

Also see Harbaugh's decision last week against the Steelers. He could have gone for the FG at end of regulation to tie the game and try to win in OT but he makes this "gutsy/ballsy" call to go for two, the Ravens dont make it, game over. Sometimes it is better to play smart than go all in - the probability of making an XP is far more than a 2 pt conversion. -
Except that you are then beholden to that one player. OL upgrades are better for the long run. As examples, Singletary would be lot more effective if we had a stronger run blocking OL core. (assuming Dumb-oll would call those run plays) But, yesterday, Allen had more time in the second half. Did the adjustments include OL changes? I would like to see what was different between half 1 and half 2.

This thread is about yesterday's game and you decided to step in and express outrage over your perceived trend against the Bills. Yes, there are some games where the fans complain and point to those bad refs calls as the reason for the loss. But I would say this is not as regular as you are making it out to be Also, the Bucs did not outplay the Bills for much of the game. It was a game of 3 sections - the first was clearly dominated by the Bucs but the Bills held them to 3 more points and proceeded to tie the game. It is def a game where inconsistent officiating cost the Bills the game.

Calls such as PI should not be dependent on camera angles as much as spotting the ball on 4th-and-1. Missing calls such as the Diggs shirt pull is ridiculous and is not even subject to debate or requiring of the right camera angle. -
Does it then expose how easily Buffalo's current O can be neutralized?

I am not saying that we need a top 5 run game. With Allen at QB, we should not strive to be the Titans. But darn it, at least have a decent run game which averages ~ 3.9 YPC. I would love to have a Warrick Dunn+Alstott or Bettis for pounding it in in the RZ but those days are likely gone. Not asking for that at all. The run game under McBeane has sucked and Allen's run cannot be shown as a reason why we dont need RB based run game.
-
Yep. For the longest time, I have advocated (and I dont profess that this is a huge revelation) that any offense which leans too much in one direction can not be successful in the long run (heh). Sure, I realize that the game has evolved but teams without a semblance of a balanced attack will end their run somewhere in the playoffs before the Superbowl. Even the Chiefs realized the value of a running attack and protection as they drafted CEH in the first round (luxury pick for other teams) and revamped their OL. We will have to do the same this coming offseason - get a good RB (round 3 and lower is ideal but def not in round 1) and strengthen the interior of the OL
-
But, to ask the obvious, you do believe in a balanced attack, the credible threat of a run and actually mixing in a healthy (35-40%) of run plays, right? Nothing should be taken to the extreme either way. That's why I feel Tampa Bay is skewing too far towards the passing game right now and why I think they won't win it all this time.

I will want him cut the minute we have played the last game of this season. (Or, seriously, whenever his cap hit is least hurtful)
