  1. I dont know the answer if the balls are kept warm but my sense is that even if they are, they will get cold in a hurry. Temperatures in the teens can pull away heat very fast. And if the ball is thrown, the convective forces of the wind over the ball will also pull heat away quickly. Edit - Brady and Allen's balls have been clocked at 60+ mph (wow). So even if the wind is still, the air over this thrown ball is moving at 60+ mph .
  2. But the receivers and RBs also need to be prepared to handle a ball that is harder than normal with hands much colder than normal.
  3. Opening the door and stepping through it doesn't work any more?
  4. That's as good a non-answer as I have ever seen!
  5. The difference in level of competitiveness between the AFC and NFC WC games is stark. AFC has some tough teams and likely will result in fantastic games
  6. The depths a man will fall to, just to get some! 😄
  7. Looked like a designed run but the end couldnt have been scripted. If Allen could get the 1st down and OOB, he would keep it. But he instinctively realized Knox has a better chance to step OOB and shoveled the pass to him
  8. OP had said that he expects the team to win out and by double digits. He was right on both counts -the last 4 games were won by 17, 12, 14 and 17 points. Why are you seeking to undermine his post?
  9. That and The phantom pi in the EZ against the Chargers hurt them big time
  10. Sum of the seeds should be 9. Easier to remember that way
  11. We are up only 10-0. Going for it sounds cool but not at this point of the game in your own side if the field
  12. My WAG is Kellen Moore as HC, a bridge QB not named Rodgers and a draft pick QB.
  13. So have many of us here. 😀. Though, it seems like just yesterday that I was a student at UB, eating "breakfast" at this cheap little joint in Amherst listening to the greatest comeback game on the radio (it was blacked out on TV).
  14. If we are playing such a "what if" game, then the schedule would have been different, we may not have played the first game against the Pats** in that fluky windy weather and would have whopped their collective rears. In which case, we would be 10-5, they would be 9-6 and by winning this Sunday we would be division champs. Same outcome
  15. Marrone made a stupid decision to hire Hackett knowing full well that he didn't have an experienced QB. Then EJ himself turned out to be terrible which didn't help matters. The prudent thing to do would have been to hire an experienced OC and support a young QB. To compound matters, didn't Hackett try the no huddle when neither the QB , OL or receiving corps were proven? As for Hackett in GB, I am willing to give him the benefit of doubt and say that his experience post-Marrone supported by a great QB and good RBs has made the Packers offense potent
  16. I have dreamt for the longest time for the Bills to beat the Packers in a "small market" Superbowl
  17. Hackett was a rookie OC for an EJ Manuel offense. Recipe for disaster right out of the gates
  18. Considering his low sack % against the percent he faces pressure, it is more appropriately described as "going through his progressions"
  19. Agree on Diggs. The WR room will look different next year, imo. In all likeliness, Beasley and Sanders will be gone. We should pick up a (speedy) WR in rounds 1-3 and add a vet. Core for the forseeable future needs to consist of Diggs and Davis.
  20. Mayfield looked awful last night but the O play caller wasn't helping much . They needed to run more with Chubb and not have Mayfield throw so much. As it is , I haven't been impressed with his passing but the shoulder injury makes it worse. To the OP's questions, Ravens for sure will extend Jackson. Browns should push the decision to the following off-season and see what Mayfield can do when fully healthh
  21. His career has not been very good but an all round player with sure hands will be quite useful for the Bills. We need to get comfortable with such 1-2 year rental role players as we continue to be a post-season fixture. The overall team needs to be stacked with draft picks, key impact roles staffed via FA and 1-2 added every now and then for positions which are thin in the draft and FA. Besides, wasnt somebody "complaining" that we only have one 1st rounder on offense? Patterson can be the second 🙂
  22. Bucs played it well and turned it into a SB victory. But the time to draft the Brady replacement is in the upcoming draft. While Brady looks ageless. no human is. I would argue that Chubb and Ward aren't either. But the OP's point still stands. in retrospect, Colts would pick Allen over him
  23. Of the six teams (after Browns), I was most happy that Giants stupidly passed on a QB. This virtually guaranteed that Buffalo would get a top pick QB. Of course, at the time, I didnt know that the Bills wanted Allen or how good he would turn out to be That was not the question posed by the OP.
