Fans throw things at Diggs and Allen
Fan in Chicago replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nobody should throw things at any player. Whether it is your franchise QB or a PS player. Whether the player is on a winning or 1-16 franchise. -
Reggie Gilliam signs 2 yr, up to 5.2 mil extension
Fan in Chicago replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
He must have a different or enhanced role in a Dorsey offense for his contract to be extended early. Third TE spot between Howard and Sweeney will be interesting. Considering the lack of news on Howard through camp, my guess is that he is a goner -
Josh Allen is the best personality in the NFL
Fan in Chicago replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thats because of the media and parents' adulation of athletes, movie actors, singers etc. Imo, kids should be introduced to and taught about people closer to home and the community. Seek out family members who are upstanding citizens, have done extraordinary selfless things, have climbed up from tough situations. People in the community who do charitable work, serve the country. But its just easy to treat pictures on the screen as demi-gods. -

Excuse factory starting production ahead of the week 1 beat down -
Big Mac or Whopper meals never give me any heartburn or cause any digestive issues. But the health concerns cause me to eat them no more frequently than once a month. But boy do i savor and enjoy those 15 minutes!!

Rd 6 pick 185 (6): CB Christian Benford, Villanova
Fan in Chicago replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
OL my single concern for this season, more so than having speed at WR. Allen can make average receivers look good but not if he doesn't have time to pass. I can not even imagine the damage that Allen can do if he has more time back there - he can burn just about any defensive backfield in the NFL using Diggs , Davis , Knox as the core of pass catching group. I strongly feel we have more than adequate talent at every position group except OL. -

Clarification on Spencer Brown injury
Fan in Chicago replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
The issue on OL is not about having depth but that we dont have a handle on high quality starters. Brown is an important piece. If his back was bothering him last season then its commendable what he did as a rookie. Can we have a resident doc like @DrPJax to diagnose what little data we have on Brown? -
Week 2 of Camp - updates and talking points (OL??)
Fan in Chicago replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
That is a great story, football related or not. They make movies out of such emotional stories. Thanks for sharing @GunnerBill -
Going by memory here - yes, the OL wasnt great and much was masked by Allen's ability to step away from pressure, take off and complete passes while scrambling. But there were several games where the play calling wasnt doing any favors to the OL or to Allen. The pass-run ratio was too high and the passing plays were quite predictable. It seemed that Daboll came into games with a pre-determined plan and scripted plays but did not adjust in-game when that was not working. And we dont even know how many times Allen may have covered up for poor play calling. So, I disagree with the "overwhelmingly OLine related" comment.

Yep, agreed esp due to the uncertainty around the OL. The best we can expect is for Brown to be back fully healthy and Dawkins' personal problems behind him. Then we can at least field the best possible unit we can. Contrary to popular belief, the D may have to win a couple of the games in the first half of the season. Or again depend on magician Allen

The relative inattention to the QB position for BenR's successor is surprising for an organization as well run as the Steelers. As with any team privileged to have a long time franchise QB, the time to draft a potential replacement is a couple of years before the starter's projected decline. if the incumbent plays on for much longer than expected, trade the young gun. If the oldie's performance drops off too fast, you have already got a trainee.

Training Camp practice 7/30 - The pads come on
Fan in Chicago replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Edmunds looks like he can walk onto the sets of "Predator" without makeup. -
Except , at a couple of positions, it is not entirely clear who the starters will be so the backup roster is still to be decided
-
Rhule will name a starter based on TC and preseason. I doubt he sees the QB position as Darnold's job to lose. Based on what we have seen in the past seasons , we can guess Mayfield will win the job. But it will important to see if he can run McAdoo's offense.

Surely you know that sarcasm is quite different and less aggressive than shouting someone down or "Trying to convince everyone that there is no correlation". I don't claim it is not a concern but do believe that there are a few others which are more worthy of stressing over such as OG quality, OL depth , speed WR. My posts were not aggressive to evoke such a strong reaction from you

Excuse me?? Which part of any of my posts made you type this? I was expressing my point of view and yes, I choose to not be worried but I am not forcing you or anyone else to agree with me. Neither am I beating down you because you hold a different POV. This sort of response from you is ridiculous.

But he didn't really add any significant weight according to that post, correct? For an athlete that size it's fairly insignificant. It's more important how his workout regimen has been and if he has learned techniques to avoid stressing the muscles to the point of injury. Season is long for every player so besides the regular wear and tear a few pounds of weight isn't worth worrying about imo.

So all the discussion about Davis risking injury by getting bigger was for nought?

I didn't hear it but it could be one (?) of the following 1. McDonalds strategy: win the kids and the parents will come along 2. Catch them young and they will be lifelong fans 3. Allen is a nice guy

OT: Belichick says that Mac's improvement is "dramatic"
Fan in Chicago replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
With Jones ' dramatic improvement, Wilson getting thicc and Tua impressing, Allen should feel ashamed and scared. -
