Begs the question - why was Dorsey given the job in the first place? Lack of OL and WR were clearly limitations but I find it surprising that his inexperience is used as an excuse for the poor showing in the playoffs. While every season ticks by with yet another excuse, Allen gets one year closer to retirement

Rihanna-A boring halftime performance
Fan in Chicago replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
But when the mic was pulling away from her mouth, the vocals did not change. Which seemed like the vocals we were hearing throughout just came from the backing tracks. How much was she singing anyway? Also, to the latter point, it is a fall of music concerts to hear this. With all the movement, I could not sense any shortness of breath (particularly cos she is pregnant). Of course I am an oldie but these events are only performances and live singing is no longer an important component. (why the heck do people go to paid concerts then? Just sit at home and watch the video on Youtube with your own sound system) -
Reid should have gone for 2 point conversion. This is going to hurt

Why didn't Reid go for 2 point conversion???

I just became an unpopular dad for saying she was majority lip synching. This follows my admitted cluelessness when I asked " is this the hips don't lie" girl?

Stefon Diggs - “I watched the game five times”
Fan in Chicago replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
For all the talk of "Process", we should have more than 1 leader in the locker room. Also, not sure about the dynamics in the locker room, but by now, I would have expected Allen to be one. -
Good for Daboll. Congrats to him.

Frazier: The hard FACTS on why many of us want a change.
Fan in Chicago replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have been on Frazier's case for at least the last two years but you do bring up an interesting point regarding the root cause of the problems on D. My any measure, the FO has spent enormous draft capital on the D which is most likely due to the emphasis by McD. Inattention to the O side (OL and WR) has clearly resulted in "wasting" the efforts of Allen and Diggs. I am at a loss regarding the solution to this situation. If McD is the center of the FO's universe, we cannot expect to get over this hump as I have no confidence that the 2023 draft will bring in O talent. Beane cannot fire Frazier as it is McD's job. McD wont fire Frazier as he doesn't see the D failures the same way @Alphadawg7articulated. Beane can't force McD to make changes, per your take. And I am not in favor of a wholesale house cleaning as it can have unintented consequences. Unpopular opinion, but Whaley took a lot of flak for poor draft picks and inadequate team building. But save for a fanatastic QB, who is masking way too many problems than we care to admit, how is this team different than the ones Whaley built? Same end results of being cap constrained due to few bad contracts, splash signing of an expensive FA (Mario Williams <--> Von Miller), inattention to the OL, drafting too many DBs/RBs.... I really would hate it if Beane went into the draft with McD chirping in his ear that "we perform poorly in playoffs on D because we dont have sufficient talent". Enough of this cr** - spend 3 of the top 5 picks on O, including the first rounder. If we are going to continue with Frazier, at least give Allen the protection and the weapons to cover for Frazier/McD's ineffectiveness on D in the big games. -
How did the Patriots maintain a top team for 17 years?
Fan in Chicago replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Besides the obvious reason of Brady, the Pats also had elite players on defense and a good OL. Also, BB's teams are very disciplined and held their nerve in pressure situations. Think about how many times opposing teams threw away their chances in close games with untimely fumbles, interceptions or poor coaching decisions. BB managed games very well. I contend that if BB was the Bills' coach instead of McD, we would have at least one ring by now (with Allen ofc). -
Again?

Reading this article, contractually it will be tough for the Broncos to walk away before early in 2024 https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-denver-broncos-russell-wilson-contract-breakdown Maybe Payton rides with Wilson for one year to see if his skills are truly gone. He must have had this talk with the Denver FO before taking on the job. Payton has too much ego to walk into a situation where he cannot win for the next 2-3 years. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he has some plan to respectability for the Broncos in 2023.

Yes! That is why the 2022 draft was so underwhelming - due to the inattention to the OL and a weak attempt at bolstering WR. The other issue is that McD doesnt seem to trust rookies even if they are drafted high and play a position which is expected to contribute right away. I am currently quite pessimistic about next season (not due to the recency effect) but I dont trust Beane to make the right investments and it also appears that they will keep Frazier.

Bills Coaching Staff Changes Thread
Fan in Chicago replied to hellofellowbillsfans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, for the reasons you well articulated below that question. This year was the one to prove that 13 seconds was a fluke or a mistake by one player (Wallace). It didnt turn out this way. Cant keep trying the same D schemes and coaches hoping for a different result. -
Why isn't Frazier interviewing for Head Coaching positions?

Bill Parcells says Josh Allen needs help
Fan in Chicago replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would really like him expanding on the "they need a lot of work on defense". Does he mean that the individual personnel need to be different? --> implies Beane and McD have done a poor job of stocking the cupboard Does he mean that the personnel type is not fully suited for the defense that McD wants to run? --> Again, a failure of Beane Or that the coordinator is in over his head? --> HoofHearted, who knows X's and O's far better than I seems to think Frazier is fine. I, for one, think that repeatedly failing in critical games cannot just be on the personnel. Ultimately, the DC has the responsibility to scheme up/down to the personnel, opposing O and in-game situations. Failing twice in a row on the playoffs cannot and should not be blamed on poor players. Would be very very interesting for Parcells or a respected coach to weigh in. -
Two possibilities: - Beane and McD are still evaluating the season and eventually conclude that Frazier should be back --> no further action required by Beane - They decide to change DCs --> Timing becomes important here as teams with vacancies start filling out their coaching team. I for one do not want a rookie DC, no matter how bright he/she is seen to be. We need experienced hands at the controls When is the last date for his contract? I couldnt find it with a Google search (Note that I personally don't believe McD will fire Frazier without resigning himself)
-
This team needs experienced coordinators. With the still (cracked) open window of opportunity, we can't take risks on up and coming coordinators. They could turn out to be disasters like Hackett. For the D, i would look for a good past DC who was a poor HC. (Example Dan Quinn)

Panthers request to interview Dorsey for HC
Fan in Chicago replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Any updates on this?🙃 -
You do not want owners meddling in football matters. As owner, the Pegulas of course have to ask for the status, accountabilities and plans to fix but they should not be doing the micro management. If they dont trust Beane to make the right decisions (not saying they dont), then they should just go ahead and fire him. By the same token, if Beane wans Frazier gone, he should not go over McD's head and do it himself. Not that he cannot, but he shouldn't. Follow the chain of command, let the responsible people do their jobs.

Aaron Rodgers to the Jets for 2 first round picks?
Fan in Chicago replied to Lost's topic in The Stadium Wall
in a sado masochistic way, I do too. The more the AFCE gets better, the more pressured Beane will be to improve the offensive personnel -
Well that was ... underwhelming to say the least, depressing to say more. All that was left was for him to say "winning is hard in the NFL" After 13 seconds, the fans had hope going into this season. This will not be the case if he walks it (players, coaches) back next season
