  1. Thanks. I will pm you when I have such questions. Some primer on the terminology would be great. Savvy watchers like you, Gunner, Simon, Badol, Bocephuz can diagnose individual players and plays so much faster in real time!
  2. Reading this just made me feel football illiterate 😔
  3. As long as the other 10-15% ain't in the post season 🤔
  4. Goood pass protection today.
  5. good job spreadng the ball arund
  6. I think Dorsey reads this board. lol. We were Asking for Murray to get the ball
  7. You alluded to the fire within Allen and it bears mentioning that prior to GB game, he would continue to play well after interceptions and will the team to a win. There was a drive within him which you could see in his eyes and body language. So, perhaps statistically the turnovers are not significantly different . But the rest of his game is not making up for them.
  8. Agree word for word. I am done with this "coaching is the only thing holding us back". It did in the 13 second game but not since the GB game last year.
  9. Which could be true right now as well. Do we really know how hard Dorsey is trying to put schemes in around Allen's limitations? And how often JA goes off script to destroy those plans? What's frustrating to me is that many respected posters think that he will always need a guy to manage Allen's tendencies. How many successful QBs in the NFL have needed such constant guidance counselling and baby sitting ? If he needs more years psychologically to develop and needs a strong voice around him all the time, we have a major problem. In high stress situations, such as playoffs and Superbowl, that QB will be out there on the field. You cannot hope that he won't go off the deep end and shut off all calming voices. Josh has to own his own development, he has to accept he has a major problem and commit to long term change. It will be hard but if he wants to earn his high paycheck and achieve what he is capable off, there is no other choice. I have equated this problem to an addiction - success only comes when the addict accepts the issue, gets help and makes the hard changes. Such success doesn't happen by always having a baby sitter to keep the person from relapsing
  10. He is coachable but his stubbornness is like an addiction - you can't trust him with it without constant over -sight and positive reinforcement. Dude is like a petulant child who constantly needs parenting
  11. You do know the half time score against the Jets, don't you?
  12. Your post is a hopeful scenario and I truly hope it does come true. However, I am having a tough time identifying the source of the issue. I am not convinced it is his lack of trust in the OL. He has a tendency to not trust anyone except himself and Diggs. This in itself is troubling. But besides that, I very much worry there is some deep psychological or personal life issues going on which are causing him to not focus and prepare for games. I am very worried about the kid. Lets say I am wrong about this and your scenario plays out, how long will good Josh be playing that way? When will he regress again into bad Josh? Opposing DCs clearly have the easy button to trigger the latter to reappear - like with an alcoholic.
  13. Allen was mentioned in the same breath as Burrow and Mahomes. Mahomess team lost narrowly and he was decent for the game. Burrow was not good at all but he could differentiate between uniform colors even though the Browns' colors are in the same family as Bengals. Allen couldnt tell the difference between Blue and Green
  14. As goes Josh, so does the team. I expect Allen will reduce the number of errors per game and we will stumble and bumble into the playoffs where he will get exposed yet again. In a weird way, I would rather have a bad loss in the playoffs than in the Superbowl. I have zero confidence in good Josh showing up on Superbowl game day.
  15. Is Matt Barkley QB coach material? The dynamics between Allen and him in the past should give an indication if Barkley can be more helpful than Joe Brady. We cannot change the OC just yet and Allen is the bigger issue. If we can somehow start small, replace the QB coach, Allen may turn the corner. Won't be immediate but that's okay as long as we can squeak into the playoffs
  16. Yes, he was playing good football in the first half. We had a decent sized lead at the half. Even Peyton Manning implied that the game was out of hand for the Jets. Little did he nor anyone expect the second half debacle by Allen. If he kept playing like in the first half, this would be a near blowout in our favor
  17. That's the over arching worry. Say Allen is "QB whispered" to the Superbowl. The opposing DC just has to open these multiple pages since last year to force Allen into the turnover machine.
  18. Which option is paying you $50 mm per year with hopes of more if you do more of? Which gives you more adulation and positive press? Which option provides hope to be remembered as a sports great? And pleasure that lasts more than a few minutes?
  19. I know I am particularly harsh on him today but that was not just because of yesterday's game. It has been a trend since the GB game last year - bad decisions, showing no fire on the sidelines, stubbornness with playing style and lack of trust in your surrounding cast. He has lost the essence of why he endeared himself to us fans since he came into the league - the drive to improve and fix his own problems. I worry he is trending towards athletes in other sports such as tennis - Capriati, sabatini who gained much early success only to never build on it.
  20. I disagree with you on this point. There were three possible options and outcomes (once he started running) 1. See two defenders will ahead of the marker and decide to protect your body 2. (What he did) Try to hurdle two defenders and be stopped short 3. Try to hurdle and get hurt None of the options gets you a first down. Take #1 and live to fight in another possession
  21. Purely my opinion but I think if Dorsey calls too many runing plays by RBs, Allen will simply change the play at the line of scrimmage. He just cannot help running it himself or looking for deep shots. If they aren't there, dont take it! At this point, I am convinced his stubbornness and boneheaded decision making in the moment is holding this team back.
  22. "We have always had"? He was improving since he was drafted, he was putting in the effort to improve, played like he had a chip on his shoulder., Lifting the O and the team around him. Then it changed. It wasn't always like that.
  23. Let's agree to disagree. If Allen and the O played the second half like the first, we win. By at least 10.
  24. I know it's open season on Allen today but that is going too far.
