Like wow. Harrison signs 66 million extension
Fan in Chicago replied to nodnarb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You fell for my hook - he built the superbowl VISITING Bills and that is my point. In the final analysis, Polian has not done anything more or less than TD except visited a few more SB's. I do share one of your thought - we want to win a SB and nothing less will do. Given that, Polian has not done that so TD is in no way half the GM that Polian is. -

Not entirely sure about that. Has Polian won any superbowls yet ? It doesn't help to make your team good enough to storm into the playoffs and lose. I agree that getting to the playoffs is something we wish we could. But mind you - TD did get the Steelers to the playoffs also. Polian is good but don't proclaim that he is any less or more than what TD is. I remember you ranting that Butler put us in cap hell and cursed him no end for that. So what makes you a Polian fan ? -
Fair enough - that is why so much of audio and video is about personal preferences and budget. Any other advantages you see of LCD over DLP ? How much did you pay for your pj ? I know we can't post prices on AVS so am just curious.

make that Videophiles, audiophiles and almost anything home theater or satellite TV related....

rainbows are literally in the eyes of the beholder. I don't see any on my DLP pj - the Infocus SP4805. Most on AVS say that they do not with this pj. If you are serious about it, don't base it on anybody else's advice and check it out for yourself. Another 'problem' with pj is the screen door effect which also is not noticeable with my pj at 2x viewing distance.

yes I do - PM me your e-mail and you got it.

I have 6 invites so if anyone missed A**quathc's offer, PM me (with an e-mail address)

Agree with all you said - I have an Infocus Screenplay 4805 in my newly finished basement since 6 weeks back and have totally forgotten how a movie looks on that puny little TV set. I also did a bunch of research on the various sub-forums on AVS and bought the pj, receiver etc. If you need any help, let me know.

If you like Mitsu, stay with it. Check out reliability and repair records before you buy. As Fez suggests, do research on avsforum and it may open your eyes to other possibilities. One piece of advice - why are you set on rectangular ? For movie watching, 16:9 is the way to go. Unless you don't plan on using it to watch movies.... About projection TV - I saw this at a friend's place and the viewing cone sucks big time. He had it at eye level if you are sitting down on one of his two sofas. But if you stand up or wander away from that sofa position, the picture deteriorated RAPIDLY. Please keep that in mind.

Fez, Cool ! Great to find another avsforum fan here.

(OT)Anyone know where i can find 6 ohm speakers
Fan in Chicago replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Okay, I did the searching for you and got this answer. Seems simple enough as 8 ohms are easy to find. Don't go 4 ohm though: Author Thread ---> Show Printable Version | Email this Page | Subscribe to this thread 11-04-04 06:20 PM foogles New Member Registered: Nov 2004 Location: Posts: 1 6ohm receiver with 8 ohm speakers Kind of a reversal of the normal question I find here. I'm fairly new to speakers so this may be a dumb question. Is there any issue with using 8ohm speakers with a receiver that is rated at 6 ohms? Thanks. 11-04-04 08:17 PM graphicguy AVS Special Member Registered: Jun 2002 Location: Ohio Valley Posts: 1049 Nope....no problems. If an AVR can drive 6 OHM speakers, it should drive 8 OHMs quite well. __________________ Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty but the pigs actually like it. POST #2 | -

I got a better suggestion - go to http://www.avsforum.com and click on the Audio--> Speaker section. Before registering and posting, you can search the sub-forum for something like '6 ohm' and see what you get. If you get no answer, I suggest registering and posting a question. You should get a resposne within 24 hours. Advantage - you get no commercial solicitations or biased advice. It is all geeks so you get the correct advice. If you need any more help, PM me. -
How do you spell Gregg Williams?

People say ICE obsesses about Drew
Fan in Chicago replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For me it is like listening to 'Stairway to heaven'. It has been played on FM so often that a once classic and entertaining song is now 'boring'. Ooops.. I just compared Ice's posts to Stairway ! sacrilege but you get my point. -
ICE will probably get the last laugh
Fan in Chicago replied to Frez's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder if this is still true after the way we played the last 3 games. I would like to see one of the next three teams try to 'blitz the hell out of DB' and see the results. Granted these teams have weaker defenses than NE or Pitt. There just may be a possibility that the ability to pick up blitzes is better now than prior to the NE game. If this is true, the Steelers will be burnt badly. Let us see how this plays out. At a minimum, the season is interesting once more. My suspicion is that if we go get into the playoffs, our momentum will be strong enough to run over the opponent in the wildcard game. Yes, I actually said we will win the WC game if we get there. That is ofcourse a mighty big IF. -

his right what ? In addition to having no spelling skills, you don't even have the knowledge or guts to register. Oh yes, your* logic sucks also. * the correct use of 'your' -
maybe he is pandering to this board. Seeing the reaction here, made him doubt himself ?{wishful thinking}

Yes, but this time he has picked the Bills and Golic (who ?) has picked the fins. So what is the point of your post ?

How about some Praise for McNally?
Fan in Chicago replied to mtdoak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not to start another DB bashing spree, but I can imagine how much better we would be if we had a mobile QB in there for ther first 6 games. If we had one 1-2 more wins, we would be in the thick of things as opposed to being mathematically in the race for the playoffs. -
I am not an expert and Fezmid's answer is probably all you need.' But, for future audio-video questions, visit http://www.avsforum.com . It is a fantastic site for all sorts of discussions regarding anything AV. You get a good discussion leading to an answer in less than a day. The best part is, there is no commercial connection of this site so all the people are there for the love of the science.

My only complaint of TD's tenure has been the hiring of GW and KGilbride. Overall, given the trade-offs, I have been happy having him managing our team, personnel and salary cap situation. -
Prediction for Moulds in Miami game
Fan in Chicago replied to Fan in Chicago's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The pass defense stat surprised me. Whatever the reasons, maybe we do need to pound it more than we have recently. More than any other game, getting some early scores will help keep the crowd quiet and Feeley on his heels. I still think we will surprise them by throwing early and then changing to the run game. -
I just looked up Moulds stats from the last 3.5 years against Miami Rec Yards TD 2001 6 196 2 6 82 0 2002 3 81 1 5 130 1 2003 2 30 0 3 20 0 2004 5 99 0 Except for last year, he seems to have faired very well against the fins. I am willing to bet that he has a big day this weekend as their secondary is not as strong as their run defense. I predict > 100 yards receiving w/2 TDs. Miami will be gearing up to defend WM and give a bit on their pass defense. What do you guys think ?

2 interim coaches in 2 weeks
Fan in Chicago replied to Corp000085's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes we should always be nervous but the players should be even more so and not look beyond any opponent. Now our game plan should have shifted from proving we can win to trying for the playoffs. every game counts (cliche ofcourse).
