Beating the Rams and Raiders was no small feat considering the enthusiasm they played with against us. In the chat room, I started the top five reasons the Bills won and they are something like: (1) SD is a West coast team traveling to an East coast time zone (2) Chargers were without a Chambers (3) They were having a letdown after a big game last week/ looking forward to London/ ware in a trap game (4) Their defense is not at full strength without Merriman (5) The power outage in addition to the above four items played havoc with their play calling ability Any I missed ?

I doubt the Bills did (1) in good faith. I am just surprised that McCargo, the docs and the coaches did not explore the possibility that a medical problem may be preventing him from playing all out. It very well might be that his internal drive is not strong enough. But, wouldn't there be pain due to this medical condition ? And wouldn't McCargo want to find out what it is about ? Forget that he is a professional sports player. Heck, if I had a nagging pain, I would have it checked out. What gives ?

Curious timing of your post. This past weekend I was talking to a friend from England and he asked me 'Do you think that despite all the pre-poll rhetoric, that when they are standing in the voting booth, Americans will actually cast a vote in favor of an African-American ?'. I had no answer. His was NOT a loaded question and he was honestly asking if I have a feel for this stuff and I don't.

Despite BB's apparent genius as a DC, his HC credentials are slave to his possession of superlative talent. I think the OP's point still stands. When the Pats* were winning, BB was made out to be a demi-God of a coach. What is becoming apparent that he is an above-average coach of a team which dominated 'cos of the talented players.

We don't ? There have been many threads started here where we are ranked in the top 5-8 of the league. Edwards is touted by many talking heads as an up-and-comer, 'Brady-calm' etc. I think the respect has started and will border ball-washing once we beat SD.

Yeah and if E Manning goes down or Romo gets suspended, both their teams will take a rapid fall. Hypothetically, anything can happen over the remaining 13 games. As of now, with the games that have already been played and with the record as it is, your assessment of those three teams being better than Buffalo is wrong.

Steelers = suspect O-Line Colts = looking mighty vulnerable on all fronts Patriots* = aging ex-stars on D, suspect QB, fading Moss Not to say, we have better records than all three. Want to re-consider or obstinately want to stick to your first statement ?

I don't want any one to get injured but even less so if that injury is induced by our D through no fault of theirs (fragile QB, porous OL of the Rams).

Mooch gave us props after our Jax win also. Something to the effect of "there is something special in Buffalo. They have a good HC surrounded by other good coaches and they are building something over there ..."

And my take is that panicking in a short-term window, getting too scared of this 'collapse of the financial institutions', pumping money into these sectors and then professing future regulation is a recipe for disaster eventually. I still stick to my point of view (since the Bear Stearns crisis) that these failed institutions should crash and burn. Let whatever pain follows, come through. We will be a much more prudent society after we claw back up again.

That would be me. While I am ecstatic about his development in general and his fair weather performances in particular, his performance should not fall off a cliff in inclement weather. We will have plenty of opportunities this year to see if he has progressed in that department compared to last year. I am praying he has ... It is fine to give him a pass for yesterdays sub-par quarters as he really wasn't getting any help.

Which begs the question - how long before Moss starts throwing hissy fits....
