  1. Nope. Wait till draft day and watch the board explode if we take another 1st round DB.
  2. Nice to see you come by. Sit tight ? For 48 hours ?? We are judge, jury and executioners at internet speed. Though, till now, Lynch looks to be trying sincerely to make our job so much easier.
  3. I like the fact that we are taking care of our own (Jenkins, DiGiorgio). If Crowell is expected to be back to full strength, we should sign him too and we should be set at the LB position. Mitchell-Poz-Crowell starters, Ellison & DiGi as backups.
  4. Perhaps true but Lynch is certainly doing his part by giving them plenty of fodder.
  5. I think we are better off re-signing Greer. As a side note, looks like the Broncos are preparing to go on a shopping spree.
  6. I am not sure what the league rules are. But I sure don't like what I am seeing as a pattern of flirting with the law. Much as I like his play on the field, that is not enough reason to find excuses for his behavior and start questioning the law of the land. He should get a fair hearing and if guilty, should be punished. I have been fairly disheartened by the general direction this franchise has been headed lately and this incident further adds to the gloom. Whether it is the coaching, the drafting, team building or anything else related to creating a winning franchise, we seem to be taking mis-steps everywhere.
  7. I have to wonder if NE* isn't playing a game here. Are they seriously intending to keep two high priced QBs in the roster (at least for this year) ? I think they are trying to see if they can indeed get the 2 first rounders in which case they still have Brady. If nobody wants to trade for Cassel, do the Pats* then turn around and try to trade Brady instead ? My guess is that they won't mind either outcome. I am pretty sure someone will offer at least a first rounder for Brady.
  8. Talent ? If we have enough talent on this team, Edwards will hopefully be enough for us to win a few games. Daunte's body and head look to be too scrambled for him to make any respectable NFL return. In fact, I would be seriously pi$$ed if we got him.
  9. "I think he'd be the solid backup QB we are looking for". You should have stopped right there. Did you even think before writing the rest of your post ?
  10. Lets see, old coach and old QB for Buffalo .... Can ? Sure. Will ? No confidence in it happening
  11. Yeah, sure. As others have stated, I will believe it after opening day of the season. In any case, this forces the Jets to address their QB situation for the long run. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the direction Ryan wanted to go anyway and poor ole Brett felt unwanted.
  12. Mr. Brandon, is that you ?
  13. I happen to agree with your thread's title that the coaches are untalented. My guesses at FA pickups: Vernon Carey, C Tank Johnson, DL
  14. I haven't seen him play enough to make an opinion.
  15. But they do in TV programs and movies.
  16. The overturn on the first field call of a fumble was correct. I also think that the second time, his hand was not cocked back in an attempt to pass and even though his hand was forward it was not after an attempt to pass. Hence the fumble was the right call. From the replays I did not see the field call to be ambiguous enough to warrant a booth review. I realize it was a big game, critical drive but the play should be questionable enough for the booth officials to intervene. Just because the Cards were trailing should not be automatically be a reason to review the play 'just to be sure'. There is a balance between ensuring good officiating and allowing the flow of a game - the officials made the right call on the field and the decision to let it stand.
  17. So in effect you are saying that the LG position was better in 2007 than in 2008 when Peters played like an elite LT ? Why did he suddenly have to 'make up' for the LG in 2008 ?
  18. What I mean is that his holding out was wrong on multiple fronts. Not only did he send a wrong message about him being a me-first guy but missed an opportunity to start the O-Line gelling process in the offseason (as they were under a new OC). missing the early games and then taking time to get 'up to speed'. Even after that he was good but not near his 2007 level. Which means that in one way or the other, he hurt the team throughout the season. He was certainly not a strong piece of the O Line and hence did not solidify the LT position for the Bills this season. We now have a question mark - which player is he ? the 2007 potential great or the 2008 average LT ? Did his injury bother him or was he not motivated to play up to his potential ? I don't have enough evidence to say one way or the other. But I am hypocritical enough to give him the benefit of doubt and lobby the Bills to pay the man (at least he is a known devil).
  19. fair enough that you do not agree and I think most people will not. I just thought it was the flip of a coach trusting his D to stop an opposing offense. This would be a gamble to allow the O 3 or 4 chances to get into the EZ and seal the game.
  20. I have never played Madden.
  21. I grant you that he has been a team player till the holdout. But it was not just the holdout but his mediocre play after his return that bothers me. If he decided to end his hold out, he should have given his all in solidifying his position but came up small. I hold that against him big time. To return to the original topic, Gandy made big critical mistakes which arguably were some of the major reasons Arizona lost. I think Peters is much better than him but has to prove himself to be a total team player and also be able to handle the likes of Harrison. Then he will be truly elite.
  22. Not to take away from the spirit of this thread - but I have a debatable point to make. I think Fitz should have knelt down at the 1 yard line during his touchdown catch and run. There were under 3 minutes left in the game and that would have allowed Zona three tries at the EZ and chewed up a lot of clock time. I know most of you will say that they were trailing and it was a no brainer to take the 6 but I think it was a gamble worth taking. Giving the O the challenge to score the TD and in the process not allowing enough time for Pitts to have an opportunity to score would have been gutsy. As for the OP - I also agree that Fitz is one hell of a WR and Holmes just happened to be on the winning side of the ball (albeit being on of the reasons for being so)
  23. I don't agree with that perception. Yes TD blew that pick badly. However, if MW had panned out, we would have been better on O but it would not have spelled the difference between the sorry record we had compared to being a playoff team. In its entirety, his mistakes were picking MW, picking McGahee when we had other pressing needs, picking bad HCs and not retaining Lebeau.
