  1. One way the situation can play itself out for both sides to 'save face': Peters & the Bills come to an agreement in the next 2 days but keep it under wraps In the Seahawks game, the Bills are ahead by a large margin and Walker fakes an injury. Peters then calls up the Bills and offers to 'take one for the team' and report for work Peters starts playing and viola a contract is announced a few days later. Both sides come out smelling like roses.
  2. More disrespect from the media. Vinnie is nothing but a media hack ...... o wait ...... never mind. Great article. Seriously, this is one of those 'should win' games that I hope we don't manage to lose by playing it too close.
  3. Good post, Bill ! I agree. Now let us go and kick some Hawk- a$$ !!!!
  4. I disagree. If family its off limits, it is off limits. You cannot use it according to your convenience. It is hypocritical to say otherwise. I am ready to let it go if the campaigns (and I make no distinction) stick to one line. Here is an article that explains in length what my reaction yesterday was: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/cvn_measure_of_...family_politics And that is the last I am going to say on this topic in this thread.
  5. My fault, I read it wrong. Sorry.
  6. I take the opposite view. It is no wonder he did not win the nomination. He is as neo-con, extreme right and pre-emptive striker as it comes. That speech by him drove me nuts about how divisive it sounded in its wording. He pumped up mcCain's credentials well but the other stuff was just too vitriolic.
  7. Besides the Palin speech tonight which brought "one member who is serving, one who will be joining on Sept. 11", "my husband who is a snowmobile champ, has eskimo heritage", "my parents" and on and on. So she can bring her family when she perceives it portrays her as a strong family. But others cannot bring up the issues about her pregnant daughter ? I am strongly against bringing family to smear a candidate but it works both ways - don't bring them in to bolster your position either. I hated Guiliani's divisive speach and Palin's tough talk based on flimsy credentials.
  8. That's the line I was keying off of and paraphrasing a bit ...
  9. What part of 'Favre makes any team instant playoff contenders' don't you understand ?
  10. About time somebody turned this car around
  11. First games of the season are really tough to predict as we never know how the off-season changes are going to pan out especially our run defense. After that wimpy disclaimer, here is my guess at how the game will unfold: Seattle will try to run, run and run some more. If we win that battle in the first half, we will dictate terms in the second as our secondary is much better than their crop of receivers. If we do not win that battle, pressure will be on the O to keep the Seattle O off the field. On O, if pre-season is any indication, we should be vastly improved on the play calling but will be limited by how many plays we can execute successfully. Trent will be pressured a lot and Lynch+ Parrish will have their work cut out for them. Having said that, I think our O wins that battle despite the absence of the Holy Peters. Perhaps we will start seeing that life without Peters is not too bad after all. All in all, it will be a close game and we will win it 20-17
  12. And the reverse of that statement is true for McCargo.
  13. http://buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=6505 Nice going Kyle, especially being a 5th rounder.
  14. Heartening to see that Bell can send a text ...
  15. This is the second time you have said this in separate threads. 'Debunked' implies there is definitive proof of that statement. Where, pray, did you see any evidence to make such a statement ? It is clear what your position on the Peters issue is, but you are inventing facts here.
  16. Just in time to prepare for and play in the first game. Damn, those Cowboys are lucky.
  17. Reading comprehension ! He is recommending Bose to cover up the holes only, not to use as outlets for sound. Seriously, to the OP, is your decision to go in-walls purely based on the need to cover up the holes ? You might want to patch the holes and go with towers for the front, bookshelfs for the rear and a good subwoofer. Some research on AVS forum will do you a lot of good. If you decide to stay with the in-walls, try these (have a 30-day money back guarantee): HTD in-walls
  18. If I am at a 4-way stop sign with single lanes all around and am unsure of who got there a fraction of a second earlier, i tend to wave the other car on. I am just being courteous. Would you see it a different way ?
  19. Wow, what a coincidence. Your 2 are close to mine: - People engaging in non-stop conversations while on cardio machines. At my small gym, there are three particular two-somes who specialize in this. The come to the gym together, get on adjacent machines and yap away while working out at 3 miles/hr for 30 minutes. Then each follows the other around the gyum continuing their endless convo. Of the three groups, two are female only and one is male only. And a friend told me to 'crank up your mp3 player' so I can't hear them. - People not wiping down machines after they are done. No matter whether or not you sweat, wipe when you are done. Now I am in the habit of wiping before and after I get on any machine - People not indicating before a turn or lane change
  20. They aren't: Refinery Utilization See the line " Percent Operable Utilization"
  21. So we should reward players under contract for reporting to camp ?
  22. Nice call. I didn't see this posted elsewhere so thought of inserting the news into this thread. Alex Smith is done as a 49er. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-4...p&type=lgns
  23. Any reason to think otherwise ?
  24. If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice ... So I decided to do nothing. The onus is on Peters and his agent.
