I hate to give this tool any publicity...
Fan in Chicago replied to RayFinkle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, we really haven't been a good football team over the past few years. This year, the team looked significantly improved in the first game, but it still was only one game. We have to earn the respect of the league (which we did for past week's performance). I bet if we win against the Jags, and convincingly, you will see the media start singing a different tune. On paper, the only challenge appears to be the predicted hot and humid conditions in Jax. I think we still have enough talent, and rotational depth on D, to pull off a victory. -
Jauron may be having him practice a lot either to check him out or to get him prepared for Sunday. My guess is the latter. In any case, if he indeed is 85% back, he will be even better by Sunday. And, no offense to Chambers or Walker, but that is good enough for me to have him start. My wag is that he plays.

Bizarre story about Vince Young
Fan in Chicago replied to bills44's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No problem. In a way, I feel bad about this situation. I really hope he pulls his life together. He was entertaining to watch and it is always good to have good QBs in the leagure - makes games more challenging and fun to win. -
Bizarre story about Vince Young
Fan in Chicago replied to bills44's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First of all, I wrote one sentence poorly. What I meant was " his conduct was reported widely on news, blogs etc.". Secondly, I am in no way criticizing Young for attempting to have some time to himself. I was rationalizing about how his family and coach could have panicked into calling the cops. He could simply have told someone he needs to be alone for a while and taken his switched off cell phone with him. Heck, even without the pressure of a public life, I love to have a couple of hours to myself in a coffee shop with no phone ringing or anybody bothering me. -
Bizarre story about Vince Young
Fan in Chicago replied to bills44's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Certainly not a crime. It is not the incident itself but the sequence that was worrisome. He showed signs of a mental breakdown on the field, gets booed by the crowd, gets injured and then has his conduct on news, blogs etc. If he disappears after that me, as a family member, would be definitely worried. -

"Yeah you smacked me around the last couple of times, yeah I am weaker now than before, I have crutches and you are going to trample me again. But that WWF guy sure beat you the last time around. Who is the tough guy now ? Huh ? Huh ?" -

Aliens abducted him, concluded that we are a mentally undeveloped race, dumped him and took off. -
4 DEs? We rushed 4 DEs against Seattle
Fan in Chicago replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Does that fact alone make him a rookie ? He has been around long enough, seen enough and played some to not be called a rookie. -

Who is this tool announcing the Oakland/Denver game?
Fan in Chicago replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't know who Mike Greenberg was till today. But his nasally tone and moronic blathering wil make sure I don't forget. After Denver is up 17-0 "The raiders have to put some points up on the board before the half" -
Peter King MMQB
Fan in Chicago replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fair comment regarding our D however, on the flip side, they were adequately staffed on their D and our once-putrid offense still did well. Back to OP - proves we have to earn the respect of everyone around the league and once we perform, accolades follow. -
Could Peters hold out cost him his starting job?
Fan in Chicago replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I find it ironic that you are arguing in a positive way about two good starter-caliber linemen and ... both of them were not drafted in the early rounds. -
Plus Stroud will be fired up - if that is even a word to use for him after today's game. If our O and ST continue to play just more than adequately, I see this as another win for us. Make no mistake, it was a pretty good Seattle D we faced and we (man) handled them fairly well.

I don't expect Peters next week. You?

20-17 Bills win -
Do explain what the joke was. I thought she was quoting it as an example of how she eliminated wasteful spending. INitially the plane was used to transport prisoners to a jail but gradually began being used by Murkowski more. Eventually the prisoners started being transported by commercial airlines, saving a bunch of money per flight (a good thing ofcourse). She could have stated that outcome rather that attempting to come across as one who did a great favor by putting it on ebay. Estimates of the loss on the eventual sale to a private party range from $300K to $600K.

Peters will report Saturday
Fan in Chicago replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. If the Bills are true to their word, Evans should get a deal first. As I have stated in another thread if he agrees to a Burress level deal of 5 yr/$35 million, it will be great. What shape Peters is in, how quickly he gets into game shape, picks up the offense and performs will go a lot to tell us how good a football player he really is beyond his natural talents. Talent means nothing without effort and dedication. For the good of the team and this season, I am sure we are all very curious to find out answers to that. We just need to atleast scrape by Seattle for now and forget about Peters for the next 2 days. -
Either way, I like Todd Palin
Fan in Chicago replied to YellowLinesandArmadillos's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Especially after McCain's chest thumping last night about 'taking on the unions'. -
If Evans took a similar deal with us, I will be ecstatic.

I agree with what you are saying - McCargo should not be jettisoned just yet as he hasn't had a good enough chance to prove himself. Nonetheless, if this rumour indeed becomes reality, the FO better have a decent plan and player for the DT rotation. Given our D's penchant for injuries, I do NOT want to replace a DT with a LB and be suddenly thin on the front line of a run D.

If we're in recession ..
Fan in Chicago replied to truth on hold's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The most quoted definition of recession is two consecutive quarters or negative GDP. This is not exact but is applicable for a large majority of recessions. However, the latest economic data shows that the economy actually grew in the second quarter which followed a minor expansion in the first Q: http://www.bea.gov/newsreleases/national/g...newsrelease.htm To state the obvious, even if GDP were to shrink in the next, we will have been done with the election part way through the fourth Q. So while we may whine about the economic situation in general, we are not technically in a recession yet and all indications are we dodged it this time around. -
