  1. While I don't particularly enjoy re-hashing the same discussion over and over again, the question raised by the OP is legitimate and should be on several people's mind. First of all, this may be his make or break year. Eli Manning blossomed in his 4th year but I don't believe we have that luxury. The reason is that we have beefed up our lines in this year's draft and do not expect them to be dominating this year. So next year will be when we make a serious run at going deep in the playoffs. Trent has to show significant progress this year to show that he is capable of taking the team to the next level. Results so far have been mixed and this year there should be no excuses. Unless ofcourse our OL is a sieve and he gets bashed out of his mind due to lack of adequate protection. Secondly, questioning our players ability does not make one any less of a fan than someone who supports them without analysis. Lastly, we are all behind him - the skeptics and fanboys alike. Wondering what the team does should he fail does not imply I do not support him.
  2. All I know is that we need more Cow Bell.
  3. Aside from her opinions on same-sex marriage, I found it interesting that "The Miss California Organization has confirmed it paid for Prejean's breast implants six weeks before the Miss USA pageant." I guess I was too naive in believing that participants at such competitions are supposed to be all-natural. Not only that, but this organization actually paid for her implants ! I read somewhere else that the organization says it did that to ensure her self-image is enhanced before the event. I truly truly dislike this propagation of the idea that a shapely body is a prime enhancer of self-confidence.
  4. If you are a female, I concur. Have to fill up dem cabaret clubs.
  5. Why is he anointed a diamond in the rough ? He has about as much chance of success as several of the other rookies. I usually appreciate your posts, but this one has me scratching my head (and I don't have head lice).
  6. Sarcasm meter off today, Magox ?
  7. So are you giving the blog an I ?
  8. I don't get it. You grade something incomplete if you believe the product/thesis/paper was not completed to the specifications that you needed or did not answer the question you asked. The draft is complete, the players have been selected. While I agree with the general thought that we should not grade players before a year or two in the NFL, I don't agree with the philosophy of first grading the draft and then awarding it an I. He could have well said that a draft is one event that does not lend itself to grading till a year or two down the NFL road.
  9. I was wondering about Ellis also. He was drafted fairly high and we have heard precious little about his recovery etc. I really hope he is fully healed and starts contributing on the DL.
  10. For years, I use to put it on my dishes in Thai restaurants without bothering to look at its name. Recently, a friend said 'that is Sriracha sauce'. Bought a big bottle (damn its cheap) and love it. Haven't tried it on pizza and eggs but makes bland noodles and stir-fry very tasty.
  11. Ya don't mean this Duke, do you ?
  12. Update please ... Hope all went well.
  13. You get an A for such posts ! Thanx and keep them coming. I am a movie buff too but not nearly to the extent you are (and I mean that in a good way).
  14. If memory serves me right, Bruce would complain but still play his heart out.
  15. And that point, you can bet Peters would have been pouting yet again.
  16. I have gotten over the 'which team got the better end of the deal' thought process. A relevant discussion is that - did the Bills make the right choice given the options they had. The situation was that Peters played 'unhappily' last year and would likely do the same without a new contract. So if they wanted him to play well in 2009, they would have to pony up a lot of money. So, the ultimate decision was - do we spend over $11M per year for one player (who may likely become unhappy again in 2 years) or to get the best deal we can get for him. Doing the latter would allow allocation of those funds to more players and possibly build up an OL of personnel who may not blossom in 2009 (i.e. if a rookie) but set ourselves up for a good run after 2010. Given the situation as I understand it, the Bills made the right call. I would have preferred that Peters stay a Bill but not for the money he required or the drama/distraction that came with him.
  17. That was very very funny. Sorta sad too...
  18. I think they will take a DE or DT with the first pick and go OL with their second first rounder. Much as I would like to have a TE, it will be a luxury pick in this year of dire line need. If we get Henderson, I am not sure what we will do with our first pick. Trading down and getting yet another first day pick would be nice in that situation.
  19. While I agree voice delivery are important, I cannot see the facial expressions & screen on-goings with the same intensity if I am reading the sub-titles. This was a problem when I saw 'Tell No One' and would have appreciated an English track. I think the dubbing was quite good for Let the Right One In.
  20. No need to apologize for your viewpoint if you have valid reasons to stick by them. If these viewpoints 'developed' due to any alcohol consumption and you now think otherwise, then perhaps an apology is in order. I think it is more relevant to apologize for your actions. Call him up, say you are sorry and invite them over soon to kiss (his wife*) and make-up. * sorry couldn't avoid.
  21. Come out ? It was released in the theaters a while back and is now out on DVD, Blu Ray and Netflix streaming. And yes, it did not 'do well' commercially but that has nothing to do with the quality of the movie. Speaks more about the quality of the audience. The movie is dubbed. By the way, another good import is Tell No One
  22. I whole heartedly second the recommendation. Unbelievably good movie. No sub-titles needed - it was dubbed in English very well. {Spoiler likely} ajzepp, I took away that the relationship between the two ends up being a symbiotic one rather than a love story. Oskar takes the place of her old caretaker. It is really quite beautiful - both need each other for different reasons. I think far too many have confused the relationship to be a romantic one. What do you think ?
