  1. If one were to step back and see this situation, it is apparent that no matter who you believe, it is clear that Schotty Sr. did NOT turn the Bills down as the 'Bills FO sucks' crowd were screaming about. Also, Nix's story checks out with Schotty's statements - that Nix was getting more calls than he was making.
  2. I don't think I have read much by way of derogatory comments regarding his departure. Most (everyone ?) is happy he is gone because he has been unable to build a roster with any consistent sense or purpose. Some good drafts, many bad ones and pretty much a disaster in the free agent area. He underperformed and we are happy he is gone. That hardly qualifies as 'dancing on his grave'
  3. This might actually be good news if indeed he has been instrumental in our personnel decisions over the past several years. Not sure how it worked internally with Overdorf. Also, do we have another insider at OBD ? If so, TBD must have incredible credibility.
  4. My reaction ? to Nix.
  5. I think Tim Graham and Wawrow are valuable TBDers and nevergiveup just joined that group by building up his credibility rather quickly and deservedly. I think there is space for friendly dialog, discussion and healthy disagreements here between reasonable and logical posters. I hope neither TG nor NGU is offended by the idiots on this board. In this specific discussion, there appear to be two points of view - NGU's from inside the organization and TG's from (possibly) Marty's side. As some others have said, we can choose what we want to believe without vilifying either messenger.
  6. Saved me a bunch of typing as I agree. It makes sense that Nix did not want to ruin his personal relationship with Marty and Ralph took it upon himself to be the 'fall guy' for the non-hire. Once Shanahan was gone, I was hoping we got Marty. But instead of beating up on Gailey, I would like to give him a chance. His choice of DC will be a good first indication of how he thinks. A solid, proven hire will go a long way to bumping up his credibility and Nix's. I am a tad less concerned about OC because Gailey himself has been an OC and a fairly successful one at that. Is Mike Nolan available to be our DC ?
  7. Sad thing is that the Bills' losing ways have provided plenty of fodder for the likes of Sullivan. With a new coach and expected personnel overhaul, this coming season does not promise to be a winning one either allowing Sullivan about 1.5 years to beat up on Nix. So one way or the other Sully is in a good position for the near term.
  8. I haven't gone through all pages of text but I think you should take a bow for this post.
  9. Actually it is really bad when you have to look to Cowboys fans for their opinion on our HC hire
  10. If you are correct, I won't be able to decide if I should pat you on the back or kick you in the rump. By the way whats with the 'your' ? Which team's fan are you ?
  11. I am in Houston today and the radio here brought up that game twice and described the Leon Lett taunting celebration prior to the Beebe strip. They were saying, and I paraphrase a bit "The Cowboys are fun, entertaining but their history shows that classy is not a word you can associate with them." Also, he pointed out that on that play the Cowboys were blitzing which means they wanted to get after Favre. So, then Favre calls an audible and throws for a TD. I happen to agree with them on all points.
  12. Yes, the fact that he was interested in a job and took up one with KC. Ergo, the Bills suck, RW is a cheapskate, Brandon is a moron and no one wants the Bills HC job.
  13. For once the announcers didn't have to manufacture reasons to proclaim his alleged greatness
  14. I missed that completely. Thanx for correcting me.
  15. Boring really. Hope the Colts win a thriller this evening.
  16. 49ers interviewing him for ST Coord: http://www.mercurynews.com/news/ci_14174988
  17. Guess Grimm can start looking for deals now. The Cards ain't coming back
  18. Plus Warner looked a bit unsure in that series. Saints geauxing for the kill.
  19. I will not get the warm fuzzies going into the season with bell and ?? at RT. No way. There is no getting around the fact that we need to add significant talent at both tackle spots. We should draft a QB high only if we have already addressed these needs in FA or are confident of getting the players we need later in the draft. Alternately, I think we should spend all our top picks (trade down if need be) to get tackles and LB. I will be happier with a serviceable QB (with an excellent OL) this year than a serviceable OL. We have been going into the past several seasons hoping things work out with the OL and we all know how that has turned out. Perhaps Bell becomes a very good LT but I cannot see us going into the season with that hope.
  20. Congratulations. You, Trent is Unstoppable and DarthICE form an elite and (thankfully) tiny group of people 'Most unlikely to Succeed as Translators'
  21. Because the guy, in general, cannot make decisions.
