  1. Why, oh why, would you besmirch Whitner in a conversation with ieatcrayonz ?
  2. (sorry to repeat myself) My pick is the 49ers
  3. I seriously doubt he will retire at this point. He is a competitor and I am sure realizes that he has just one ring to show for all his brilliance. Why not go to an almost-contender, put them over the top and retire with another ring ? If he is cleared medically, he should be able to play for another 2 years.
  4. Speaking of doctors, isn't there an ortho on this forum who can set us straight ? We should have a list of professionals and their specialties, and list them as go-to guys for expert opinions. e.g. Chef Jim = cooking
  5. That would certainly be in the realm of possibilities. As good as Alex Smith played last season, getting PManning will make that team an instant contender. I would also guess that they would go WR with their first pick and give him weapons. Interesting days ahead for sure ...
  6. Maybe 3D TVs won't go away, but are you sure your optimism is because you were recently at the CES ? 3D TVs have indeed been tough sells and the electronics manufacturers are just not used to sticking with products that do not sell in large quantities. There was a time when this was not true, where new electronic gizmos would have a long life and enjoy strong prices (VCRs, Walkmans, portable cassette players ...) but not any more. SIgnificant technology jumps such as DVDs, flat screen TVs quickly become commodities and their prices drop precipitously. This has not been the case with the 3D TVs and hence I see trouble ahead. Back to the OP, I normally just pay for the movie ticket and either carry in a cup of water or sneak in a can of pop. I can live without food and snacks for 2 hours. I think the concept of popcorn and coke is more due to force of habit for most people anyway. Do you come from the elite Michael Bay school of movie watching ? TTSS was brilliant, IMO.
  7. You CANNOT be serious ! Is this real or did you do a little editing ? 'Cos if real, its totally incredible.
  8. I think that is a very reasonable price for his services. Also, IMHO, we are not done with the WR position and expect it to be further addressed in FA or in the top rounds of the draft.
  9. I did not know that either. And I knew he was young but not 39 years young. Looks fit enough in that pic to wear a uniform and start playing.
  10. Jumped 20 cents close to my house (suburb of Chicago). Was $3.89 and is now $4.09
  11. Also note that Social security goes belly up in 2030. So 10 years is adequate time to get rid of most of the US population.
  12. Any woman with ta-ta's in her name has got to be good
  13. Most of the answers in this thread are proof of why such fairly significant scientific stories don't make front page news
  14. We had just one pick in the 2010 draft ?
  15. Given their stellar defense, I wonder how a more competent QB may perform. The divine comebacks meant that the Broncos were in a deep hole which may have been shallower if Tebow was a better QB. Sure others have used harsher words. But my question is why a teammate and one who plays the same position chose to say these negative things. A good team mate would privately express his frustrations and unhappiness to the coach and management.
  16. Quinn has now gone public with his rather negative opinion of Tebow. He credits the defense and luck more than Tebow's quarterbacking skills. I tend to agree with what he states but wonder what motivation Quinn had to go public with his displeasure. Is this a back door way of being kicked out from Denver so he can get a chance to start elsewhere ?
  17. Over the past few years, the number of quality free agents hitting the open market has diminished quite a bit. Not saying there are no good players to be had but there isnt a luxury of riches. And about Clabo (cos someone just mentioned him), we made a pretty decent offer and it appears that he was just using the Bills for leverage in his negotiations so technically money was not the deciding factor for him.
  18. If you are into the original Sherlock Holmes (and not that Robert Downey abomination), check out the Brit series called Sherlock which re-imagines SH in modern day London. They have retained the essence of the character while giving him the luxury of modern technology. Series one had 3 episodes and they are a doozy. Series 2 is airing across the pond now and should be on Netflix in a couple of months.
  19. If he does, I am sure it will be because nobody wanted him and as usual the Bills overpay for players who no one else wants to sign.
  20. First of all thanks to a thoroughly entertaining thread. I was watching a bit from the sidelines and seeing you and PDaddy go at each other with great delight. Anyway, more seriously, IMHO the failure of the offense is neither of the extremes you two are fighting about. My opinion: - Fitz is no more than a caretaker, a short gap solution till we get a QB worthy of winning us the big one. So, yes, I dont think Fitz is good enough to win it all but I don't think he is an incompetent moron either (none of you said that) - I think the edges of our OL are weak. Hairston may be a solution but probably at the RT spot and not LT where some athleticism is required. Bell played well in his limited time and that is his basic problem - his inability to finish 16 games has played out far too frequently and we need a replacement. Bell can be good depth - We badly need receiving threats. Fitz's performance tanked when most of our already limited WR corps went down. Even when he had some time to throw, there were few options. And the lack of deep passes is a function of both Fitz's inaccuracy (which ggoes down the farther he has to throw) and lack of somebody who can get downfield in the 3-4 seconds that Fitz had to throw). Should sign Stevie and give him a solid #2. I do like David Nelson but only as a #3 or to convert 3rd downs. So we need 2 WRs - one as a #2 and one as a #4. I don't like Donald Jones. As to the other side of the ball, the switch to the 4-3 is good. We need: - at least 1 LB. - Pass rushing DE - One CB probably two as I don't think McGee will come back and McKelvin will be here no more than the length of his contract In short, I think Fitz is good enough to be a middle of the pack QB. He needs things to be above average around him and he cannot seriously transcend the skill set around him. But, he is good enough to support a rebuilding team. We should acquire a potentially great QB, whenever he is available.
  21. Just got a text message that Routt is visiting the Bills today. The almighty linky
  22. He had so little time and downfield view at that moment that instinctively he threw it away risking a safety than have it be a pick-6. Seems to me that this was not the talented teams of yore that BB is used to coaching in Superbowls. Hence, he resorted to some gambles which did not quite work out. This was one of them. the other was easing up on the defense to let the Giants score on their last drive so as to allow almost a minute for Brady to score.
