  1. "96 Tears" No friggin' wonder I am a Bills fan.
  2. That was funny as it is turning out to be very true. If things keep going this way regarding players not retained by Nix et al, the league will cut to the chase and immediately give up on any guy let go by the Bills.
  3. Stevie has put up some pretty impressive numbers the past two years especially considering the lack of another viable WR on the team. Evans basically did not exist in 2010 and in 2011, there was hardly a second WR who could compete for the ball in every down. I think if (when) we draft an impact WR, we will see some incredibe numbers from Stevie.
  4. Filled the team's biggest need and is selling tickets as well.
  5. So Simon - how come you have not posted your thoughts to your own scenario and the 4+ pages worth of responses ? Did you mean to say that you like these choices or just doing market research on behalf of the FO ?
  6. I am assuming you are asking our opinion if both the above were to happen. I will be happy with either of the two above happening as we need a WR and the above are presumed to be elite-class WRs. Floyd comes with some past troubles but considering the emphasis the FO places on character, us picking him will imply Nix is comfortable that Floyd has overcome those issues now. But I will not like the Bills picking both of them with our top two picks because we need immediate help at the tackle spots and probably at one LB spot (in addition to WR ofcourse). While we can pick the other roles lower in the draft, it reduced the possibility that these latter picks will help us immediately. So, in short, while the individual players may be very good, it will be allocating some very valuable draft value to the same position in the same draft and hence, I am not in favor of it.
  7. I have a tough time believing that the Bills were offering significantly less than $3 MM especially given the current stack of LTs (or lack thereof) on the team. Hence, though the $8+ MM roster bonus for 2013 seems attractive at this point, there is very little chance Bell actually sees it. Hence, it is a gamble on Bell's part.
  8. If the Bills offered similar annual money, it would be a surprise that Bell didn't accept it. I wonder what Peters was whispering in his ear ("stop working for those cheap ******** and come play for a real organization"?). Bell should realize that if Peters comes back healthy in a year, there is no way he will see the 2013 bonus and Peters return will be the reason for him being back on the street. I realize that this is an awful lot of speculation but this smells of a stupid decision on Bell's part. Perhaps his agent and Peters convinced him that the Eagles' deal was somehow better.
  9. They don't ? Under the guise of sarcasm and outrageous-sounding analogies, I think he makes many good football points. Whether I agree with them is another matter, but witty he is.
  10. Given the same financial premise that you are making, I see the situation differently. CBs are highly paid because good ones are tough to come by. Which is why teams have to draft DBs frequently in the hopes that they hit on some good ones. Also, financially restricted teams may choose not to pay $10MM+ for a CB which again means there needs to be a constant supply of DBs from the draft. Now, from the football perspective, while the front 7 are extremely important on both passing and running plays, there will be the free scoring teams such as the Saints and Pats* who will be tough to stop purely with front-7 pressure. Brees, Brady etc will get their completions - the goal will be to contain the damage which is where we need good DBs. Overall, I agree that drafting a CB this year in round 1 is not as preferred as say drafting a OL or WR. My personal preference is to draft the best out of WR, OL and LB. But I willl not be too upset if we again draft a CB in the early rounds.
  11. That is my concern as well. There has been a lot of attention paid to the D side of the ball over the past two drafts and this current FA. While that was fully justified, the offense at this point is more depleted than last year. As for Hairston, I liked the fact that he showed so quickly (in his rookie year) that he can man a tackle spot. Whether he is a long term LT or dominant RT remains to be seen. Another factor is that this FA hasn't thrown out good tackles in the market. Which means the draft remains the only way to stack the roster. One move I disliked last year was letting Hangartner go without adequate replacement for depth. We better not go into this season with a wish and prayers against injury. We need to walk out of this draft with at least one WR and two OL. I dont mind if we shore up the LB and CB corps besides these picks.
  12. Seems to have been written before the Demetrius Bell signing. Else this would be #6 on the list.
  13. next time i suggest you support your post with some reasoning and while you are at it also use some punctuation else you get people riled up more than due to the silliness of your post
  14. Good post. There are two capable LTs on the market right now but both with a history of injuries - McNeill and Bell. It is almost a given that the Bills will draft a tackle in the first few rounds of this upcoming draft. If one of the above signs with Philly/Pitts, it is highly likely the Bills will sign the other and have the draft pick develop. I strongly agree that Hairston may look better on the right side than left. In short, the OL is of concern. What happens over the next month will be interesting.
  15. The Bills may wait to get their draft board set. If they believe that a Day 1 starter @ LT is not available, they may sign him to an incentive laden contract and take their BPA. By the time they decide on their draft choices, if Bell is still un-signed, then it works out very well for the Bills. They get cheap insurance and wait for a Round 2+ pick to develop.
  16. In which case, how is it a bit of both ? Dude is just 'fraid of the Johnson
  17. I don't think Buddy said he needed 9 players from those picks. I would love it if an OT is picked in the earlier rounds.
  18. I have been on that pier in the peak of summer last year. There is no railing and really no need for one if people are doing what they are supposed to over there - enjoy being near the water and gawk at bikini clad girls on the beach (behind that pier). The sad part may be that idiots will start a petition to have a railing to protect idiots like this woman who think it is their right to text and walk/drive/ride a bike. Society should not have to cover for idiots.
  19. No kidding. I was kinda looking forward to the craziness that was sure to ensue in NY. i am still hoping the Jets land him
  20. So with this latest news of Mark Anderson signing, I realized that many of the players recently signed/re-signed by the FO are in a sweet 25-28 age bracket. So I decided to dig a bit deeper and quickly sorted the roster for players who are starters or otherwise seen as important players on all sides of the ball. The list is below (Hope it pastes properly). The average age is 27 and change with not too much deviation (Standard deviation of = 3.7). Which means we have a young roster with many players such as Kyle Williams, Mario Williams, Wood, Levitre ready to hit the prime of their career. COnclusion - this roster is built for a 4-5 year domination. We are still missing a few pieces such as LT, WR and one LB but depending on how the draft and rest of FA look, we are getting set for a long time guys. Kudos to the FO ! Barnett, Nick 30 Byrd, Jairus 25 Carrington, Alex 24 Chandler, Scott 26 Dareus, Marcell 22 Edwards, Dwan 30 Fitzpatrick, Ryan 29 Florence, Drayton 31 Hairston, Chris 22 Heard, Kellen 26 Jackson, Fred 31 Johnson, Steve 25 Jones, Donald 24 Kelsay, Chris 32 Levitre, Andy 25 Lindell, Rian 35 McGee, Terrence 31 McIntyre, Corey 33 McKelvin , Leodis 26 Merriman, Shawne 27 Moorman, Brian 36 Morrison, Kirk 30 Nelson, David 25 Pears, Erik 29 Rogers, Justin 24 Sanborn, Garrison 26 Scott, Bryan 30 Searcy, Da'Norris 23 Sheppard, Kelvin 24 Smith, Brad 28 Spiller, C.J. 24 Williams, Aaron 21 Williams, Kyle 28 Williams, Mario 27 Wilson, George 31 Wood, Eric 26 Average 27.4 years
  21. Depending on what happens with Brees' contract. I have a tough time believing that they won't come to terms in a timely manner, but if it does drag on, it may spell trouble.
  22. Timmy and a 7th rounder in exchange for a 4th and 6th. Link
  23. If he signs, my WAG at the contract value is 3 years, $12-1$15 MM total
  24. I love it !! I Love it !!! Update: A 4th and 6th round pick in exchange for Tebow and a 7th rounder
  25. You can tell Mark Anderson isn't quite as coveted as Mario Willians. The Bills sent Nix to pick up Mario by jet. But they just asked Jay to call the local cab company for Mark Anderson
