I have never been a Fed fan because I always thought he is too arrogant. He is very good and was atleast partly responsible for raising the level of competition in men's tennis. We are lucky to be witnessing one of the most competitive eras of tennis which started about 5 years ago. Fed IMHO took advantage of a brief lull to pile on Grand Slams then has had a tough going since Rafa and now Djoker started dominating. As for this Wimbledon, I want Rafa to win because I just admire his tough style of play and never give up attitude. Howvever, I think Djoker will win due to his excellence on this surface. He is still in Rafa's head despite the French Open loss. If Rafa wins this title.by beating him, that will set Rafa on path to win the most Grand Slams, a goal that looks difficult given how welk Djoker has been playing since last year

By far the best trailer to date. Thanx.

Was there last week but didn't have a whole lot of time. Did a few things on Fez's list like the USS Constitution, site of Boston Massacre, Fenueil Hall etc. If you are into beaches, drive a bit and go to Nantasket beach - water should be warmer by the time you go there.

What, no discussion of the latest power rankings?

IN recent memory, these detestable media guys, in their preseason predictions, have said the Bills suck. And in general, we have. So I am hoping this time the reverse is true -
I did not read TG's article. Is he implying that mechanics are not necessarily to blame for the middle and right ? Because that is a pretty even distribution of INTs (acknowledging that there isn't enough data to understand what percent of his total throws each represents). I would presume that mechanics would improve his overall INT numbers and the improvement should be more pronounced on the sideline throws which he has lot of difficulty with. In any case, it remains to be seen how much of an improvement we will see and if it is a function of when in the season he is playing i.e. does his accuracy diminish as the season wears on ? As several have acknowledged, this is Fitz's make or break year. I wish we had one more proven WR so that there would be no excuses left (save for injuries)
-
I am guessing you are being sarcastic. Given Fitz's limited range, accuracy and penchant for throwing inopportune INTs, it is tough to rate him among the league's elite. He is undoubtedly smart and covers up for his shortcomings by playing a smart game (maximizing his strengths). That and Gailey's play calling make him look much better than his inherent skills indicate. Hence, I am not surprised that a QB-expert like Jaws rates him low. I do think 24 is too low looking at the other starters around the league. A high teens rating sounds more appropriate in my unscientific view.

I am a big Cronenberg fan but found "Dangerous Method" quite disappointing. Hopefully he redeems himself with Cosmopolis -

I know what you are talking about. However,my post history (which I don't expect you to remember ofcourse) will tell you I am not that poster. And I offfered enough logic about why I think he should be considered. Just because there is a.plethora of washed up ex-talent in the market should not lead us to assume Ocho is one of them. It will be a disservice for the FO to not even consider him (not saying they are not) Thats all I have to say on the subject -

Saw Prometheus this afternoon and that movie is terrific, excellent and intense. I absolutely loved it, even more than Avengers. Problem is I cannot review it without spoilers. So, I highly encourage all sci-fi and/or Alien fans to check it out. Sure there are some plot holes but Scott bought my suspension of disbelief so completely that they were quite insignificant to the entire experience. Good cast, acting, plot. -

Looks like I am one of the few advocating that the Bills try him out and possibly sign him. Here is my logic (and some counter points to some good ones raised here): - He is washed up. Certainly looks that way based on his serious lack of production last year. But, I think he was in the wrong offense which is very Brady-centric in its execution. Timing, being on the same page as TB. That is not Ocho's strong suit. He needs to have a simplified offense where he can just run his routers and out-duel the defender for the ball. I think Gailey is good at using the strengths of his players and he can use Ocho effectively especially in a #2 role - He is a me-first guy: He was but has been pretty quiet last year. Has life sobered him up ? Has he matured ? I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for a year or two. Guys, lets not be hypocritical here - we have already signed one (ex) head case in Vince Young. If we are giving the benefit of doubt to him, there is no reason to not extend that same generosity to Ocho especially considering that both players spent relatively quiet times last year with their second team after a drama-filled stint with their first teams - We need a #2 badly: Yes we can wait for the cuts to see if some viable option drop in our laps. But we are not in control of that situation. Ocho is available now and am pretty sure he can be signed on the cheap. Bring him in and see if he at least has the will to win. Would you have said the same to those wishing we signed Vince Young ? In any case, stick to arguments. -

He is exactly the kind of WR we need (from a capability standpoint) for the next 1-2 seasons. What concerns me is his underwhelming 2011 campaign. I wonder if it was an effect of just not 'getting' the BB/Brady offense. He always was a good to great athlete but not the smartest one. If Gailey thinks he has anything in the tank, we should grab him. He should do well in a #2 role, but again, is he washed up ? Why ? -

I have an Android device and switching off GPS did wonders to extend time-between-charges. I just switch it on whenever I need to use the Navi feature. I really don't like apps such as Facebook knowing where I am so keeping GPS off is no loss for my regular use. -

Thanx. I realize that the overseas market is huge expecially for blockbusters. I know that in India, the local movie release schedule has been shaken up and the local big releases have to be cognizant of the release schedule of the Hollywood biggies. While this factor is mostly relevant in the urban centers, that is a huge chuck of business for the local movie industry. In general, besides the movie aspect, I expect these movies are good for US exports. I wonder how much our national trade deficit is postively affected by the money these movies make overseas. In any case, I am not sure how releasing movies abroad makes better business sense than releasing in the US first (as used to be the norm). I am not trying to be an a$$ and have this genuine question. -

Thanx as usual, Mark. I can't wait for Prometheus. Killer premise with a terrific cast. As a side note for those who don't know Idris Elba - guy is an intense Brit actor. I saw his BBC series called 'Luther' and it is fantastic. OTOH, "Abraham Lincoln" is just not getting me excited. "Magic Mike" may be interesting simply due to Sorderbergh. By the way, whats with the stinking foreigners getting to see movies a week before us ? Of the prominent ones, Avengers and Prometheus both were released to the international crowd before the US. -

If its going to cost that much, I might as well get married to her and bang her a few more times -
I agree on your 'Public Enemies' comment. I do want Depp to take on more of such roles though and just stop doing these ridiculously stupid 'Pirates' movies which are turning him into a caricature. I understand that the Pirates franchise makes a lot of money but at some point, a good actor has to think about his legacy and stop thinking about how to swoon through the same role 4 (or five) times over.

Bills Still Looking to Bring in Players??
Fan in Chicago replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't have the numbers in front of me, or information regarding differential cap hit for them. But, I did not mention Edwards because we have yet to see how KWilliams comes from injury, if Troup can even be a depth player and if Heard can progress. Edwards looks to me to be better suited as a DT than Spencer Johnson. As of now, the DL is a strength and smart cuts are what are called for (should we need the cap space) -
Bills Still Looking to Bring in Players??
Fan in Chicago replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sure we do. And that is cap management. Say the FO agrees that a vet WR or LB is available and will fit our scheme well. I would think these players (presumably cut due to other team's cap issues) should be available at a reasonable price. We do need to sign all of those you listed and we will cut some players ourselves which will be a surprise. Trick is that we need to shore up weak areas and maintain areas where depth (good mix of youth and vet) is available. The obvious (only?) area is along the DL where players such as Spencer Johnson may be cut to make room. All this is ofcourse speculation but I am seeking to answer your question about how we can bring in help for areas which are weak now and then proceed to manage the cap over the next year -
Saw MIB 3 also - tepid at best. Better than part 2 but certainly not as good as the first one. I actually had some hopes for #3 but thought the plot lacked depth and the jokes were forced. Not much flowed freely. It was good entertainment for 1 hr 45 minutes but could have been better. Dark Shadows is a rare Burton movie that I have zero interest in watching. (this coming from a guy who thought his 'Planet of the Apes' was pretty good). Depp better change his style in a hurry as his performances are getting way too repetitive. More 'Public Enemy' and less Captain Sparrow will do him good.

Bills Still Looking to Bring in Players??
Fan in Chicago replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Despite the questionable credentials of the writer (I am not going to dignify him with the 'journalist' label), I do think the Bills will be well served by adding a vet WR with a 1-2 year contract. We need one while we know for sure what we have in Easley and TJ. Easley may or may not become a good WR and typical 3rd round WRs do not make a huge impacti in season 1. Hence, the crying need for another WR.
