Kelvin Sheppard looked like he interfered on the 1st down There was a WR wide open on the left side of the EZ on the 3rd down play !! -

Saw Elysium on Friday. (tried to keep it spoiler-free) Good: - Good plot, realistic but grand visuals - Good acting all around. Damon really excels as an action hero far more than he did in any of the Bourne movies. Copley follows up his fish-out-of-water performance (District 9) with a thoroughly bad-a$$ Kruger with the right amount of villiany. Supporting cast is adequate. Foster looked wasted as all she does is bark orders and try to sound scheming. - Excellent direction. I was particularly heartened to see him do an excellent sophomore act cos I was worried he is a one-shot wonder. He most definitely is not. Him and Duncan Jones are the hope for the future of brainy sci-fi Could be better: - The climax could be better. It has a good build-up but needed more of an edge-of-the-seat feel - Again, plot closure could be a bit better Overall, it was well expected that Blomkamp intentionally drifted from the visceral feel of District 9 to a more mainstream movie. Critics who lament that it is 'too loud' (it isnt IMHO) or too populist may be well served to read their own glowing reviews of decidedly shallower and generic blockbusters this year (yea, I am looking at you Iron Man 3, Man of Steel). While other summer blockbusters have their place with big action, huge sets etc, there is a very nice place for a deeper movie like Elysium. having said that, Blomkamp did not go full Hollywood on us and that may be a bit of a failing. At some points, he could have toned down the political commentary and concentrated on giving more thrills. (see Spielberg. He builds up the characters and story, but when it is time for action, he goes all mini-Michael Bay and provides goosebumps). But Blomkamp is a young director and he will learn that over time. Overall, I recommend it if you like a little depth to your scifi.

Justin Blackmon reportedly escorted off the field for a verbal spat with a Dolphins CB: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000228549/article/jaguars-justin-blackmon-escorted-from-sideline-after-spat -
I vote for Astro also for his terrific TC reports

Guard position battle not going so hot

Not sure why it has to be one or the other. We had enough to sign both. Unless we pretend to save the money for next year and then get into the same cycle again. (In other news, I really need how to multi-quote on TBD.) -

I certainly hope it all works out but the majority of the line is now discards and the only thing motivating two subpar guards gives us is one who sucks less than the other. I know the OL has to operate as a unit but with at least 2 of the three pieces being weak (assuming Hairston gets back soon), who will cover for who ? And we are not even having a conversation about depth, this is about the starting OL -

Not sure what to make of your comment. Are you saying I should be happy and ecstatic about the situation ? Right. We were in a great position and bringing a rookie QB to play behind a solid OL would really show us the true O potential. -

And we have come full circle. This is the same pair that Marrone was unhappy about and caused this thread. So it ends with Marrone exploring options and concluding this is the best battle possible at this time. Kinda depressing. -
Thanx, Astro. This is one post I really look forward to every day of TC

If WoodS starts helping out on the OL, we are in deep doo-doo. Just IMHO of course :-P -
Better than the oblivious morons who say nothing when you hold the door open for them

And from a team building exercise, the problem is exacerbated when we fail to retain said top picks who do pan out instead of flaming out (which has happened entirely too often with the Bills). -
Currently being held by Mario

Sure. But they were not available. I have openly expressed unhappiness regarding not able to retain Levitre. While I am not saying Levitre is the top at his position. But if the difference between the Bills and Titans offer was $1 MM/yr (as is my recollection from the discussion during his neogotiation) it would have made sense for the Bills to overpay slightly and not create a hole. My frustration is that I don't want to reconcile this loss with 'we need to save money to pay Wood, CJ' and then when the time comes, be in the same position. If we lose one or both, will we again try to feel better by saying they needed too much money ? At some point, the Bills have to spend the money and not keep pushing this 'future' agenda which may or may not come to pass. We took a while getting to a position of strength on the OLine and would hate to see it slowly dismantled. I do not want to see the era of Dockery, Walker etc. Before this season, I was drooling at the thought of a Glenn-Levitre-Wood-Urbik-Hairston line to protect a young QB. Levitre is gone and Hairston is injured (hopefully not too serious). -
You are welcome. And Darien Lake was my first ever amusement park. Good memories, with my then GF..... {insert nostalgic smiley}

You commenting on other people's biases ? I got a chuckle out of that one.
