Rd 2, Pick 33: WR Keon Coleman, Florida State

So how many endorsements is that ? Macy's, Subway, Andy's ice cream, Dairy Queen... But he doesn't like Gumbo - friggin bust pick by Beane! 😡 -
I said with good hands too 😃 Guy hasn't amounted to much in his career and we cannot rely on him to be the missing piece. It's a total folly to think our WR room is complete

Can Brady use the ones on our roster effectively? Imo, yes based on last few games he was the OC. Is that receiver room adequate? Absolutely not. We need at least one vet and/or speedy WR with good hands. Otherwise the overall offense is going to be limited and again dependent on Allen's superman efforts

This question has been more than adequately answered by @Beck Water @GunnerBilland @Thrivefourfive. I am sensing that you are looking for some sort of support that Kincaid is that player. He isn't and shouldn't be. We need a WR who is fast enough and gains separation down the field to challenge defenses. Kincaid will be a good one but not a substitute. Just because the Chiefs made it work (more out of necessity) doesn't mean we should strive to emulate them

That highlight reel says that this guy is going to feast on back shoulder throws. -
Yes, he did indeed say that but the draft is not over yet so perhaps he drafts a seemingly one-trick pony who can sprint. I dont see such a burner in the available FA pile. We still need a speed guy. Lets not talk ourselves out of that need. The deep part of the field is still not covered by anyone in the WR room yet.

I believe Beane said to Bishop "Dalton was in my ear about you a lot"

I admittedly am more stressed for tonight's draft than I was for yesterday's. Most of my stress comes from the fear that we will pick a DB at #33. I really want the first pick to be a WR. -

I surely cannot profess to beane's logic in not wanting Worthy. Could be because of his weakness against press coverage, his small stature, perceived Goodwin type durability issues. Maybe Franklin can provide the speed with a bit more size. But clearly Beane didnt want Worthy and there was little chance we could have prevented the Chiefs from taking him anyway. I do agree with you that today will show what Beane's plan is. Could be a disastrous one but lets wait a couple of days before making judgments on his entire draft. -

On this I fully agree. But in this particular situation, imo, the Bills couldn't have stopped Chiefs from getting him anyway -

My only counter is that the way to prevent Chiefs from getting Worthy was to pick him ourselves. How else would we have prevented Chiefs getting him anyway? I am guessing that Beane knew that the 3 teams in the middle did not want him I absolutely do not want to help our arch(est) rival but this sounds like a situation where the Bills got some assets while not changing any of the selections between the two teams -
the perils of not moving up - a cautionary tale
Fan in Chicago replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Excellent post. More recently, Cowboys stood still when Beane did a small trade-up and got a guy Jones coveted. I am all for a trade-up to get the guy you really want and the cost of a low draft pick to move up a few slots is forgotten very quickly. Yet some fans don't forget and keep lamenting that "yea but Beane had to use assets to move up". It doesn't matter when you land a Kincaid type player. I am very much convinced we will see a trade-up tonight. -
Charming young man, ain't he?

Rumor: Bills trying aggressively to move up for a WR in round one

Simply keeping up with the Chiefs means we will stay one step behind. We need to leap frog them. With weapons to over come the gap in coaching -
Why the Bills don't "need" a traditional X receiver
Fan in Chicago replied to Mikey152's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yessss. Thats my contention too -that more than "#1 WR" or "#2 WR", i rather think of our receivers are (in) capable of challenging the opposing D in every part of the field cos our QB can reach there without rainbowing passes. At this moment, we dont have that kind of field coverage from the WR room. The skillset leaves large areas of uncovered green. Hope that changes in the next 51 hours. -
