No trade partners for TJ? Shocking!
Fan in Chicago replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And yet couldn't get anything for TJ. Quite telling. Assuming we keep 6 WRs, the marginal player is better to be ST contributor like Easley or a hard worker like Hogan. -
For a small meal (<$10), I would say a buck or two is appropriate. The fact that the owner is busting his rear to keep costs low should have nothing to do with your decision to tip. As long as he provided you the service you expect, he deserves a tip. I used to visit a small town in Texas which had a coffee place which doubled as a lunchtime diner also. Food was ordered and picked up at a counter. Very few of the locals tipped , but I always put in $2 for a $9 lunch** **The fact that the girls were cute, with low cut blouses and talked nicely to me had no bearing on my decision to tip.

Seeing Palmer Throw the ball on bb.com....
Fan in Chicago replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At this point, it is tough to make a fair judgment of Palmer considering he only has had a few days with the Bills offense. If he plays terribly tonight, we will not know if the reason is that he didn't train enough with the system and players or because he plain sucks. Evidence of the latter is plenty given his history in the league. I truly hope he was signed just for competitive intelligence and the Bills still plan to get a vet as backup/insurance. -
Can't wait. Those not in Chicago,

Well then if SJ is let go by the 49ers and picked up by Houston, we will have our test cases complete - Gailey+Fitz+SJ (Bills), Fitz by himself (Titans), SJ by himself (49ers) and then Fitz+SJ (Texans). While I realize the control variables are not accurate (the rest of the teams matter), they may give us an idea whether the combination of the three maximized the potential of each individual.

Cutler annoyed with Bills’ signing of QB Jordan Palmer
Fan in Chicago replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
IMO, the Bears made some mistakes the last few years. Among them: - Letting Lovie Smith go - Poor drafting in the 1st round - Letting McCown go - Extending Cutler, especially to that huge contract. I would have kept McCown and drafted a QB high. The money saved could be spent on free agents on D -
Turmoil brewing between Marrone and Whaley?
Fan in Chicago replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This was the crux of my concern before and after last year's draft. The seeds of the QB problem were sown long before last draft. Nix made a major blunder by not prioritizing the QB position and/or incorrectly evaluating Fitz as the long term answer. Much as the 49ers did, he should have taken a QB early in his tenure despite the brief flashes that Fitz showed. Painting himself into a corner caused what you note above. Picking for position than BPA almost always gets a team in trouble over the long run. Be that as it may, the problem continues to be compounded by a bone-headed confidence in one QB. I am NOT saying that EJ sucks - I am talking overall strategy regarding the QB position. -
Turmoil brewing between Marrone and Whaley?

In principle, I didn't mind the Marrone hire. But, hiring a rookie OC for a rookie QB is a disaster waiting to happen. -
That clears that up. I was wondering who is the only dumba$$ fellow poster to vote 'not foul'
-
Okay. though the extra 'd' got me.

Ex-Bill. Alan Branch. "Branch was taken into custody after authorities noticed him throwing up out of the driver's side of his car in the town of Cheektowaga, N.Y., a city about seven miles outside of Buffalo" -
Turmoil brewing between Marrone and Whaley?
Fan in Chicago replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If anything, Whaley has not shown himself to be a man of patience. If the offense stinks and he believes the OC is the main culprit, IMO, Whaley will make a move mid-season. -
Whatever the fallout is of this discord better happen as soon as possible. The last thing I want is for things to boil over during the regular season. As bad as it looks right now, some 1.5 weeks away from the season opener, it will be a lot worse if there are coaching or major player changes after the season begins. To Whaley and Marrone - solve your issues, do something about it now or agree to a Gaza-style peace and wait till next offseason to sort things out.

Turmoil brewing between Marrone and Whaley?
Fan in Chicago replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What is clearly not speculation is that there are issues which Whaley and Marrone had a loud discussion about in public. I fully expect organizations to have disagreements between personnel but in private, behind closed doors. Something smells and its not a bouquet of roses. -

Wasnt there also a reported flare up between the two during half time of the Bucs game ? -
Bills Release Thad Lewis
Fan in Chicago replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I agree that Nix and then Whaley have whiffed at filling the most important role in football. HOwever, I am not on board with the 'draft one every year' philosophy. I lean more towards, get a vet and a rookie so you are covered on the down side but have potential on the up side. I am sure you meant Jordan and not Carson. Curious isn't it ? I too am wondering what happened. But I cant believe the Bills are done. There must be a plan to get a vet or something. Right ? Well I hope so anyway -

Wow. That was fast after the Palmer signing. They must have really disliked Lewis' offseason or seen something in Palmer that is worth at least a #3 spot. -

I haven't seen you make personal attacks. I don't see why anyone else should resort to those means, especially when it is unprovoked. -

I don't see how he was disrespectful and stated his point of view. I don't see where he made any personal attacks so still do not see why you think it was justified for you to do it. What you do with your life and your time is of little concern to me. I do value decorum on this board and am attempting to tell you where you erred. I refuse to get down to the belligerent tone you are striking. I am sure NoSaint is perfectly capable of defending himself, but am stepping in to support him as I would a few others around here. -

You could have debated with him or disagreed with his points without stooping to this level. Especially with someone as respected as NoSaint. -
Sign him for a few weeks, pick his brain on the Pats* offense, then cut him

Marrone open to bringing in another viable QB.

Your words were "Orton is retiring (I have no idea why he keeps being mentioned)". My post was specifically to say that there are no reports post-Cowboys that say he is retiring.
