  1. Oh thats okay. Happens to the best of us. Not saying you are the best of us but if you were, it could still happen.
  2. Even with Vick they could have signed Orton, no ? Hence my point that they placed a lot of trust in Vick to not go after Orton. Orton was clearly the safer backup option.
  3. New one: "When you cross reference this list with the toxic differential, we are a shoe in."
  4. As opposed to being booted out ?
  5. Wrong Houston as Matt in KC points out. But don't feel too bad, the Bears also got confused and only later realized which Houston they signed.
  6. Their faith in Vick and blindness to what Orton had to offer must be held against Idzik.
  7. Remains to be seen. In the SB, the Denver O couldn't solve the Seattle D either. So let us not place a whole lot of blame just on the Denver D last year. I always thought that PManning suffered from a weak D in Indy which prevented him from more playoff/SB wins. This year, he has no excuse. If he again loses in the playoffs or SB, the case for him being a playoff choker gets stronger. The greatest QB with the most records and least playoff success. Hence, this season is very interesting for the Broncos and Manning.
  8. Totally agree. He is the best option and has lot of talent surrounding him. However, given Orton's history of being a ~0.500 starter, I would be cautious of any over-optimism. First things first - make the playoffs.
  9. Every week we seem to be playing a top-10 defense ! If Jackson is back, we will have pass protection help. On O, we should throw a lot. On D, we match up well because their passing game is mediocre and our run-D is good enough to slow down Charles. Won't be easy, but I predict we win a close one. Hang on. So all these years, he has been throwing with a good shoulder ??
  10. So are you now questioning the standard measure of ranking a defense in the NFL ?
  11. I don't know, man. 5 kids for every 100 times I have sex. Thats like 1 in 20 probability. Roughly the same as the Bills frequency of making playoffs. Which circles back to eball's original post.
  12. Guy missed a PAT. Which kicker misses a point after ? This gives me as much comfort as a condom claiming 95% effectiveness.
  13. This is lazy analysis at best. You need to consider that in most games, the D is making it tough on opposing Offenses. Also, the ST have improved. All these aspects are making the Bills look better than they actually are. Next time, do you homework before posting.
  14. They are giving up the 6th fewest yards/game pretty much the standard measure for overall defense. The above stat may be related to short field position their 28th ranked offense is giving to their opponents.
  15. Against what was the #7 defense in the league, if I may add.
  16. You start off by saying that and then proceed to list excuses of why we shouldn't be excited about the win. Reading the rest of your post indicates that you may pretend to be 'happy' but really want to throw a lot of water on the fire of a win.
  17. Considering the options Rex Ryan has, I am willing to give him a pass for not benching Smith quickly. Blame (err... bless) their FO for not having the foresight to sign a competent backup. Heck, Orton was there to be had but it was the Bills that got him.
  18. I agree about the Texans game but yesterday, there were ample opportunities to throw more. The run-run-pass-punt was getting tiresome. But I think it was because of the game situation where Marrone just did not want any of Ortons '1 interception per game' to jeopardize the momentum. If Vick had shown some semblance of mounting a strong comeback in the second half, I bet we would have seen more passes. But I am speculating and need to see more games before a pattern emerges.
  19. I recall Jauron's teams being soft and conservative no matter who the opponent. It bears watching but the run/pass ratio by Marrone appears to be tuned to the opponent and the game situation.
  20. I argue that this 'middle ground' needs to be a constant for any organization whether coming off a winning or losing season. Cannot stand still in the NFL
  21. Neither is it a rallying cry for 'cleaning house' as was the premise to this discussion
