  1. The only ones who have let anyone down is us fans ourselves. As you pointed out, considering Orton's long history, there really was no reason to believe he is anything more than a 0.500 QB. He did not declare himself to be the savior of the franchise or a HOF QB. He just signed towards the end of the offseason. He was the best available but that is not saying a lot.
  2. But, but Marrone sucks. ergo, Nassib must be good. A tangent here, but would you be surprised if Coughlin is fired and the new staff hitches their wagon to Nassib thus making ELI available ?
  3. Okie dokie. Now your post makes sense. My opinion is that the main culprit is Shanahan. That idiot continued to let RGIII play when it was clear the dude was hobbling. I wonder what that did to the rook's psyche. Maybe his steep decline this season is in part to being spooked. By and large, RGIII appeared last year to be a balanced player mentally. I don't care about the negative press surrounding him especially the picture that Jay Gruden is painting. If RGIII were to become available in the offseason, I hope we take a long and hard look at him, his skills, physical and mental health.
  4. I disagree with you and am going to leave it at that. You cannot underestimate how much a mediocre QB can hamper the Offense from a scheme and execution perspective.
  5. Et tu, 26Corner ? You too are jumping on the anti-Marrone wagon ? I agree with much of what dave writes above. If you blame him for the O personnel, then by the same yardstick have to give him credit for the DC and D personnel. I have said it several times and will continue to say it until proven otherwise. Top 15 QB play and an experienced OC would put this team deep into the playoffs. With Marrone as HC
  6. Letting Levitre go and not signing a good replacement hurts to this day and will in the near future. This is why we sometimes need to overpay or, at a minimum, have a solid backup plan.
  7. Not sure Orton even has it.
  8. Oh nice. I suppose you and Big Cat may have found common ground. Finally. :-)
  9. Mathematically, we win the Superbowl. Footbally (!!), this is most likely an 8-8 season.
  10. Wow. Hope everyone involved is okay.
  11. I have no idea what your post means. Besides the fact that he is Jay and not Jon Gruden, what does developing McCoy have anything to do with this ? By most reports, RG III has not put in the effort this year to play the position. Cousins turned out to be a turnover machine. I have no idea how Jay Gruden is doing in other aspects of coaching but as for QB, what exactly has he done wrong ?
  12. Nice ! Where do you find this stuff ?
  13. I think they may hvae been congratulating each other for the good communication or simultaneous call as the article alludes to. I can believe it was not a conspiracy that they were celebrating the success of. Problem in my eyes is that the refs have to maintain an image much like everyone else on the field. They need to be totally emotionless and especially in a situation like this (a TD), they have to be aware that cameras and eyes will be on them totally. They should not have done anything but signal the TD.
  14. "That was a ball faced lie. I'm not one to bash Marrone on a daily basis, but don't insult our intelligence." In this thread...
  15. I guess this is a bit of a tangent but let us indulge for a moment. IMHO, Marrone had to make the switch at the time he did. He must have seen EJ struggling and expecting other teams to pile on and make him even more confused. We all had to see what Orton gives us else there would be this constant 'why is EJ still playing' vibe which would rub negatively against everyone. Also, at the time, the players also were in support of an EJ benching. Orton did give us a bit of a bump and also allowed EJ to step back, breathe and hopefully learn a thing or two (hopefully he didnt learn to slide 2 yards short of the 1st down marker). The benching was entirely logical and now we know why Orton is only backup caliber much like Fitz
  16. Whats with the snarky tone there ? If you also did not know exactly what happened, why rag on the other posters for incorrect rule interpretations ? Perhaps a 'we don't have enough information to make accusations' is more appropriate.
  17. Agree. Orton played scared must of the game. For the first three quarters, it seems like he wasn't looking past 10 yards from the line of scrimmage. He looked and then went to the side throws. There was no vertical passing game till the fourth Q
  18. Are you seriously suggesting that Fitz would complete more deep passes then Orton? How quickly you forget how Fitz's lack of arm strength affected his accuracy on the deep ball. Guy would have to put so mucvh body into it that he would regularly miss those throws. Lets not credit Fitz with attributes based on selective memory of his few completions
  19. The on side kick would only happen if we scored a TD. Down 2 TDs was not the time for that desperation play. We still could get one possession to score the first of 2 required TDs. Based on how the offense played most of the game, did anyone have the required confidence that we would get those yards?
  20. That is a 37.3% chance of ending the game right then and there. Terrible odds
  21. Two bad calls against us. Penalty on Robey and no head butt penalty
  22. 'Goit away from him' ??? Yeah right
