If we take one in 2016, he wont mature and play at a high level for another 2 years (by past average history). That and the dearth of available (experienced) above average QBs year after year makes me want the Bills to draft one in ~round 3. or even round 2 if some high prospect drops.

The inability of Goodwin to stay on the field has to factor into his evaluation as a contributing member of the team. I keep hearing about his potential, but his rookie season he had 17 catches for 283 and last year 1-42. Hogan had 10-73 in 2013 But 41-426 in 2014. I understand his speed etc. but is he more valuable to the team on the bench than Hogan who tries hard and has good hands ? In my eyes potential means squat if not realized.

For some reason, I am now convinced we will draft a QB this year. Considering how the QB market and draft fares year after year (no proven good ones come available), there is never a bad time to take a flyer in a mid-round prospect

Bills to trade Kiko Alonso for LeSean McCoy
Fan in Chicago replied to CNY315's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Guys, I am out of the country and just saw this. Jaw dropping for sure. Some quick thoughts: - was looking forward to seeing Kiko in the new D with so many probowlers in the front line - quite unsure about how many years McCoy can contribute but he is top shelf talent at the position - much as Whaley has fallen short in the QB area and the jury is stilll out on the OL. One thing we have learned with no dohbts is that Whaley knows his LBers. He has added significant talent including Brown. If there was one area we could afford to give up a player, it was this one. - Ryan does more for a D with lesser talent - I wish a stunning trade of this type was available for a QB -

RUMOR: EJ Manuel Likely To Be Cut
Fan in Chicago replied to negativo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has built up and cultivates an aura of having such information. Indeed if you leave out the 'IMO' at the end of the OP, it reads as if he does have his ears to the decision room . With that kind of defense, Leroi is in a no-lose situation. If it does come true, he enhances his reputation. If not, there is always the 'last minute' change angle.I will just disagree with you and leave it at that. -
RUMOR: EJ Manuel Likely To Be Cut

Precisely my point. Its how the point is stated. If there was scope for another team to step in, the Bills and McCown were not a done deal as was implied by him -

In which case, Leroi should have posted it as ' both sides close but final deal not done' . The wording of his post implied that both sides have agreed in principle and the paperwork is all that remained. Just tough to justify Leroi's post . I agree. Since the Ryan/Roman posts, he has said that Marrone had a Jags OC offer on the table, that Pegulas 'played' Marrone into leaving and now this impending McCown signing. His track record of accuracy regarding I inside news is highly suspect. As Hopeful stated, he should be careful about howbhe words his posts to delineate between inside news and his analysis/guesses. Given the hit to miss ratio, in my mind his credibility is questionable -
Pegulas, Rex, Whaley = Big Splashes Commeth

As I had pointed out somewhere, Leroi sounds more lucky than knowledgeable about the inside news. There were only 1-2 things he actually got right or was consistent about -
Chicago Bears - Jay Cutler available?
Fan in Chicago replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In today's Chicago Tribune, an article wants the Bears to pass on Mariota if he falls to the Bears at #7. If that were to happen, IMHO, the Bears should jump at that chance and keep both Cutler and Mariota for 2015. If Cutler continues to underwhelm, let the Mariota era begin. -
Buffalo ranked 3rd best food city in world by Natl Geo.

"Chennai, India — India’s equivalent to Buffalo’s chicken wings." I have no friggin' idea what that means as the vast majority of the Chennai population is vegetarian and that is reflected in the local cuisine. That being said, I had some of the best (Indian style) meat and fish barbeque in that town. I concur. I visit the NO area quite often and that region has the best cuisine in the US, bar none. Unless I am totally mistaken, there is no Chennai version of chicken wings, Buffalo style or otherwise. -
He played for the Bills ?

Dude, I normally respect your opinion but am convinced you posted this when drunk or incoherent in some other way. Sanchez? People are taking the 'little talked about direction' to places where the sun dont shine -

Bills to go in little-talked-about direction at QB?

We don't need a collection of QBs who have had a tough time nailing down a starting spot. We need either an established starter (trade) or at worst, a prospect QB. -

New England Patriots caught deflating game balls
Fan in Chicago replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry traveling and unable to keep up with the board. But, I have no opinion on that. After the player subsitution issue against the Ravens, I get the feeling that the Pats* dig deep into the rule book to see what plays could be on the fringe of the rules and yet could give them an advantage. Frankly, I am surprised more teams havent tried to use this philosophy. -
New England Patriots caught deflating game balls
Fan in Chicago replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry guys late to the party on this topic. But here is how I feel about this situation: I think it was an attempt to stretch the rules in order to gain a slight advantage. The game itself turned into a blowout so the ‘edge’ was not required. But as a coach, BB had to plan for the eventuality that it would be a close game The only goal was to win that game any which way and get to the superbowl. If they win, the ‘haters’ can put all sorts of asterisks on their win btu history will still note them as superbowl winners. I thnik BB knew that the price would be a fine or at worst a draft pick. Both are acceptable prices to pay for the chance to play in and win the big game IMHO, it was a calculated gamble to gain a slight advantage with a small downside.
