If they continue to keep their nose clean, I am betting the Bills extend Harvin and Incognito during the season

Yes the cupboard is very bare but Forte, Long and Jeffery are good. Noene of the the should be traded. -
Bills Trade Cassel to Cowboys

I also like the thought of having three, including one vet. But I absolutely disagree that this is Whaley promoting 'his guy'. If this was the case, he would never have re-signed him after cutting him. -
That's a fair point.

What exactly are you saying? That the 4th quarter points make the earlier ineptness forgiveable?
-
I get where you are coming from. But the ineptness of the O in q2 and q3, combined with the horridly confused D put us in a deep hole. TT's numbers are the end of the first half were very bad. Way too early to call trends but some items best watching if we seriously think this team is capable of the playoffs
-
fair enough. But TT looked skittish even after that superlative first drive. He was avoiding the rush but not doing much with that scramble. No point in praising his escapability if it doesnt result in a good run or a completed pass. Also, at least two of his interceptions were his fault. Even though the receiver was able to touch the ball, they were too high to expect a completion. This is what we complained in the past that the QB 'was killing our WR/TE'. As with EJ and Orton in the past, so it was with TT today. The Pats* were stacking the box big time because it was evident that TT wasnt able to scan the field and make even a safe dink and dunk pass. The fact that he played well late in the game, does not negate the fact that the ineptness of the offense and the terrible Defense let the game get away from us in the first half. I do in general agree that Roman should have been a tad more creative and given him some safe completions to get him back on track in the 2nd quarter.

Rex Ryan - The mouth that roared
Fan in Chicago replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I surely am not calling for Ryan's head or faulting his colorful press conferences. However, it is worth objectively pointing out that: - For the second week in a row we had way too many penalties. Indiscipline - The team was not ready for the Pats*, especially on Defense. Every time I saw that slant pass, I cringed. We are STILL getting burnt by that ? Unprepared Both these aspects fall on coaching. -

Sammy - Time for this dude to start playing ball.

Pretty much Reason #1 for acquiring multiple threats on offense. -

I am thinking the same as of now - that TT is playing a safe game until he gets his feet wet. It is unlikely he will try to fit throws into tight spaces if other options are more available. The Pats** undoubtedly will know this and if we fail to establish the run early, we will have to throw a lot. Lets see what happens once TT has warmed up. That is a fair point. Key will be to see what the game plan is in tighter games. This Sunday will be a good test of the offense in general and Sammy in particular Something to keep an eye open for as the season wears on. -
We will see but IMHO, someone who didn't run routes per the O scheme and QB skills cannot be consistently successful

Seems like just yesterday when he was supposed to have found a fit in San Fran

I think Peyton Manning is done
Fan in Chicago replied to Fan in Chicago's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanx. Yes it is not breaking news but at the end of last season, there was talk about him being possibly injured and he will recover over the off-season. Even though the trends were there for the better part of last season, he chose to continue his career. I am questioning his decision and wondering if a QB of his stature can ever be benched. Even though it may be the right football decision eventually, the fans may not want it. Interesting for sure. True. Brady** is showing no signs or hints at retiring in the near future. Pats** will also have similar interesting decisions in a couple of years - play Brady** till he can not stand any more or bring on the future. Sounds quite wild and I doubt he can do it, but we will see. At this point, it seems like he may have enough to trump the lower level teams but will have a lot of difficulty against a half-way decent defense or if the game is a shootout. -
At the end of last season, I saw a couple of Peyton Manning games and started thinking that this guy looks spent. I even thought and wanted him to retire so that he can go out on a semi-high. However, he (and the Broncos?) made a decision that he will play this season. Again, this Sunday, I saw Manning as looking very very average. His throws lacked zip, accuracy was middling. The O gameplan is conservative to cover up his seriously declined arm strength. If this is how he is throwing in the first game of the season, I shudder to think how excruciating it will be to watch him in November and December. This article also in the in same vein and really think he should have hung it up. There is no glory in stumbling towards the finish line, a sad shadow of what he once was. Thoughts ? http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/peyton-manning-picked-up-where-he-left-off-%E2%80%94-looking-very-very-old/ar-AAefY95?li=AAa0dzB&ocid=mailsignout

Getting some national love
Fan in Chicago replied to SUNTANBILLSFAN's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cool down now. Around these parts, we like to fly under the radar and we love when the national media ignores us and writes us off. We hate it when the team is praised so stop it already. -
I haven't seen the All-22 but just from the game itself, there were at least 2 instances when Henderson totally blew his block and looked lost. A couple of thoughts: - He will have a short leash and Kujo should be chomping at the bit - The line is very new. No player has played with the one next to him last year. Chemistry cannot be under rated especially on the O Line. I would give it 3-4 games more for them to try and gel. If after that point, we still see penalties from the OLineman on a regular basis, I would start becoming concerned For now, as with everything positive and positiive, it is way too early to detect trends

MNF : Eagles versus Falcons

Some of Bridgewater's throws are head scratchers. Who is he throwing to? -

Why are the Falcons not making a more serious effort to run the ball? Looking one dimensional so far -

Too early to tell. Maybe a rare win-win trade considering how good Whaley is with acquiring LB talent
